一、遵循规律, 将有为的冲动转化为教学准备

英语学科虽然与其它学科分属不同语言系统, 但这丝毫改变不了它理应遵循的规律。对于英语教师而言, 更应认真学习和坚决执行普适的教学规律。经常听到英语教师这样表述:“英语是学生生疏的学科, 需要大量地记忆词汇和语法知识, 因而最有效的教学方法就是尽可能全面地呈现知识, 让学生有个努力的方向。”客观地讲, 这里面有合理的因素, 因为不少英语知识是需要记忆的。但是, 把英语学习全部归结为记忆则是个错误的认知。教学实际中的情况常常是教师教得很全面、细致、准确, 但是学生学得很零碎、吃力, 漏洞较多。

为什么教师的理想没有实现?因为他们将全部的学习任务在既定强记策略的前提下, 全部交由学生漫无边际、毫无方法地自行完成。这就像交代给小孩一个做饭任务, 他没有任何经验, 连间接经验都没有, 怎么能煮出可口的米饭呢?不管任务交付者出于怎样的良好动机, 这种无指导的目标都难以实现。为此, 在教学之前, 意欲有为的教师都应做好教学实施之前的准备工作。

以这节复习课为例, 教者可事先编制摸底练习, 让学生自行排查在这类语法现象掌握方面的漏洞, 继而通过组内互助的方式, 初步“补漏”。课堂前半部分, 应着重各人疑难问题的集中呈现和答疑;后半部分则通过检测练习的方式, 再次“查漏”, 继而借助全班 (包括老师) 的力量, 完成二级“补漏”工作;课后, 教师还要引导学生建构起更为全面和准确的动词带不定式的语法体系, 借机完成三级“补漏”工作。

二、突出主体, 将无为的设想转化为学习行动

无论怎样, 只有当学生的主体作用发挥了, 学习活动才真正开始;只有当学生的主体作用有效发挥了, 学习活动才变得更加有意义和有效能。为此, 教师要想方设法将自己隐身于幕后的无为设想转化为学生实在的有为活动。例如, 有学生在做动词带不定式检测题时, 不知道什么情况下用不带to的方式。教师应不急于将自己的认知情况不假思索、毫无保留地呈现出来, 而是先让学生自行比较习题中带to和不带to的情况, 用归类的方法探究其规律。经过比对, 学生终于有了比较清晰的认识, make、let、see、here这些动词之后带的是不带to的动词。但是, 还带有死记硬背的印记。为此, 教师可鼓励学生再比较思考。经过一段时间的深思熟虑, 学生终于领悟到规律, 像make、let这一类使役或祈使动词和see、here这一类感官动词之后带的是不带to的动词。事实上, 经由这种学生主体倾力参与的学习效益突出, 以后再遇到这类题目, 他们总能准确而迅速地完成答题。需要补充的是, 教师要积极营建学习小组, 让先进学生从中发挥引领作用, 让后进学生从中引发追赶冲动和实际学习行为。在这样的小组内, 每位学生都会有为, 而学生越有为, 教师就越无为, 而且无为的效益就越好。

三、强化反思, 将有为的思考转化为无为的自觉

一、教师要塑造健康的自我, 能够包容学生

只有健康的教师才能教出健康的学生。进入新世纪, 健康的内涵更为丰富, 心理健康就是其中一个很重要的内容。这一点, 早在1948年世界卫生组织的成立宣言中就已明确指出:“健康是指身体上、心理上和社会上的完满状态, 而不仅是没有疾病的状态。”作为教师, 我们有责任塑造健康的自我, 做好学生的榜样。乐观、豁达、开朗和宽容是一个教师必须具备的心理素质。另外, 教师要有良好的情绪控制能力。如果我们经常被情绪所动, 带着生活和工作中的压力走进教室, 必然不能让课堂充满活力。并且, 由教师的负性情绪引起的沉重气氛会让学生手忙脚乱, 畏首畏尾, 达不到快乐学习的效果。更糟的是如果教师带着情绪走进教室, 将一腔怒火发给学生, 我们很难想象这会给学生心理造成多大的伤害。相反, 如果我们能够宽容地对待学生, 能用和蔼的态度悦纳学生, 用认真倾听的态度与学生相处, 那么, “好言一句三冬暖”, 你不但能给学生一个表述的机会, 而且还能让学生在你关爱的和风细雨中感受到师爱的伟大。长此以往, 学生定会将老师当作一个可信的朋友, 乐于将自己的心声与之倾吐。那时, 即便是真正有错误的学生也会有悔改的诚意了。

小学生生理和心理的发育都还不成熟, 尚未树立起正确的人生观、世界观和价值观。正如我教过的一个小学生所说的一样, 有时候他们根本就不知道自己是对还是错, 但老师一时冲动的情绪会影响到一个班所有学生的学习兴趣。所以, 作为教师, 要想当好学生的“镜子”, 就不要吝惜激励的言语, 不要轻易放过给每一位学生热情鼓励和真诚帮助的机会, 帮助他们建立起良好的自信, 使他们勇敢地面对学习和生活中的挫折和困难。换句话说, 教师要用正确的评价尺度, 针对每个学生的个性特点及学习状况给予恰当的评价。古语说得好:“天生我才必有用。”善于发现学生的闪光点, 鼓励学生的点滴进步, 映射出学生身上的一切可激发他们上进的东西并加以合理的引导, 便能唤起学生莫大的上进心。对于学生的缺点和不足, 绝对不能一味地批评指责, “人非圣贤, 孰能无过”, “过而改之”就是人生的最高境界。有了这样的认识, 教师便能正确地对待学生的错误和缺点, 鼓励他们正确地评价自己, 不断地积累学习与生活的经验, 使他们逐渐成长起来。教师作为学生的一面“镜子”, 只有能显现出学生的闪光点, 帮助学生增强自信心, 让他们敢于面对困难, 才算是真正体现了“甘为人梯”的师德格言。

三、教师要成为榜样, 让学生站在自己的肩上看得更远
