为了激发广大同学学习英语的热情，增强同学们对英语口语的兴趣，营造一个良好的英语学习氛围，给口语爱好者提供一个展现英语风采的舞台，高二年级在年级领导、全体高二英语老师和同学的支持下，于4月10日晚在学校生化楼报告厅成功举行了以“Show Your Talents”为主题的英语演讲比赛。本次比赛本着“公平，公正，公开”的原则，由高二年级英语老师担任评委，其中包括重量级的——————副校长；本次比赛还有幸邀请到英语学科部主任——————老师作为嘉宾。本次比赛共有参赛选手29名。

本次比赛得以较为顺利展开和老师们的前期充分准备分不开的。两周前，备课组提出继上学期的首届“我是单词王”比赛之后，再搞一次英语演讲比赛的提议。提议一抛出，得到全备课组老师们的赞同。接下来，老师们开始在班级积极宣传，展开报名工作，并和参赛同学一起仔细研读比赛规则，进行充分的赛前准备。同时，比赛也得到了同学们的大力支持并积极参与。同学们全力以赴写稿、打磨、一遍一遍地操练，办公室不时有同学在就演讲一事向老师虚心请教。不少同学还利用周末在家利用网络学习演讲技巧，观摩大学生演讲比赛视频。由于时间关系，我们对于参赛人数作了限制，即普通班每班一个名额、重点班每班两个名额参赛。但这种限制丝毫不影响大家的参赛热情，有些班级因报名人数多，如1班、27班等，就在自己班上先进行班级选拔赛。还有众多的班级选手都把自己班的讲台当成了练兵场，有空就到台上操练胆量，找感觉。

本次比赛由主题演讲和即兴演讲两个部分组成。主题演讲有四个题目，即兴演讲有二十个题目，演讲时间均为两分钟。在第一部分，大家表现得非常精彩，有的选手拥有出色的语音、语调；有的选手拥有激情和说服力；有的选手展示了自信的力量。他们在台上或抑扬顿挫，或激情澎湃。在即兴演讲环节，大多选手都能就自己抽中的主题进行较为深入的展开。他们的精彩表现令现场欢声雷动。当然，在演讲过程中，有些选手由于是首次登台，心理素质欠佳，自信心不足，影响了正常水平的发挥。尽管如此，现场师生都被他们这种积极参与、勇于拼搏的精神所感染，给予他们鼓励的掌声。

经过2个多小时的激烈角逐，以及评委老师们公平、公正的评判，25班的————和14班的——均表现十分突出，两位同学凭借流利的表达，纯正的语音语调征服了评委和观众，在众多参赛选手当中脱颖而出，荣获一等奖，并将代表高二年级参加————的首届学生英语演讲比赛；大赛还产生了13名二等奖和14名三等奖。

最后，德高望重的英语科组高级教师——————副校长对本次比赛做了热情洋溢的点评。他高度赞扬了全体参赛选手的积极参与热情和努力拼搏的精神，对他们取得的成绩给予祝贺和肯定。面对全体同学，他说：“学好英语是一个漫长的过程，我们还有很长的路要走。我们要每分、每时、每天练习说英语，让英语充满我们的校园。”——校长还特别强调了英语的重要性，他说：

“In the future, we are not a person in a country, but a person in the world.”

“CCTV杯”全国英语演讲大赛由中国中央电视台与外语教学与研究出版社联合主办。赛事始于2002年, 迄今已成功主办了六届, 涵盖面广, 是具有国际影响力的大赛。“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛由中国最大的英文报刊《中国日报》社于1996年创办, 《21世纪报》社承办。自首届起即被指定为每年在伦敦举办的国际英语演讲比赛的中国赛区选拔赛。重庆首届“昆士兰杯”英语演讲比赛由QETI (昆士兰州政府教育培训国际) 、重庆市教育委员会主办, Queensland Trade and Investment Office-China (昆士兰贸易投资上海代表处) 协办的。英语演讲比赛不仅对选手英语应用能力进行考评, 同时还考察选手的思辩能力和综合素质, 为当代大中学生提供了一个全面展示自我的舞台。按照惯例, 比赛分为复赛和决赛。演讲比赛一般由定题演讲、即兴演讲、回答问题、辩论组成。以本次重庆市“昆士兰杯”演讲比赛为例, 评委由多名外籍和几名中国英语高校教师组成。评分从内容、语言、技巧三方面判断。

