初中生之所以写不好小作文, 其原因有以下几种:单词拼写错误、词汇贫乏、语法不通、时态不准确、句型乱用、条理不清晰等, 这些都表明学生的基本功有待提高。词汇是写好作文的基础, 学生在写作时经常会忘记单词的拼法, 其错误主要集中在一些形相似、音相近的单词上。因此, 在英语教学时, 教师应注重词汇教学, 引导学生区分易混淆的单词, 增进学生的记忆效果。例如:在英语作文教学中, 我经常给学生整理一些易错的词汇, 便于学生更好地记忆。如同音词:weather和whether、father和farther、there和their等, 还有同类词:表示球类的football、volleyball、basketball等;表示月份的January、April、February等, 还有表示职业类、水果类的单词等。此外, 我还坚持让学生听英语课文录音、收听英文广播、观看英文电视节目等。词汇教学的关键在于重复, 教师有意识地让学生反复训练, 可以有效加强学生的记忆, 扩大学生的词汇储备。
