本模块是外研社小学英语教科书四年级（上）教材第七模块，该模块分别围绕There is a horse in this photo.和There are twelve boys on the bike.展开某处存在某物的话题，在教材创设的看照片和看杂技的真实情境中引出三组情境对话，一首歌曲和多个任务项目。某处存在某物的话题十分实用，此话题学生使用广泛，且与生活联系十分紧密。四年级学生已经初步掌握了一些生活中常见动物和物品的名词词汇和日常数字的表达法。在本模块学习中，重点通过听、说、读、写等活动使学生掌握本模块主要交际语言：There is.../There are.../She’s riding a horse.以及相关的功能词汇，并能通过学习，进一步发展学生的语言描述能力，能简单介绍现实生活中物品的位置与状态。

Watch and act.活动规则：教师播放介绍小动物的视频（horse,sheep等），让学生一起扮演小动物，跟着视频一起说单词，对新单词有初步的认知。

设计意图：师生通过与学生间的表演互动，使学生在音乐节奏的支撑下感悟动物单词和there be 词组的发音和意义，为后面学习描述物品做好铺垫，而且也能调动学生用英语交流，参与英语活动的积极性。

Step 2 Presentation 1.学习：Listen and chant.(1)出示chant 中的照片，让学生观察图片并回答问题：What can you see?(学生遇到不会回答的问题，教师进行指导）

(2)学生仔细观察图片，展开合理想象并回答老师的问题：

—Who is the girl? —She is Amy.—What is she doing? —She is riding a horse.提到horse时提醒学生注意与house的区别，用图片进行比较。

（3）播放chant 的幻灯片，让学生认真观看并跟读。（学着说，并提醒学生注意模仿语音语调，感知今天要学的内容：There is...,为新课学习做铺垫）

（4）向班级推荐手抄报的图片，并用There is...in the photo.描述自己推荐的照片。

教师组织学生分为两人一组，操练句型：There is...What is she / he doing?(5)教师引导学生将讨论结果展示交流。

(6)听录音，模仿chant ,并讲解chant 的中文意思，使学生掌握单词、句子读法和歌谣的韵律。

设计意图：内容的呈现，旨在让学生通过完成听、说活动进一步加强巩固对如何描述事物的学习，同时感知并理解新课授课中涉及的词汇和句型。

2.学习：Listen,point and find “There is...”（1）T：Class,do you want to see some photos? S:Yes!多媒体显示动物照片及Amy 的照片。T:Let’s have a look.讲解新词组 have a look。(2)Chant.教师为学生播放自编的chant,学生倾听模仿并了解其中的内容。Look ,look ,have a look,let’s have a look.设计意图：通过吟唱chant,操练词组have a look。此时chant 的运用使枯燥的机械操练变得不再单调和乏味。

（3）通过Amy 的照片介绍新单词：sheep ,vegetable 教师为学生播放自编的chant : Sheep,sheep,sheep,eating what? Look,look,look,vegetable,vegetables.(带领学生模仿小羊吃草的动作)教师为学生播放自编的chant : Cat,cat,cat,doing what,doing what? Climbing trees,climbing trees.(带领学生模仿小猫爬树的动作）

设计意图：通过模仿生动有趣的小动物动作，并配上朗朗上口的歌谣，孩子们的学习兴趣变得浓厚，掌握单词更快。

（4）介绍每张照片时，都询问学生：“What can you see in the picture?”引导学生用“There is...”回答。之后，让学生两人一组，分别选取不同的照片进行对话，练习“There is...”句型。

出示一张看不清Amy 脸庞的照片，询问学生 T:Can you see her face ? S:No.T:Yes,we can’t see her face.教师可以指着自己的脸，继续询问： T:What’s this? S: Face.带领学生摸着自己的脸，说出“face”。

设计意图：通过真实的语言情景让学生理解单词的意思和句型用法；在操练句型的同时学习单词和短语，让学生在学中用，用中学。（5）Game:猜动物。每名学生画一个小动物，画朝下放在桌子上。学生模仿自己画的小动物的特征及动作等。其他学生用“There is...in your picture.”来猜，猜对者，可以获得该图片，谁手里的图片多就是胜者。

设计意图：为增添趣味性，使学生们在游戏中巩固操练重点词汇和 there be 句型，同时培养学生的合作意识。

（6）Listen again(part2)and answer the questions.Who’s the girl? What is she doing?（7）角色扮演。

教师把头饰交给学生，让他们分别扮演Sam ,Amy ,Daming 进行表演。

设计意图：小学生想象力丰富，善于模仿，具有强烈的表现欲；教师让学生进行角色表演，可以调动学生的学习积极性，使学生主动参与教学活动，大胆地说和夸张地演。

Step 3 Consolidation 1.完成任务（1）让学生描述小组成员的手抄报，用上新学的单词或句子。（四人小组讨论手抄报的内容，合作画一幅画或推荐一幅图，作为班级手抄报的图片，并用There is...He is...来描述图片）（2）拓展新知。

游戏：出示重点新闻图片，让学生描述。例如：杨利伟在太空的照片，习主席在庆丰包子铺的照片等，引导学生描述，教师进行指导和讲解。

本课设计遵循新《英语课程标准》中强调的“能在图片的帮助下听懂、读懂并讲述简单的故事。在学习中乐于参与、积极合作、主动请教。”的理念，注重在学习语言知识和内容的同时，培养学生口头表达的能力和观察、想象、记忆、思维的能力，以及解决实际问题的能力。在整个教学过程中体现以生为本的原则，根据学生的年龄特点和学习水平，进行各种活动，力求做到面向全体，促进全员参与。通过体验学习、小组合作学习等方式使不同层次的学生得到不同程度的发展。

二、教学设计

（一）教学目标：

Show the pictures of the four seasons and a calendar, learn spring, autumn, October, September, and October.

（4）Read the story again, and repeat: Today is Mocky’s birthday.

Write down the dialogue and read.

三、教学反思

“Mocky’s birthday”是小学英语北师大版第九册第四单元的内容。本单元的重点是关于询问及介绍生日，年龄的句型，以及十二个月份的学习。本堂课的教学选择了第一课时，关于课文教学。课文由Mocky看到桌上的礼物，猜测是谁过生日，由此引入关于询问和介绍自己生日和年龄的对话。

在教学中，我利用课件的展示把学生引入到课文的情境中去，由听力练习，到模仿对话，学习单词，再到自读课文，运用对话，由学习到模仿再到运用。

反思这堂课，在前半部分学习新知的环节上，先设计学生整体感知，再由整体到句，词，对新单词的学习采用了随文识字的方法，边听边读边学，分解了课文的难度。学生在学习时也就不会有太难而学不懂的感觉。

总之，课堂是教学的主阵地，是学生展示的舞台。教学要变学生被动学习为主动学习，让他们积极主动参与获取知识的全过程，让他们认识到英语的价值，生活中离不开英语，使他们喜欢英语，乐学英语。

为巩固新知,我设计一个游戏,老鹰捉小鸡, 游戏教学即能使学生乐于参与其中，在玩中学，在学中玩，又能巩固知识，使学生学得愉快，老师教得轻松。
