It happens to me that my friends planned to go to Beihai this weekend, so I was so excited to join them. It took us four hours to arrive in Beihai, I saw the beach when I was in the busy, the water was so clean and there were so many people walked in the beach. When we found the hotel and dropped everything down, we went to the beach and had the barbecue, I played with my friends so happily. I realized my dream and have a happy weekend.

(一)学生基础不扎实,对英语学习缺乏兴趣

初一的英语侧重交际性,语法和词汇只在小学英语的基础上增加了一小部分,且绝大部分学生都有参加暑期有关小学和中学对接的培训课程,因此对大多数学生来说初一英语相对较简单。但他们仅仅满足于上课能听懂的状态,在知识构成上存在很多漏洞,所获取的语言技能十分薄弱。进入初二后,英语词汇量、课文长度都会大幅度地增加。如新版Go For It教材以话题为体系编排,每个单元相对独立,教材难度的增加大大降低了学生学习英语的兴趣。一旦学生在初二阶段的英语语言技能得不到发展和延续,那英语成绩可想而知。

(二)缺乏良好的学习方法和学习习惯,英语学习日趋被动

良好的学习方法和学习习惯是提高英语学习效率的关键。经过初一一年的学习,学优生已经形成了自己固有且行之有效的方法和习惯,并在英语学习的道路上越走越顺,进入良性循环。可英语学困生英语水平的低能现象简直让老师和家长瞠目结舌。他们怕听、怕说、怕读、怕写、怕问、怕背。这部分学生课前不知道预习,课后也不注意巩固,对课堂上所呈现的知识不能熟练掌握,越学越觉得英语难。对他们而言,学习英语完成处于被动状态,是被家长和老师逼着学的。久而久之就放弃英语学习,造成了两极分化。

(三)学生心理变化迅速,产生厌学情绪

学生进入初二后,在心理和生理两方面都发生了剧变。一方面他们认为自己长大了,能自己做主,但另一方面他们又不能脱离成人而存在。这种半幼稚半成熟的状态极不稳定,他们不再对老师的教导唯命是从,会时不时地以自己的意志来对抗老师枯燥的说教和单一的教学方式。加之周遭新鲜事物对学生的吸引,使得他们无法继续将注意力集中在英语学习之上。长此以往,英语成绩下滑,而教师和父母的不理解甚至是批评责骂则会使情况更为恶化,最后产生厌学情绪。

(四)家校联系断层,没有做到双管齐下

学生进入初二阶段的学习后,家长潜意识里认为自己的孩子已经长大了,不需要自己再像以前那样随时随地地督促。另一方面,学生所呈现出的各种叛逆心理和行为也让家长认为管得太多不好。他们逐渐放松了对孩子的督促,给予孩子更多的自主权,可事实上初二阶段的学生还处于半成熟半幼稚的状态,他们一方面为自己得到更多的自主权而沾沾自喜,另一方面又无法控制自己的学习行为。最后导致家长对孩子在校的学习情况不够了解,缺乏与教师的有效沟通。这在一定程度上影响了学生英语学习成绩的提高。

二、根据以上两极分化原因的分析,结合笔者自身的教学实践,提出减小两极分化的对策

(一)减轻学生英语学习负担,建立轻松和谐的师生关系

相对于初一阶段的学习,学生在初二阶段的学习负担更重。各门课的教材内容变得更加复杂,对学生本身的要求也有了很大的提高,越来越多的作业占用了学生的课余时间。同时,初二阶段学生特有的心理状态使得他们与家长教师的关系慢慢疏远,师生间缺乏有效沟通。作为英语教师,可能我们更侧重英语成绩,而相对忽视了对学生非智力因素的关注,部分学生越来越不喜欢上英语课。所以作为一线英语教师,我们可以针对初二学生特有的心理、生理特点,发动情感攻势,取得与学生的感情共鸣,建立轻松、和谐的师生关系,从而增强学生学习英语的自信心,提高学生英语学习的兴趣。

(二)改善教法,因材施教,实施分层教学

新课程的实施不仅对学生提出了更高要求,对英语教师亦然。学生在初一阶段获得的较为薄弱的语言技能能否在初二的学习过程中得到延续和发展,是缩减英语两极分化的一个重要方面。这就需要英语教师不断改进自己的教学方法,原有的一成不变的教法已不适合现在的学生,也不适合现在的信息技术飞速发展的年代,我们需要给学生营造一种轻松、快乐的学习环境。在实际教学过程中,我们可以针对不同的课型采用不同的方法。如在新授课时借助多媒体创造适宜的教学情境,使学生在不知不觉中掌握英语知识。

总而言之,初二英语学习中出现两极分化的现象不是偶然的,归根结底是由多种因素造成。缩减两极分化的差距是一项任重而道远的工作,需要英语教师、家长及学生本身的高度关注、共同努力。只要找出原因,采取积极措施,对症下药,相信能有效遏制两极分化,从而达到转化学困生、缩小分化的目的,真正走出两极分化的困境。

一、英语朗读冷场之因

1.学生心理特点变化。进入初二以后,初一时的新鲜感和神秘感消失了,又没有初三临近中考的紧迫感,就容易造成他们的松懈。初二正是性格定型加快节奏、幻想重重的年龄期,常常表现出心理状态和情绪的不稳定,例如逆反情绪发展,这给外部的诱惑和干扰创造了乘乱而入、乘虚而入的条件。学生会因为这些妨碍了正常接受教师和家长的指导,破坏了学生专一学习的正常心理状态。要学会“冷静”、“自抑”,调整心态,把充沛的青春活力投入学习活动中,否则就会成为“口头巨人”和“行动矮子”。

2.初二阶段的学习变化。学生一进入初二,顿感不适,多了物理且大部分学生学得不轻松,每个学科都内容上,难度上增大,作业也多了,地理和生物要提前学完,进入总复习,参加中考。初二学习任务重给学生带来压力,学生被这“初二现象”弄得手忙脚乱,哪有时间管英语朗读呢?

