一、研究的对象及分组

我院商务英语专业于2002年招收了110名初中毕业生。入学之初, 编为三个教学班级。2002年9月份, 根据专业教学需要, 通过考试将一部分同学以未位淘汰方式调离该专业, 将原来的三个教学班级根据成绩随机的原则缩编为两个。1班33人, 2班55人。分班后, 根据学生听力、口语及阅读语法词汇综合能力考试的成绩将三科总分在180-255分 (中上等成绩) 的同学作为研究对象。其中1班20人, 2班42人。该两个教学班级在课程结构、任课教师的选用及教学方法及教学手段方面都是一致的。并且, 在整个测试过程中, 不向学生说明研究测试过程的目的、内容等, 以期能得到最自然状态的测试结果。

二、测试方法及测试材料

两个教学班级在进行了九个学期的学习之后, 于2006年12月份, 对其进行听力, 口语, 阅读和语法综合能力三项测试。测试成绩均记载为学生2006-2007第一学期期未成绩。每个考试均有两名监考教师。口语考试采用由所聘来自加拿大的外教Joe一对一的方式进行。Joe音色柔和, 语速适中。每个学生抽签选择三个问题。考试时间为15分钟。口语成绩从语音语调 (20%) 、语言结构 (30%) 、语法逻辑 (30%) 、语言流畅度 (20%) 等几个方面分别取分加和的方法进行。考试时间为40分钟。阅读语法词汇综合能力考试均采用历年大学英语四级考试真题。采取阅读理解 (7段短文 (30个选择60分) ) 和完形填空 (2道40个空40分) 两种题型。考试时间为100分钟。

三、测试结果

1、听力测试结果:

根据数理统计方法中Gosset的t值检验法, 对听力测试结果进行分析, 取显著性水平α=0.05因通过查表t0.05, 60=2.00, 比较后得知t值>t0.05, 60, 则两个班之间有显著性差异。

2、口语测试结果:

四、结果分析与讨论

从测试的结果可见, 在其它各方面的条件相同的情况下, 由班级人数差异引起的学习结果差异是显著性的。这种差异在高职院校中的存在更为明显。因为大多学生是住宿生, 班级同学太多, 学生在学习过程中相互干扰的可能性和机会就大大增加, 而且课上教师对学生的了解也会大打折扣, 与学生个别进行情感交流的机会也不多, 也不利于因材施教。另外, 大班中的学生在课上回答问题及表现自己的机会也不如小班上课多。对于学生的课后作业, 教师在批阅时, 其认真程度也难以保证一致, 一般而言, 教师在批改主观性作业如英语作文时, 小班 (如33人) 与大班 (55人) 的批改量是有显著差别的, 并且与学生反馈作文批改意见时, 其详细程度必因学生人数多少的不同而有所不同。那么学生得到详细指导的机会也就必然存在着显著的差异。这里所说的这些方面的差异并非是由于责任心的不同也产生的, 而是客观上的条件所造成的。简单地说, 一堂课100分钟, 你讲课用去50分钟, 另外50分钟用于学生练习及对其辅导。那么每个学生得到的辅导机会在大班 (如55人) 及小班 (33人) 上课两种情况下无论如何也不可能相同, 而且也是不可能有机会在课上得到弥补的。而且从各个测试项目的相对标准偏差来看, 均是1班小于2班, 这表明, 小班学生的学习成果分散性小, 成绩相对比较集中, 成绩偏低同学较少。大班同学分散性大, 出现较多成绩偏低的同学。

摘要：在高职院校的英语教学中, 本人针对班额大小对英语学习效果的影响进行了为期四年的比较研究。研究结果表明, 在其它条件相同的情况下, 小班英语教学要比大班授课教学效果更好, 小班额英语教学无疑是英语教学的发展方向。

我沉思，再沉思！我心情无比的沉重！为什么看似简单的事情会变得五花八门呢？孩子们，究竟是怎么想得呢？我一再地责问他们，难道这真的全是他们的错吗?难道责备就能解决问题吗？不能！

Dear Mr. Wang,

I am writing to inform you about my decision to resign from my current position. There are a few factors involved that I find intolerable.

First of all, the salary has proven to be much lower than you originally promised, and I have a large family to support. In addition, the office is located in the downtown area, yet I live in the suburbs, so it is exhausting for me to spend over three hours commuting every day. 一、遣词造句

首先，本文用词准确。例如，current position中的current，(spend over three hours) commuting中的commuting，(any really important) responsibility中的responsibility。其次，句型多变。有并列句，如第二段首句。还有较多的复合句，包含主句与从句，如第二段的.第二句与第三句。当然，衔接手段也很丰富，具体内容会在明天的总结中谈到。

二、文体规范

所谓文体，就是考研大纲中所说的语域问题。小作文主要考查两类文体，即正式文体与非正式文体。写给团体或机构的书信一般使用正式语言，即不用缩略语和口语用法。非正式文体主要涉及写给朋友的书信，可以使用缩略语和口语用法。上面的信是写给团体负责人的，所以用语正式。