二、定题演讲

定题演讲是一种有准备的演讲, 演讲的成功与否在很大程度上取决于演讲稿的质量。而判断一篇演讲稿的好坏主要取决于三大因素, 即演讲稿的内容、结构和语言。

(一) 内容

任何公众场合的演讲, 演讲者都要言之有物。换句话说, 要确定直接的观点。要知道自己在传达什么样的观点和信息。在演讲中, 如果演讲者语音语调很好, 但没有表达出一个中心或观点, 听众就会慢慢失望。以“昆士兰杯”演讲比赛为例, 定题演讲一共有五个主题, 选手可从中自由选取一个。两位参赛选手都不由自主地选取了旅游和读书这个话题, 原因是此话题有话可说, 主题明确。这就为具体的写作铺平了道路。之后就是角度和切入点的问题了。关于旅游和读书这个主题, 切入点和角度就不一样了。有以下几个原则需要注意:第一, 新颖、有独创性。第二, 一定是演讲者深受感动或深有感触的。如此次一等奖获得者的作品, 以“we are all on the journey”为切入点, 联系自身旅行的经历, 自然而然地过渡到了对“旅行和读书”关系内涵的理解。内容仿佛是为他量身定做的, 演讲起来真是生动:曾读过一本书《消失的地平线》, 深深感动, 于是决定自己亲身而行……伴随着他的演讲, 引发了听众的感同身受, 激起了观众响亮的掌声和笑声。

(二) 结构

一篇好的演讲稿需要有清晰的结构, 才能抓住听众的注意力, 更容易让听众跟随演讲主题。结构一般而言分为三个部分:开头、正文及结尾。

一般而言, 开头要以某种特别的方式吸引听众的注意力, 揭示主题, 并告知听众演讲的主要观点。讲故事或自己的亲身经历, 提问设问, 令听众震撼或惊奇, 引用名言或开门见山都行之有效。

正文部分是演讲中最重要的一个环节——传递信息。一般而言, 正文主要包括以下三个方面:1.提出主要观点。2.组织观点。可以是时间顺序型, 可以是空间位置型, 也可以是问题解决型等。3.组织材料支持观点。一定要采用相同的句式来陈述每个主题句。使用过渡词或过渡句, 这样可以使观众了解到演讲者正从一个观点向另一个观点过渡, 帮助他们理清思路。也可以用一些常用的标志词。如:firstly, secondly, thirdly, moreover, in addition, meanwhile, however, as a result, therefore, etc.

(三) 结尾

好的开头也需要一个好的结尾, 避免“龙头蛇尾”。匆匆收尾, 给听众一种未满足的感觉, 未尝不是一种遗憾。一般而言有以下三种方式结尾:1.呼应开头。2.引用别人的话。3.号召听众行动起来。

三、即兴演讲和回答问题

即兴演讲, 顾名思义, 就是临时的、毫无准备的演讲。即兴演讲对于使用母语演讲的人来说都非常困难, 更何况是使用非母语演讲的选手。即兴演讲的题目包罗万象, 从经济、政治、教育、文化、人生到国际问题。要求演讲者平时养成读书看报的习惯, 关注周围发生的焦点问题和时事问题, 积累各个领域的素材, 以便有“谈资”。要求演讲者有思辩能力, 能从不同角度看问题、想问题。回答问题最主要是弄清楚问题是什么。

第一, 背诵赛场上的“套话”, 由于本次“昆士兰杯”演讲比赛只有回答问题环节, 所以给学生准备了套话:“Thank you very much.I understood fully, your question is...”重复或者是用自己的话概括评委的问题, 以确认评委真正想知道的是什么。这一步也是在没有听懂评委的问题的基础上的“不得不”之举。切记不能答非所问。

第二, 反复观摩演讲比赛的录像, 琢磨选手台上的表现, 对问题进行归类, 就每个主题认真准备一篇演讲稿, 同时背诵相关名言名句。

第三, 指导老师进行“魔鬼式”训练。就各个主题提问, 让选手思考后给出有新意的答案。准备时间不会超过三分钟。训练后, 指导老师指导选手找出问题或主题比较有新颖的答案和角度。

四、辩论

辩论是一项非常有意思但却极具挑战性的活动。主要是培养选手迅速分析问题并立即作出反应的能力。辩论同样要检验选手是否具有好的倾听技巧, 是否具有批判性思考问题的能力, 是否能够有效合理地组织自己的观点, 头脑是否开阔, 是否愿意接受新的观点, 改进和修正自己的观点。

