第一卷

一、作文。

9:00到9:10是播放考场指令和发作文考卷的时间。考生可以这段时间拿到含有作文题目的第一卷答题卡。在这段时间里，严格的考官不允许考生动笔作答。不少考生往往会因此而埋怨考官，同时也影响自己的心情，对考试不利。其实这大可不必。即使考官允许你动笔，建议大家也不要急于作答。我们应该利于这几分钟时间来构思一下作文，也就是在心里列一个提纲，想想大概怎么写，以避免全局性错误。这样到了9:10就可以顺利地进行作文了。只要你的作文没有偏题、字数足够，没有出现名词单复数、动词单复数以及动词时态上的错误，相信15分满分的作文你已经可以拿10分了。

然而对很多基础较差的理科考生来说，如何写够120个单词却是他们最大的问题。四级作文一般会给出3点提要，怎么对其进行丰富来凑够120个单词其实是在我们动笔前“构思”那一步所要做的事情。以今年6月四级的作文为例。题目给出了下面3点内容：

1.如今不少学生在英语学习中不重视拼写

2.出现这种情况的原因

3.为了改变这种状况，我认为…

基于第一点，我们可以说“随着社会和经济的发展，英语被广泛应用在生活的各个方面。大学生学习英语的态度更加积极了；而学习英语也变得更加容易。但是不少学生在英语学习中不重视拼写。英语写作中过多的拼写错误让老师们为之担忧。这一问题已成为了公众的焦点。”

基于第二点提到的“原因”，我们可以说“一，许多大学生并不经常用英语写文章，即使写也是在电脑上写。而电脑的应用程序可以自动完成拼写检查，所以我们不用自己检查拼写是否有误。二，在许多英语考试里即使拼写有错也能拿高分，这样学生就有充分的理由忽略拼写了。三，社会上很多工作要求让同学们感觉到阅读和口语才是最重要的，不一定要写得好，所以可以不管拼写。”

而第三点就是自己解决问题的办法了，发挥的空间就更大了。比如说：“基于这一问题的重要性，我们必须采取有效的办法来防止情况进一步恶化。我认为在英语考试中要设置更多的要求考生拼写单词的问题，以强调拼写的重要性。另外我们可以搜集社会中与拼写相关的真实案例与同学们进行分享，加强同学们的意识……”

如果能把上面这么意思都用英语表达出来，相信是不会有“字数不足”的情况出现了。不要看上面好像有很多个字，其实我们在想的时候，这么多内容也就是花几分钟的时间就够了。不信？你试快速默读一下止面的文字看看要多长时间就知道了。

是不是发现作文能否写够规定的字数是个“非英语”问题？作文能否写好主要还是取决于你对话题是否有自己的看法。当然了，如果不懂单词的话你是“不敢想”的，这个会限制你的发挥。

另外，有些学生喜欢先在稿纸上写好了再抄到答题卡上。我不赞成这种做法。因为时间有限，这样做只会让你到最后手忙脚乱。建议在9:35前写完作文。

二、快速阅读。

考官会在9:35发含有快速阅读的试题册，但9:40才允许做。如果这个时候你已经写完作文，那么抓紧时间看快速阅读。

快速阅读所问的问题是按照其对应的内容在文章中出现的先后顺序来设置的。那么怎么做？

一，先看第一题题目的问题，但不要看那四个选项（这个时候看选项只会浪费时间）。然后从文章的开头起快速扫描，直到找到与题干相同的单词或结构相同的短语所在的句子认真看一遍，顺便画上一条横线；然后去看题目的四个选项，这样你就可以找到答案了；如果还不行再进行扩散阅读。如今年6月的试卷中的第一题，题目为What eventually made Carla Toebe realize she was spending too much time on the Internet? 扫描发现文章第三自然段最后一行有一个单词realized。再把它所在的这句话看完：Her household bills piled up, along with the dishes and dirty laundry, but it took near-constant complaints from her four daughters before she realized she had a problem.看完后我们再看选项，马上可得A为正确答案。

二，做完第一题后马上看第二题的题目（同样不要去看那四个选项），然后从出现第一题答案所在勉句子的下一段开始扫描，寻找在题干中出现过的单词。用上面所说的方法做题。如6月试卷中的第二题，题目为What does the author say about excessive Internet use? 我看浏览文章时很快可以看到第6自然段第句话里面有excessive Internet use。但第一句话很短，我们再去看选项时找不到答案。那么我们再从这一句往后看，把这个自然段看完后再去看选项，发现D是正确答案。

三，如果题目问题中有出现人名的，那么我直接找到这个人名所在的那一自然段进行阅读很快就可以选出答案。

所以做快速阅读的方法是：看一道题的题目，按顺序浏览一次文章，选出答案；做完一道题再看下一题的题目，然后从出现上一道题答案的句子的下面一段开始浏览文章内容，选出答案„„这样依次把题目做完即可。而快速阅读中的最后3道填空题对应的内容也在文章的最后面，题干中会使用相同意思的单词或者短语来替换文章的内容。此时需要阅读的内容也剩下不多，只要能读懂题目就可轻而易举地找到答案。

