With competitions becoming increasingly fierce in our society, more and more parents are busy enrolling their children to a variety of hobby group, such as, math, English, mental arithmetic, singing, dancing, writing and so on. Parents think these are good for their children to do preparation for their future. But I don’t agree with it. Maybe these interest groups will do good to the children, but too much stress from the interest classes will give heavy burden on children.

In the first place, taking too much interest classes will deprive children of their freedom time. Although children are in a young age, they still have to go to school, which will take up their some time. They have to take part in some hobby groups after school, which they may not really interested in. Can you imagine how many free time do they have? They have to study and study during their whole childhood. This may have negative effect on forming good characters for children.

Last but not least, the so called interest classes may not cause the interest of children. The cram classes that parents choose for their children are not really the real hobby of their children. If they have to be forced to do the things that they don’t like in a young age, how can they have a happy childhood? In addition, children may have no time to develop their true interest, because they have to do the things that their parents consider are their interest.

To sum up, forcing children to take up too much interest classes will increase the heavy burden on children. Parents should pay more time to figure out their children’s real interest and lead them to the right way, not force them to do things.

王超出生于80年代末,父亲王瑞阳是一名教师,母亲余颖是一名公务员。当时中国刚刚掀起“儿童早期智力开发”的热潮,而王超的母亲对此却没有多大兴趣。

当时很多家长从孩子睁开眼睛的那一刻,就开始给他灌输知识,巴不得自己的孩子成为小神童小天才,余颖却没有那么做。她也望子成龙,可她觉得儿子连话都不会说,路都不会走,给他读生硬的古诗讲大段的故事是对牛弹琴。她认为,不管孩子将来是否能成功,首先都要成人,成为一个好人,一个头脑灵活的人。

从王超出生的第一天起,余颖就喜欢和儿子说话。她总是看到什么。就跟儿子讲什么,手里做什么就跟儿子说什么,就像和大人聊天一样。余颖觉得,要让孩子头脑灵活,就要经常和他沟通,让他尽快认识世界。王超6个月时,余颖的耕耘有了收获,她问儿子:“小脚丫长在哪里?”王超就会举起小脚。余颖接着说:“儿子真棒,来,亲一个。”小王超就把他的脑袋拱向妈妈的额头。8个月大时,王超就能笑着指出外公外婆叔叔表姐。最有趣的是,有一天有人喊他叔叔的名字,他也高兴地指一下。家人乐坏了,试一下,发现他竟然知道周围每个亲人的名字!这些,都是母亲余颖天天和他“聊天”的收获。

为了让王超尽早认识世界,对形象和数字都有概念,王超很小的时候,余颖就告诉他每一样东西的名称,教他数数。走路时,余颖给儿子讲路上所有东西的名称,数树上有几朵花;吃动物饼干时,余颖一遍遍告诉儿子动物的名字,数有多少块饼干。融入日常生活中的教育,让王超轻轻松松学会了数数,学会了加减法。

第二次孕育,培育孩子健康的心理

王超的父母认为,要成为一个健康的人,只有灵活的头脑还不够,一定还要有健康的心理。母亲十月怀胎,是对孩子生理生命的孕育;而对宝宝心理雏形的孕育,是做母亲的应当承担的第二次孕育。第二次孕育,将决定孩子的情感、意志、性格和气质、气概。在第二次孕育中,父母和家庭为他选择怎样的精神生活至关重要。做父母的,要关爱、呵护、安慰孩子,给孩子以幸福感、安全感、亲切感、快乐感,使他感到人间是安全的,生活是快乐的,人际关系是和谐的,这样他就会成长为幸福快乐、积极开朗、亲切友爱、无拘无束的人,就不会胆小,将来也不会拘束不安、畏缩不前。所以余颖对第二次孕育极为重视。

王超才六七个月大时,余颖就让他给大家分饼干。开始的时候,小王超总是紧紧攥着饼干,谁也不给,后来,在余颖的引导下,他养成了与人分享的习惯。快1岁的时候,王超会走路了,家里只要有客人来,他就会抓起桌上的水果或者饼干,摇摇晃晃地递到客人手里,引来客人们的啧啧赞叹。

余颖最在意的是王超的情绪,为了让儿子的内心充满快乐,她从儿子会微笑开始,就千方百计地逗他笑。王超从小到大,都特别爱笑,一笑起来露出两个酒窝,非常可爱。就是在这样的笑容里,王超轻松愉快地成长起来。后来上了中学,即使学业压得人透不过气来,他仍然非常爱笑,以至于老师常对余颖说:“你的孩子整天笑嘻嘻的,学习太轻松了,应该给他加点压。”其实,并不是学习轻松,而是乐观豁达的王超从小就学会了轻松自如地应对一切。

从小,王超就是父母的骄傲,这倒不是因为他聪明过人,而是因为母亲余颖喜欢展示儿子的“绝活”。每当家里有客人来,她总是自豪地告诉客人,我儿子又会玩什么新花样了。王超会在母亲的引导下“卖弄”一下自己的“绝活”,然后接受大人们的称赞。于是,王超从小就自信满满。八九个月大时,王超一听到家里来客人,就飞快地爬出自己的房间,好奇地盯着客人看。如果大人没看见他,他就—直在那里趴着,直到大人看见他,对他表示喜欢和赞赏,他才肯爬回房间。

做儿子永远的减压器和缓冲剂

不少父母都喜欢给孩子加压,给孩子报这样那样的学习班,逼孩子学这学那,可王瑞阳和余颖却喜欢把儿子从书堆里拽出来,带着他享受学习之外的快乐生活。

王超上小学时,有一次,数学考试得了95分,老师把余颖叫到学校,不断地跟她数落王超粗心马虎、太贪玩,希望她能够配合学校管教儿子,把王超做为尖子生认真培养。老师满面严肃地说完,没想到余颖却笑了起来,老师很诧异地责问余颖:“一分之差就是十名的差距,你怎么还笑得出来?”余颖赶紧收敛了笑容,连连说“是”。其实在她心里,一点也不觉得儿子有什么不好,她不希望儿子从小就分分必争斤斤计较,她希望儿子能改掉马虎的毛病,但不要因为过去的错误而失去快乐的笑容。

后来,余颖感觉到学校的要求越来越严格,于是,和丈夫商量做儿子生活中的“缓冲器”。王超看书久了,她会跑到他的房间“轰”他离开书桌,要他休息或者出去玩耍。王超做习题忘了时间,她就会赶儿子上床睡觉。每一次关键的大考之前,她都跟王超说:“你要做好考最后一名的准备,因为强手如林啊!”而结果往往是,王超又拿了第一。在余颖和王瑞阳看来,学习成绩好的人未必生活能力强,智商高的人未必成就大事业,做为父母,最开心的不是王超的学业比多少人强,而是儿子比别人感到快乐。

学校推荐王超去上奥数班,按照奥数班的要求,每天得做80道题才算合格,而王超只做了20道题,就被妈妈赶上床睡觉了,所以第二天,作业本上就打上个大大的叉。可余颖对此丝毫不介意,如果为拿全国竞赛的一等奖而影响儿子的正常休息,她宁愿儿子什么奖都不拿。于是,王超退出了奥数班。为了不让儿子有挫折感,身为教师的王瑞阳亲自上阵,为儿子开奥数课。每天,他只给儿子挑选5到10道不同类型的题目作练习。每隔一段时间,他会自制一份考卷考儿子。结果,儿子学的比奥数班的孩子们轻松多了,成绩也不错。