因此训练时, 第一, 收集相关主题材料, 找出正反方观点和论据。注意结构的逻辑性和严密性。

第二, “打辩”过程, 和指导老师或者选手之间相互打辩。只有实践才能出“新观点”和“新想法”。同时“打辩”中, 避免出现逻辑错误。

五、结语

演讲越来越受到重视, 不少高校已开设了演讲课程。演讲比赛主要是赛“说”的好坏, 而听得是否准确、写得是否漂亮、读得是否广博又是“说”的基础。通过写演讲稿、演讲训练、阅读素材, 无疑可以开拓学生的思维, 培养他们英语应用能力和思辨能力。让他们就某一主题有话可说, 说之成理。

摘要：本文介绍了国内影响较大的英语演讲比赛, 并从“昆士兰杯”演讲比赛的定题演讲、即兴演讲、回答问题和辩论环节以及台上技巧的角度, 探讨了英语演讲比赛的培训和技巧;并认为把演讲纳入大学课程, 将有利于培养学生的语言应用能力和思辨能力。

演讲的力量从古至今都是能够使人怦然心动的强大力量，它是一种重要的表达思想与达成目标的手段。国际演讲大师Stephen.E.Lucas认为公共演讲是一种将人的思想公之于众的方法，即一种与他人分享观点并影响他人的途径。自2002年起，我国每年举办一次由中央电视台和外语教学与研究出版社联合主办的“外研社杯”（原名“CCTV杯”）全国英语演讲大赛，迄今为止12年中，该赛事为国家外事交流、国际教育、科技政治等方面的进步选拔除了大批优秀的英语人才。他们精神矍铄，舌灿莲花，英语华丽，思辨突出。该赛事最具挑战性以及最能体现选手能力的部分便是即兴演讲环节。无可辩驳的是，英语即兴演讲正在潜移默化中推动学生进步，带动人们观念改变，深刻影响年轻一代的价值观念。

即兴演讲是最考察选手英语功底和思维敏捷度的环节。选手根据大赛组委会给出的一道命题（图片、视频、名言警句、文学介绍等）即席作出一段2分钟左右的演讲。在短暂的准备过程中演讲者不能像准备定题演讲一样广泛细致地搜集材料，而且也没有充分的时间精挑细选，基本上组织内容全仰照选手们的个人功底和文化素养。即兴赛题很大程度上考察选手对各国、各领域文化知识的领会和见解以及举一反三的能力。选手们作出的即兴演讲都是带有个人特征的分析和思考过后的慷慨陈词。文化因素寓于其中，是对知识的实践。在实践中发表看法，交流思想。

“外研社杯”全国英语演讲大赛的即兴演讲时间一般为三分钟，比赛形式主要有个人陈述（3分钟）、小组即兴演讲（3人一组）以及车轮战辩论。在较为段短暂的时间中，能够完整、清晰的阐释自己的观点已属不易，但优秀的选手往往能够通过自己的表达将思想世界公之于众，用思辨和文化的魅力征服评委，征服观众，也征服自己。纵观往届折桂的优秀选手，他们都有一个共同点：不光英语华丽突出，重要的是思想光芒万丈，独树一帜。在冗繁而具有深度的命题中将人们引入自己的内心世界。他们不光有缜密的逻辑、独特的视角，更重要的是无论他们是哪个专业种类的学生，都具有深厚的文化底蕴和文学素养。

As one philosopher once said，“You cant step into the same river twice.”… Right now I can remember a beautiful song.It says，“The love is a traveler on a river of no return.”该作者对河流的看法新鲜加之个人小清新风格，用包含“river”一次的话语和歌词代替个人想法，在即兴演讲中标新立异，文学素养和文化功底可圈可点。

本项赛事的即兴演讲，采用小组赛形式，三人一组分别对同一个题目发表看法。此项不仅考察对文化的认识理解，更进一步考验了选手们思维的广度及文化批判的新辣程度。

以上三位演讲者分别就梵高的画《向日葵》发表个人看法。对于《向日葵》这幅画所代表的意义和背后蕴含的文化内容众选手仁者见仁，智者见智。但进一步了解的基础则必须是对画作表面传达的文化因素进行分析。三位选手分别从梵高个人的生活状态经历、画作本身色彩布局、单一特殊的花朵位置等作为切入点，结合个人知识水平深入剖析，将一样的文化因素赋予了个人魅力，唇齿之间指点江山，思维碰撞出了灿烂的火花。

针对同一文化因素演讲的另一种形式是选手引用同一名人翘楚的名言，将有利于选题的词句作为利器武装思想，为演讲增色。

以上两段演讲中两位选手同样引用了哈利.波特丛书作者J.K.罗琳的事例作为构建演讲的重要素材。但这一人物案例分别就有利于演讲者演讲主题的角度进行取材。

Actually there are a number of teenagers in our real society who are annoyed at the generation gap between our parents and us. Although, our parents always give us their selfless love, unfortunately, we can’t understand each other.

