（一）原因

斯图亚特王朝的封建专制统治严重阻碍了英国资本主义的发展

（二）过程1、1640年长期议会的召开，标志着革命开始2、1649年，议会处死国王查理一世，并宣布英国成立共和国（革命取得了重大进展）。3、1660年，封建王朝（斯图亚特王朝）复辟（革命遭受挫折）

4、1688年，“光荣革命”（资产阶级发动宫廷政变），在事实上形成了君主立宪5、1689年，议会颁布了具有资产阶级宪法性质的文件——《权利法案》，对王权作了种种限制，从法律程序上正式建立了君主立宪制度。（革命到此彻底结束）

（三）意义

1、英国革命胜利后，出现了长期稳定的政局，为资本主义的发展扫清了道路。君主立宪政府颁布了诸如保护圈地、鼓励海外贸易和对外殖民的政策，有力地推动了英国资本主义的发展（自身意义）。

2、英国革命揭开了欧美资产阶级革命运动的序幕，标志着世界近代史的开端（国际意义）。

美国独立战争

（一）原因

英国殖民统治阻碍了北美的民族独立和资本主义的发展（根本原因）

（二）过程

1、开始：1775年，莱克星顿的战斗

第二届大陆会议召开，整编大陆军（大陆会议成为领导独立战争的最高权力机构）

2、1776年7月4日，大陆会议通过《独立宣言》，宣告美国独立（英国还没有承认美国独立）

《独立宣言》充满了天赋人权、自由平等、法治、社会契约等启蒙精神（从教材中节选《独立宣言》中的片段可以看出），它否定了英国对北美殖民地统治的合理性，成为美国独立战争的精神武器，被马克思称为“第一个人权宣言”。

从对《独立宣言》的分析来看，不难看出启蒙运动对美国独立战争的影响：启蒙运动宣传进步思想，为美国独立战争提供了理论依据，进行了舆论动员也为美国的国家政权建设提供了政治构想（后文美国1787年《合众国宪法》，使美国确立了三权分立的民主共和制度就证明了这一点）。

4、英军投降：1781年，约克镇战役。

5、美国最终独立：1783年，英美《巴黎和约》，英国承认美国独立，并划定了美国的国界。