3.英语教材内容方面变化。初二阶段英语难度增大,内容增多,很多学生来不及消化。(1)光词汇量就近1000个(黑体和白体),且不少单词拼写难,学生记忆起来很费劲,词汇量成为最大障碍。(2)初中阶段的重点语法、词法及诸多句型集中出现在初二,由于中英文差异,学生对语法的掌握也是一知半解;(3)阅读量增大,由初一时的一个话题配一篇阅读文章到初二的一个话题配两篇,面对这令人望而生畏的内容,很多学生产生畏难情绪,连朗读都没动力了。

二、让英语朗读火起来之对策

1.从思想上疏通朗读的重要性。英语课堂是学生学习的主要语言环境,我们要充分利用这个宝贵的环境。朗读即眼到、口到、耳到,是视觉的又是听觉的,它使声音和文字建立直接联系。同时,由于朗读中语调的升降、轻重音的起伏对人的大脑形成一种刺激,所记的东西当然要比看或写所记的东西牢固得多,因此用朗读的方式记单词和句子会对学生的口语能力、语感及记忆力有很大促进作用,起到事半功倍的效果。“书读百遍,其义自见”,就是这个道理。

2.想出丰富多样的朗读方式。一日之计在于晨,清晨是学生记忆力最佳时间且晨读有一个完整的20分钟,它是课堂教学很及时的延伸、很有效的补充。英语一周四个晨读,我对每个晨读逐一做出计划。周一:齐读已学课文。因为朗读内容已熟悉,不仅可以提高朗读兴趣,而且可以以旧带新,承上启下。虽周一已开始上课,但学生还处在周末慵懒当中,为了提起读书的劲,我首先要求学生端正坐姿,挺背直腰,手捧课本,竖立书桌;其次在“领读先生”或“领读小姐”的指挥下高声朗读,全班齐读后也可让组长带领本组员自己齐读。周二:跟读新课匹配的MP3。语音教学是语言教学的重要内容之一,自然规范的语音、语调将为有效的口语交际打下良好基础。让学生在接触本周新课文前,先模仿配套的MP3朗读,注意语义与语境、语调与语流相结合,可以有效帮助学生养成良好的发音习惯,避免自己随性乱读。周三:背诵比赛。给定一个时间,给定一篇已学甚至已背的课文,让学生自己独立大声读背,谁先背好,谁就到黑板上写上自己的名字,学生呈现一片热闹的读背气氛。我同时把黑板的名字分别写在小纸条上并折好,读背时间一到,让”领读先生”或”领读小姐”任意抽,抽到谁的名字,谁就到讲台上背给大家听。周四:听力训练。任何语言的“听”和“读”都密不可分,利用好早读课对学生进行听力训练也很有必要。听力内容主要选自这周上课的话题,这样可以降低听力的难度,学生更乐意听、乐意读,相辅相成。除了充分利用晨读时间外,课堂上,我也会拿出些许时间朗读。除全班大声朗读外,更多的是小组朗读。以小组为单位,先请上周被评上的“朗读示范组”读,其他下组来挑战,看是否可超过“朗读示范组”。学生积极性极高,许多小组甚至在课前就会早早地配合好,让自己所在的小组在课堂上发挥更出色。

3.注重评价,落实成果,让朗读这把火持久不衰。评价是英语课程标准的重要组成部分,采用科学、合理的评价方式和方法对学生学习起着重要作用。它可以在很大程度上激发学生学习的积极性,调动学生学习的热情。在对学生进行评价时,教师应考虑到个体学生的差异性,以鼓励引导为主。评价的方式除了教师当场发自内心的口头赞扬外,更需要以书面形式把它记录下来。因此,我专门为朗读设计了一个评价表。时间以一周为单位;学生以原有的4人为单位,既要评价个人,又要评价小组;评价内容有:周一,以坐姿为主评,因为学生这天的状态最差,坐端正了,精神气有了,朗读就会有声音了。每人5分,坐姿被点名一次扣一分。周二,每人5分,以规范地模仿MP3为主评,不抢拍不拖拉,抢了拖了,扣一分,表现出众者,再加3分。周三,规定时间内背完到黑板写名字者,加3分,被抽背流利者再加3分,被抽背,发现不会者,原来的3分清零。周四,听力(共20分),按档给分。课堂上,小组朗读,以观众评分为准,可在2~5分范围,小组得几分,个人也可相应几分。由课代表进行每周分数统计,分数最高的个人选为“领读先生”或“领读小姐”并于下周晨读给同学们领读;分数最高的小组可以选为“朗读示范组”并作为下周的擂主,除此之外,我还会颁发奖状,粘贴于班级的荣誉榜上。

在所有朗读活动中,教师都不应该脱离学生群体袖手旁观,教师的主导地位不能丢,而应该积极在课室内走动,发现学生存在的问题,随时为学生提供帮助、示范及鼓励,做个合格的巡视员、帮助者、评价者。功夫不负有心人,经过我和学生的共同努力,我们班的朗读又恢复以往的霸气,朗读成了英语课上一道亮丽独特的风景,英语课因朗读更显精彩。