I have the same situation like all the teenagers. I like Jay, but my mother says the songs of him sound too jumbled. And I like wearing jeans, because many girls in our school wear jeans. And they look so beautiful. But my mother says, they’re really smart, but it doesn’t fit you, your main work is study. I have no words. One day, I was surfing on the internet, my parents showed their disapproval to me.

In fact, there are always many things difficult to judge whether they are right or not. Can we say that classical music is absolutely better than rock? Can we say that jeans are better than sport trousers? What is more, Surfing on the Internet does not mean that we are going to overlook our lessons. But many parents make their children accept their points of view on everything, for they want to protect us from making any mistakes.

To be senior school students, We have our own point of views. It is important that we should be contained to make mistakes, which we can learn much from. if our parents can learn to understand the way we think and do things, or meet us half way at the right time, the generation gap may be narrowed. We must understand their love as well. Only by understanding can we forgive others for their mistakes.

梦想，这个看起来难以驾驭的话题，前面的选手们已经讲得很棒了，下面，我想先与大家一起分享一只小飞虫的梦想。

一天晚上，我正专心学习。突然，头顶上传来持续不断的“哒哒”声，扯乱了我的思路。一只小虫，正绕着吊灯飞来飞去，一遍遍地撞击着。终于，它因为体力不支掉在的我面前，不停摆动着纤细的小腿，小肚子一扭一扭的，想要挣扎起来。

“你这只没头脑的虫子，没事竟然来打扰我学习。”我愤怒了，顺手一拍，可它的动作比我快了一步，又飞了起来，继续一根筋地绕着吊灯转圈。看着它拼命扑向吊灯的样子，我犹豫了，难道它真的是故意打扰我，阻碍我努力学习吗?

不是吧，昆虫是用亮光来辨别方向的，趋光，追求光明是它的本性，不是吗?这本性指引着这些小虫觅食、求偶，这本性贯穿了它们的一生。这，正是它们的梦想啊。

追求光明，多么高尚的字眼!无数仁人志士崇高的理想，竟然也蕴含在一只微小的虫子身上!我瞬间对它有了一丝敬意。但瞬间我也有一点疑惑，为什它这个崇高的梦想，就这样被我们忽视，甚至就因为我们想要一个安静的工作环境，会被一掌拍碎呢?

我们总固执地认为，自己的梦想，才是这世界上最崇高的追求。于是，对妨碍我们前进的弱于我们的物，或人，我们毫不犹豫地逼迫他们让路。

学生，可以在学习时毫不犹豫地拍死一只小虫，来满足自己安静学习的梦想;领导高管，可以把脏活累活粗活全部扔给下级职工，来推动自己成就事业的梦想;超级大国，可以随便地掠夺其他国家的石油、原料、劳动力，用弱小民族的资源，来达成他们享受世界最高生活水平的梦想……

时间过得真快，我们从来到银翔到今天将近451天，在这段时间，我们共同经历了入格培训、缤纷节、穿行春野、篮球赛、军训等的活动，这里有我们的稚嫩，有我们的精彩，有我们的欢声，有我们的泪水，当然也有我们的青春记忆，一路走来，孩子们你们长大了，懂得感恩，懂得努力，懂得上进。从刚才表彰的同学们的各项成绩来看，我们与本部的孩子相比，我们并不差，我们银翔学子就是要通过努力让别人知道我们的存在，因为野百合也有春天。

进入了高二，和高一有着很大的不同，高一是懵懂，那么高二就是奋发，高三才能水到渠成，我们千万不要有这样的幻想，像我的中考一样，复习一年就可以大幅度提升，高考则不然，高二决定你的高度，高三决定你大学的层次。所以孩子们不要等待，因为生命只有走出来的精彩，没有等待出来的辉煌。