第二卷

一、听力理解。

9:55—10:00收答题卡一并发听力试卷。同学们要尽快戴上耳机试音。确定设备没有问题后马上阅读第19题起的选项，因为这些是长对话和文章理解的题目。而前面的题目可以在录音读题目要求的时候快速浏览。

所有选择题的内容都只读一遍，大家千万不能走神。如果是短对话的某一道题没有听清楚，那就自己猜一个答案算了，马上集中精神听下一题。

听长对话和文章理解的时候那建议认真把录音听完再做题。最后一题复式听写其实不难。如果你是大二的学生，那么这里要求你写的单词基本在你所学过的《新视野大学英语读写教程》中出现过。这一题的题目要求里说你可听三遍录音。听第一遍理解大意，听第二遍填写单词，第三遍填写后面的三个句子。

其实我们在听第一遍的时候就可以把要填的单词的前3个字母写出来。每两个空之间的时间间隔足够你写3个字母。但在听第一遍的时候不要填写句子，而是要听大意。听第二遍的时候把所有的单词补全，然后可以后面句子的前两个或三个单词写出来。听最后一遍时把所有句子完成。虽然题目说可以用自己的话来填写后面三个句子，但建议尽量按原文写出来，因为你没有太多的时间思考其他的表达方式。

二、翻译。

为什么我把翻译放在这里讲？因为我建议做完听力后先做翻译，再做剩下的题目。

第二卷的作答时间是10:00到11:20，听力部分要用去大概35分钟。大家还有45分钟的时间去完成功3篇阅读理解（20道题）、一篇完形填空（20道题），以及5道翻译题。这里一共是45道题。填答题卡大概要花去5分钟。那么就是说平均不到一分钟大家就要完成一道题。这么短的时间对于大多数考生来说都是不够用的。所以很多人最后的10道题都是猜的，而不是经过思考做出来的。

既然是这样，我们就必须先做翻译了。因为如果不够时间的话，我们可以给选择题猜一个答案，这样也有25%的中奖概率。但翻译是不能猜的。

有些人知道时间不够，也知道翻译不能猜，但还是把翻译放在最后做，因为他们觉得翻译很难，反正也做不对，没必要在那里浪费时间。

其实翻译并不难，里面所要填写的短语也可以在大家学过的英语课本里找到。如果你觉得课本太厚了不方便携带，那么可以去“百度文库”里下载那些《四级高频词组》打印出来背，就几张纸而已。

三、深度阅读。

深度阅读一共3篇文章，题目提示用25分钟完成。那么我们就要计划一下时间安排了。第一篇，9到10分钟；第二篇，6到7分钟；第三篇6到7分钟。并且每做完10道题就填一次答题卡。

后面的两篇最好每篇用5分钟来完成，因为文章不长，不超过350个词。而且答题的思路与做快速阅读的差不多，题目基本按文章内容顺序设置。看一道题做一道题；按顺序看题，按顺序看文章。不同的是最后一题有可能是主旨题。但如果你看了前面4道题的内容，到了最后一道题你不用再去看文章也可以知道答案。

第一篇相对较难，要从15个单词里选出10个填到文章的空格里；而且没有说明哪4个选项是属于那一道题的。其实这一道题也不难。我们只从词性出发，逐个排除就行。

做这一篇阅读理解的时候直接看到空格所在的那一句（没有空格的句子可以先不看），根据空格前后的单词判断空格所填单词的词性，再根据意思选择答案；找不到答案再阅读前后两句辅助理解。如果你不能确定这个空应该选哪一个，那么先把它空着，把那些自己可以确定的先做了，这样就可以慢慢缩小后面选择的范围了。如6月试卷中的47题，空格后面的词是wasteful，形容词。那么空格就应该填上一个副词。先项里面只有G）incredibly是副词，所以选G。48题空格后面的单词是them，那么空格里要填的词应该是动词，选项里有3个动词，根据意思我们选择K）replace。

记住，词性出发，逐个排除，先做自己确定的。

四、完形填空。

完形填空主要考查考生对词义的把握，区分拼写相似的单词。

总结：

英语四级考试是对大学生基本英语技能的考查，大多数人都是可以通过它来取得参加英语六级考试的资格的（425分）。但是考试时间很紧，很多考生都无法在规定时间内完成所有题目，甚至答题卡都没来得及填写。为了避免在忙乱中出错，建议大家做选择题的时候要把答案写在题号的左边，每做完10道题就涂一次答题卡。

怎么备考？如果你是一个英语课里认真听讲，平时努力学习英语的学生，那么你可以复习自己课本里学过的单词和短语，有空就看看英语文电影，听一下VOA慢速英语。

如果你是要抱佛脚的，那么你可以到百度文库下载四级专用资料来背。如“四级听力词汇”、“四级高频词组”、“完形填空高频词汇”之类的。

怎么背？把一个发音好的同学，让他把你所用的资料里的单词和短语录下来：先读中文，再读英文。平时走路的时候你就可以戴上耳机来听。
