猫站起来后仰着头看着大老鼠，心里不免有些害怕，不由得往后退了一步，大老鼠一看乐了，原来猫也会怕的，逮住这个时机，它得意洋洋的向猫逼急一步，冷笑道：“怎么，你怕我了吧?”
小猫退到窝里没敢吱声，大老鼠连笑带叫：“快来看呀!猫被我吓的不敢出来了。”老鼠们见了一阵欢呼。
从此老鼠们再也不怕猫了，每天在小猫的面前耀武扬威，肆意侮辱，小猫都不吱声。
几个月后，小猫长成了大猫。有一天大老鼠又来挑判生事，就在大老鼠得洋洋的欺负小猫的时候，小猫伸出强健的爪子，“啪”地一声按住了大老鼠的尾巴一口就咬断了它的脖子。 猫是老鼠的天敌，老鼠最怕的就是猫了，可是偏偏有一只大老鼠它就不怕猫，瞧它，吆喝着众位老鼠，大声地嚷嚷道：“老鼠怕猫，那是谣传，不信你们瞧我这身材，比这家的猫儿还大，我能怕它?笑话……”
小老鼠们叽叽喳喳地说：“你说你不怕，那你敢和小猫挑战吗?”
大老鼠盛气凌人地说：“怎么不敢，去就去。”说着“噌”地一下，蹿出了鼠洞。大摇大摆地来到小猫面前，此时小猫正躺在窝里舒舒服服地睡觉，根本没发现老鼠来了。大老鼠嘿嘿一笑，伸手拽着猫的胡须说：“懒猫，我要挑战你。”
小猫被吓了一大跳，它才刚生下来一个月大，没见过这种世面，小猫想，老鼠要挑战猫?这太让它匪夷所思了，妈妈不是说，老鼠最怕猫吗?
于是小猫伸了一个懒腰弓起身来，喵一声，围观的小老鼠听到这一声叫，吓得魂飞魄散撒腿就跑，说实话大老鼠也吓的腿肚子直哆嗦，可它为了面子强支撑着没跑。
