针对上述情况, 笔者在本学期大胆尝试了在课前进行5分钟小演讲的活动。通过小演讲活动, 学生的兴趣得到了培养, 信心得到了增强, 技能得到了提升, 英语水平显著提高。具体做法如下:

首先, 我从班中选出英语水平较好的十几名学生, 给他们排好序, 并提前告知演讲时间, 以便于学生做好心理准备, 并保证有充足的时间准备演讲材料。这样做, 学生学习的主动性和积极性明显提高。

其次, 关于演讲内容, 教师不应做太多的限制, 只要是励志、阳光、传递正能量的都可以。

学生可以自由谈论学校小环境中关于同学或教师的趣闻、八卦, 也可以谈论大环境中国家乃至世界正在发生的关于政治、经济、军事、科学等各种话题。这样, 学生就能根据自己的兴趣进行选题, 实施起来就会少很多顾虑, 但必须强调, 选题之后必须用自己的语言组织内容进行演讲。

再次, 关于演讲形式, 学生可以借鉴所学经典句型或借题发挥, 可以随心所欲挑选话题, 但绝不容许背诵短文故事。

按照以上原则, 我组织学生开始实施, 在第一轮活动结束后, 效果竟大大超出了我的预料———刚开始时, 学生表现得十分紧张, 站在讲台上甚至不敢正视自己的同学, 声音也比较低, 体态很不自然, 与同学之间没有互动, 可以看出, 演讲的学生只盼能尽快结束演讲。显然, 一开始, 演讲变成了学生的负担, 变成了干巴巴的背诵材料, 在学生的认知里, 它是一项任务。但随着活动的进一步开展, 在更多的学生尝试后, 慢慢地, 情况开始好转, 后面的学生从前者身上看到不足后, 便不再满足于类似的演讲。有几个思维灵活且较能驾驭语言的学生开始尝试着表达自己的感受, 于是, 演讲所用的语言变得生动起来, 演讲者的表情也越来越丰富, 与同学之间的互动活动也有了, 甚至增加了有意而为之的煽情, 演讲内容开始升华。很显然, 学生的演讲不再是简单地讲述一个小故事, 而是试着从故事中升华出关乎人生的哲学。

在坚持开展演讲活动的过程中, 我一直鼓励学生大胆尝试, 并诚恳地表扬他们在课堂中的优异表现。学生从中受到鼓舞, 深信自己的能力超乎想象, 话题开始广泛起来, 有夸父逐日故事后的热爱人民、为人民呕心沥血的体悟;有守株待兔故事后提炼出来的NO pains, no gains的感悟;有小男孩与苹果树故事后These trees are like our parents.They devote their life to us的领悟;有大谈kindness之后If all of us are kind, our school will be better.If we are all kind, our country will be stronger.If we are all kind, the world will be more peaceful.的激情迸发;还有辩证看待失败与成功关系后的Failure is the mother of success.的顿悟;更令我们感动的是关于尼泊尔地震之后一个同学的即兴演讲:Earthquake is terrible, which can destroy our buildings and can take away our lovers, but human being can’t be defeated.What we should do is to give them a hand when they are in trouble....每一次倾听, 我的内心都能或多或少地被触动。

不知不觉间, 学生已经学会关心他人, 慢慢成长并成熟起来。他们不断尝试着, 开始殷切盼望着能在英语课堂上表达自己的情感, 重视并珍惜自己登台的机会。有时, 会有学生拿着文章主动找我面批辅导, 我便针对句子的语法错误给予相应的指导, 而对于学生的主导观点则不过问, 坚持尊重学生的观点, 不限制学生的思想 (只要不是过于偏激的) , 给予学生畅所欲言的权利。

值得注意的是, 课前五分钟的小演讲活动对于学生的写作技能也有很大的帮助。一方面, 由于演讲话题比较广泛, 学生必定会遇到很多不熟悉的单词, 从而促使其通过各种途径 (如词典、互联网) 去解决, 这无形中极大地扩大了学生的词汇量;另一方面, 面对一些难度较大的高级词汇时, 即使演讲者自身明确其意义, 但当同学们听得一脸茫然时, 他就会试着用简单的英语词汇做进一步的解释, 这又是另一种能力的培养。每一场演讲活动过后, 我都会针对本次演讲的内容做深度的挖掘, 并提出针对性的问题, 如What did he/she talk about?What are their suggestions?What’s your opinion about it?If you were the character, what would you do?等。因为听后要回答问题, 所以学生都听得非常认真, 甚至在听后能做简单的复述, 这对提高学生的英语水平有很大的帮助。一段时间后, 学生不再畏惧, 不再羞于启齿, 且已经习惯了用英语思维、用英语表达和用英语交流的方式, 英语课成了名副其实的语言应用课。

我想,这就是团队的力量!一根筷子易折断,十根筷子坚如铁!团队的力量是伟大的,伟大的背后更隐藏着艰辛与磨砺。一个人经历风雨,不如大家一起抵挡风雨!