王国维在《人间词话》中，谈到做学问的三个境界。其实也是实现我们人生价值的三个历程。

第一层：昨夜西风凋碧树，独上高楼，望尽天涯路。那就是一定要有目标感，一定要充满希望。即使自己平凡如草，也要拼命吸收阳光雨露，为世间留一抹绿色。即使自己平凡如蚕，艰难的爬行，但也要珍藏一个梦，一个破茧成蝶的梦。不要为自己当下的不如意，而放弃希望，因为命运从来就是掌握在自己的手中。安老师最近读了一本名叫《礼物》的书。里面有这样一段话：每一件发生在我们身上的事情都是一个礼物。只是有的礼物包装得很难看，让我们心怀怨恨和恐惧。如果能带着信心、耐心，勇敢地拆开这个惨不忍睹的外壳包装，你会享受到它内在蕴含的丰盛美好，而且是精心为你量身打造的礼物。所以，遇到挫折，孩子们要记住这是上帝对我们的考验。孟子不是说过，故天将大任于斯人也，必先苦其心志，劳其筋骨，饿其体肤，空乏其生，行拂乱其所为，其实挫折是实现人生的蜕变的阶梯。记住安老师的一句话，我们的人生就如我们的心电图，有波峰也有波谷，有挫折也有欣喜，这才是我们人生的真相。

第二层：衣带渐宽终不悔，为伊消得人憔悴。希望的实现，一定要有所付出。冰心曾经说过：成功的花儿，人们只惊羡它现时的美丽。可当初它芽儿浸透了奋斗的泪水，洒遍了牺牲的细雨。所以我们只是看到成功者光鲜亮丽的一面，却忽视了他们背后所付出的`代价。所以千万不要在最能吃苦的时候选择安逸，没有谁的青春是在红地毯上走过。既然梦想成为那个别人无法企及的自我，就应该选择一条属于自己的道路，付出别人无法企及的努力。就得有吃苦精神。著名作家龙应台在写给自己儿子安德烈的一封信中这样写道：我要求你读书用功，不是因为我要你跟别人比成就，而是因为，我希望你将来拥有更多选择的权利，选择有意义、有时间的工作，而不是被迫谋生。可能有的同学会问，我现在努力，还来得及吗？有时候你想的越多，越什么事都干不成。认准目标就静下心来，总会有结果。所以接下来的时间，不要问时间够不够，什么基础行不行。这些都是次要的。最主要的是你要从现在吃苦，开始用功。孩子，如果老天善待你，给了你优越的生活，请不要收敛了自己的斗志；如果老天对你百般设障，更请不要磨灭了对自己的信心与勇气。因为只有经历地狱般的磨练，才能炼出创造天堂的力量，只有流过血的手指，才能弹出世间的绝唱。无论面对怎样的考验，请记住世界以痛吻我，而我却报之以歌。

第三层：众里寻他千百度，蓦然回首，那人却在灯火阑珊处。付出总有收获，努力终有回报。就如白岩松送给困境中的柴静的一句话：人们号称最幸福的岁月，其实往往是最痛苦的，只不过回忆起来非常的美好。当我们走过这段崎岖，当我们爬过这段险峰，当我们穿过这段冷暖，当回首时，我们才会无悔自己的人生。

专家点评:引用文学大师的诗句作为开场白，与结束语首尾呼应，颇有感染力。东西方文化的融合表现得十分鲜明，意味深长，是篇优秀的演讲。crossing the sea good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.the title of my speech today is crossing the sea.an english poet by the name of rudyard kipling once wrote in his poem we and they: all the people like us are we and everyone else is they we live over the sea while they live over the way we eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives they who gobble their rice off a leaf are horrified out of their lives.when these lines first caught my eyes, i was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? todays society, of course, is an entirely different picture.those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.indeed, just take china as an example: our modern life has been influenced by western style of living in so many ways that its no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at mcdonalds and even rather elderly people dressed in apple jeans.however, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today.what is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nations mentality.just look around.it is therefore evident that we as descendants of an ancient eastern civilization are already living under strong inf1uence of the western culture.but it is not only in china that we find the incorporation of the two cultures.take the chinese acupuncture as another example: this traditional treatment of diseases is finally finding its way to the west and hence the underlying notion that illness is resulted from the imbalance between yin and yang within the body--an idea which would strike any westerner as incredible in the past!ladies and gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before.we live in a particular era when countries, east and west, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values.we live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happiness of the whole human race.to cope with such an era and to embrace an even brighter therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between china and the rest of the world.it is my happiest dream that the new generation of chinese will not only grow up drinking coca-cola and watching hollywood, but also be blessed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures;benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of.to end my speech, i would like to quote rudyard kipling again: all the people like us are we and everyone else is they but once you cross over the sea you will end by looking on we as only a sort of they thank you.译文:穿越海洋
