Most of the old house will have some ghosts.Sometimes it’s a quiet, kind ghost;sometimes it’s a busy guy, kept slam the door and do

some something to make people felt horrified.The Canterville Ghost is a busy ghost.In the past three centuries, the ghost kept making

noises in the midnight and scared those poor ladies.Almost each of them was scared pathogenic.One day, Mr.Hiram B.Otis, the American Minister, bought the

Canterville Chase.This family didn’t afraid of the ghost, they did a lot and successfully angered the ghost.The ghost decided to repay them.He had intended to frightened them beside their bed in the midnight, he also planed to tortured naughty twins, but finally he failed and fled.In the end of the novel, the ghost met the kind girl called Virginia.The girl talked with the ghost for a long time and helped the ghost

achieved the mercy of the angel.Finally the ghost died peacefully and left a big box of jewels for return.In the end of the novel.the girl said that the ghost made her see what life is, and what death signifies, and why love is stronger than

both.I also think this the main idea of this novel.Love is the strongest thing in the world.It can help a criminal give up evil and turned to good;it can help a man get free of the soul;and it can let the death become meaningful.In short, love is the origin of all.读书报告