我的奶奶说如果别人问起我的妈妈,我都不会流泪,并且只会说不知道,当时的我心里一定如针刺的痛。小的我已经长大了,要跟着别人的孩子一样地上学了,因为我平常的生活也是依靠那年迈的奶奶所支撑。爷爷奶奶都老了,已经没有太大的能力,只能给我找一所退休老师私人开的学堂,好让我能够跟着别家的孩子一样能够学习!!!我,虽然不大,但也懂性,明白自己能够上学是不容易的。所以一直学习都很认真,做作业不懂就虚心请教老师。但放学时我看见别人的父母都骑着车来接自己的孩子,并且都有说有笑时,我就会发呆。有一次,在课堂老师在发呆好像在想什么,入了迷一样。老师就教导我,但还是毫无反应。于是老师就说,如果你在不认真听课,我就告诉你的妈妈,话语落下,我没有反应。再不听话就告诉你的爸爸,我依然没有反应,只是呆呆地坐在凳子上,不说一句话。直到说出这样一句话,如果你再不听课,我就找你奶奶来,话音刚落。内心孤独的我不自禁地流下眼泪,哭了。因为他知道在这个世界上只有奶奶是疼他的,只有奶奶能给他阳光,我不能够辜负奶奶的期望,要认真学习,这也是当初进这里对奶奶许下的承诺!!于是我马上拿起了笔,认真地补回老师刚才的笔记,并詪请老师不要告诉我奶奶今天在学校的情况,因为我不想让疲惫的奶奶再为他担心!!尽管一个5,6岁的孩子,但在平凡得不能再平凡的坏境中,促使他成为了一个懂事的孩子!!

我的父亲整天吊儿郎当的,无所事事,没有关心过孩子的情况,只是把孩子推给了年迈的父母。我的母亲同样在他很少时就离开了他,到别的地方去打工,从不理他。关爱他。逢年过节也不见人,打3,400百元的工,连自己都养活不了,怎能养活孩子我的父母都是不负责任的,让年小的孩子承受着没有父母爱痛苦,你们有没有想过当你们的孩子每当看见别家的孩子跟他们的父母有说有笑时,你们的孩子心里是多么的难受,然而他又是多么期望能够生活在有父母疼爱的日子里。哪怕是父母骂他,我也一样的幸福,因为我觉得这样地有父母关爱,已经很满足了!!!或许说你们既没有能力养他,给我幸福,给我爱,给我快乐,又何必生我出来呢何必让我承受这一份没有疼爱的痛苦难道你们不觉得错了吗如果你们若知错了,就应该马上弥补,传递孩子一缕温暖的阳光,驱走他心里那寒冷的黑夜,让我成为一个阳光孩子,健康快乐的成长!

One evening in , for example, when my father and I were watching the final round of the popular TV showStar Road, we both became fans for a contestant named A Bao. Star Road has aroused great popular interest in Shaanxi folk music. Such media can help popular audiences to discover lost arts and introduce people to them for the first time.

The mass media raise the people’s popular interest in the traditional arts, but it is the performing artists who really develop the people’s understanding of traditional culture. Yang Liping’s dance show Yunnan Image, based on primitive Yunnan dance style, has had an enormous influence in and out of China. Yang has recovered for us the primitive life in Yunnan. It is the raw and unadorned beauty of nature in her dancing that moves her audience most. We desperately need professional artists’ endeavor to discover traditional arts, to train apprentices, and to project our traditional culture on the global stage.

The third strategic factor in promoting our culture in global competition is an audience who knows what and how to appreciate our culture. But today’s youth—tomorrow’s explorers—are ill equipped to appreciate the traditional culture. Take myself as an example: I have had no painting or music classes since senior high school! No extracurricular activities like Chinese painting or calligraphy since primary school! What paltry little we learn about our traditional Chinese culture is relegated to a few lines and pictures in history books. We need our government and our school system to give us a better opportunity to embrace our traditional culture and discover its rich legacy for ourselves.

The idea was to double down on the academic mission and it has made a difference as generation after generation has attested to its value in creating an open mind and intellect.

Both of these century-old intellectual innovations arose from the same sensibility. Both assumed that the best side of human nature includes the desire to learn and to live by the truth and to acquire and to create knowledge. And while our natural negative instincts activated by our fears, greed and lust for power sometimes divert us from that quest. A life worth living will only follow from a determined effort to engage with ideas at the most profound levels, even those ideas we dislike and firmly believe to be in error.
