剑桥商务英语BEC高级一年考两次,5月和11月的第三个周六。费用大致为520元(按报名当天的汇率折算,每年都有浮动)。报名大约在考前2个月左右。成绩大约在考好后2个月在教育部考试中心的网站上可以查到。要最后拿到证书至少得等考完后的三个月左右。

BEC高级考试整体难度介于六级和高口之间(一般认为),但其中也有不确定因素。我本人的考试结果就是一个例子。这个慢点再谈。如果你实力还可以的话,可以直接考高级。

BEC高级考试由读、写、听、说四个部分组成。每个部分都单独评分,分为四个档次:由好至差依次为:Exceptional, Good, Borderline, Weak。没有达到Weak的为Fail,一项Fail,就拿不到证书了。BEC高级考试的题型和我们习惯的中国式英语考试(如高考,四六级)和托福有很大区别,因此难度也相应增加。除非你是大牛,一般都要花一定的精力去准备。第一部分、培训班和复习资料

考BEC,我没有上培训班,基本上是自己复习的。但是系统复习之前,我曾做过一件非常精怪的事情——我去报了新东方的BEC班,领了它的资料,把有用的东西复印了一遍,并按时去听了第一节课,了解了考试的大致情况,然后火速全额退班。当时比较有用的资料是新东方内部编的一本商务英语词汇手册,现在也已经成书发行了,叫做《BEC词汇宝典》什么的。我买来看过,里面加了例句,但错误百出,完全整理后大概有百来个错误。但大部分错误不影响商务英语词汇学习,仍然推荐给大家。不知现在有没有修订过。

BEC考试官方教材:新编剑桥商务英语(高级)pass Cambridge BEC3学生用书 经济科学出版社,有配套磁带,强烈推荐。里面的内容与真题极为接近,是必备的参考书。考高级的同学中级的教材不妨也买来看看,可以增加商务背景知识,对写作和口语都是有好处的。

听说复旦大学出版社的《剑桥商务英语考试必备高级》(配套磁带)也很不错,我没有用过。另外,有空也可以看看businessweek,the economist等英文杂志。

第二部分、BEC高级考试题型介绍

1、阅读部分

阅读分为6部分。时间60分钟。第一部分8句句子,5篇短文。要求判断这些句子那篇短文是有关系的。这部分其实不是很难,一般做法是先迅速地看8句句子,划出每句句子重点词汇或内容。然后再看短文,看一篇就把能确定的选一下,5篇下来估计不能确定也就一两个,然后再斟酌一下。实在不行那就扔硬币吧。第二部分从7句句子中选出6句填到一篇较长文章的6个空格里。这个部分普遍反映是比较难的。是阅读部分最难的一题。花的时间可能也比较多一点。做法与上面一题基本差不多,但这题除了正确理解每句句子意思外,还是要仔细看每个空格的上下文,找出逻辑关系,这是解题的关键。总之,做这个题一定要心平气和,非常仔细。

第三部分是一篇文章,6个四选一的单选题。这个没什么好说的,六级做多了,这个自然不在话下,只是切忌要细心,因为可能有陷阱。

第四部分是完形填空,很简单的。第五部分是一篇文章,当中有10个空,让你自己填空,一般性填的都是副词、代词等虚词。也不难。

第六部分是类似于6级的改错题,主要考查语法,难度还是有一点的。做阅读题状态是关键,也就是说考前一定要休息好,让大脑处在清醒的状态。否则文章一长,再加上你可能不熟悉的商务背景,很有可能怎么读都读不懂。第一第二部分是最难的,做不好很容易影响心情。可以在做模拟提的时候就尝试先迅速把后面的题目做掉,留下多点时间来仔细考虑句子填空等难题。考试的时候尽量用自己习惯的顺序做题,以免算不准时间。BEC高级考试一年考两次,5月和11月的第三个周六,整体难度介于六级和高口之间,由读写听说四个部分组成。每个部分都单独评分,分为四个档次:由好至差依次为:Exceptional, Good, Borderline, Weak。

2、作文

作文分为两部分。共70分钟。第一部分是图表分析,120-140字。图表分析如何写,经济科学出版社的那本官方教材讲得很清楚,也有不少例文,可以对照着学习写作。要注意涵盖信息点,如

图表上的最高点,最低点,转折,波动,保持不变,平稳上升下降等一定要捕捉住并准确描绘出来。准备时可以整理一下分析走势的词汇,如上涨、下跌、稳定、翻几番等,每种状态都要准备几种说法,保证用词的多样性。如果碰到两条折线做趋势比较的,要慎重对待,这类难度较大的图表分析在平时要多花时间练习。这部分写作是很好准备的,不需要专业背景,只要了解特定的词汇并多加练习就可以写得很好。

第二部分有三道题,任选一题200-250字。其实是三种商用文体。一种是letter,一种是report,还有一种是proposal.你只要任选一题即可。对于这三种文体的写作,教材上都有介绍。个人感觉letter和report比较好写。作文一定要注意格式,以及商务礼貌用语,这些都是可以通过准备熟练掌握的。这部分作文难是难在提示少,具体内容必须自己展开,这就要求考生有比较扎实的商业背景,编故事能编得像,用词要准确。最好是事先精心准备自己最擅当时我考的题目是一家公司某产品的销售不佳,要求写一份报告分析原因并提出建议。我是这样写的:

第一部分 简单介绍产品的销售状况:2个月内总销量多少,比之前下降多少,问题严重不得不引起重视等等。

第二部分 具体分析销量下降的原因: 1替代产品出现 2广告投入减少 3未及时开辟新的市场

第三部分 提出建议:1进一步细分市场,改良产品,扩大市场份额 2增加广告投入,提高知名度 3开发新市场,培育新的消费者

这样写内容比较充实,不会感觉很空洞。写作的时间肯定是够的,能多写尽量多写,同时把握好结构层次。商务知识不是突击出来的,要慢慢积累,对于非商科背景的考生更是如此。的不妨看看BEC2的教材,也可以读一些概念),大家可以多准备一下。

3、听力

听力分为3部分,30个空,共约40分钟(30分钟听,10分钟填答案)。听力部分是整个考试中最难的,尽管它每部分

要放两遍。

第一部分听一个人独白,填12个空(up to 3 words or a number)

第二部分听5个短的独白,做10道配对题。也就是将10个选项与5段独白做同主题或相关内容配对。有时你听到某个词组难的。

第三部分听一段长的对话,做8道三选一的单选题。难度比上面一题稍微低一点。过了,这时要把注意力放在下一题。根据经验,很多复习材料的听力难度远远低于实际考试的难度(包括新东方教材)。而经济科学出版社的教材与考试难度相当。所以好好研究这本教材的听力题是很重要的。关于语音,BEC是英国考试,所以听力自然是BRITAIN ENGLISH。平时听VOA的,可以改听BBC磨耳朵。为了考试只好这样切换,但若你立志学美音,这时要千万警惕不要发生口音掺杂的现象。

刘军认为,今年的考试无论是初级、中级还是高级,其题型、所要考查的知识点与历年相比都不会有太大变化,对此广大考生不必担心。马上就要考试了,考生应当保持一种比较平和的心态,相信自己平时老师上课所讲的内容,力求能够消化一遍,然后好好静下心来对题型进行分析,因为 BEC考试的题型跟考研及英语四、六级考试不太相同。

一般性谈话或讨论等,还应能听懂所熟悉要想达到上述要求,最根本的对策就是听力基本功。要在听力方面有所突破,就必须听熟一定量的语音材料。他指出,阅读中有精读和泛读,同样的道理,听力中也分为精听和泛听。目前就听力的训练方法而言,普遍存在似是而非的做法,很多人在学习过程中多以泛听为主,只强调听懂大意。每天戴着随身听,坐车的时候听,打饭、打水的时候听,睡觉以前还听,但结果却是事倍功半。

他认为,练习听力要以精听为主,泛听为辅。听写是练习听力最根本的方法,其要领就是反复听、尽量写,直到实在写不出来时再去核对原文。他说,反复精听一盘语音纯正的磁带时,不难发现:平常不易注意的地方,这时就会注意到。这样,篇章的每一个细节都能在考生的脑海里留下深刻的印象,这对纠正发音和强化口耳互动训练,都极为重要。听写的严格训练可以为口语和听力打下坚实的基础。

解题技巧和策略

他提醒广大考生,在有了一定的基础之后,要想取得好成绩,B EC考试还要有一定的解题技巧和策略:

第一,答案原则上采用录音材料中的文字。因为阅卷时,一般应严格按照所得到的答案进行阅卷。这样直接来源于录音中的答案,会有相当大的优势。但肯定有一部分试题不能完全用录音中的内容去回答,需要用自己的语言,如果强行用文中的语言,反倒不行。这就要求考生灵活应对。

第二,答案力求内容丰富简洁。内容丰富主要体现在对问题应答的主题大意上,而简洁则是对语言掌握程度及考试时间上的要求。

第三,答题时还应当注意词尾的变化。命题者非常重视词尾的变化,一个动词的过去分词形式,如果单词对了,但词尾错了,也不能得分。

第四,听力如果是事实题,考生应重注意6个W,如:what,where等。阅读理解题如何得高分

阅读理解在考试中占了很大比重,是决定考试成败的一大题型。很多考生在这上面下了很多功夫,但是在最后的复习冲刺中,怎样才能争取在这个题型上拿更多的分呢?刘军老师提出了以下几点建议:1.抓住句子结构,通过语法知识来进行拆分理解。在阅读理解中,找出主、谓、宾结构,然后把从句和插入语也都表示出来,这样句子的意思就不难理解了。2.注意从整体上把握全篇。在把每句的意思弄懂的基础上,要高屋建瓴地统领全篇的内容,抓住中心主题,按照要求答题。有的考生担心自己对专业的商务知识了解不多,害怕在考试中吃亏,刘军老师认为考生不必对此过于担心,现在也不必恶补这方面的知识,考试虽然对专业的商务知识有涉及,但总的来说涉及不多,而且,即使考试时会涉及商务知识,那也只是作为阅读文章的载体出现,考生在这方面不会怎么吃亏的。

对于写作,刘军老师认为更多地要靠平时积累。现阶段来说,考生可以看一些比较好的范文。在考试时,考生也不必过于紧张,心态很重要,不要轻易下笔,不要在试卷上过多地涂改,写作时应力求保持卷面的整洁。
