全国大学英语四六级考试 (College English Test, 简称CET) 自1987年正式实施 , 1年2次 , 是教育部主管的一项全国性的教学考试, 也是一项大规模标准化的考试。在二十多年里, 大学英语四六级考试促进了大学英语教学大纲的贯彻与执行, 促进了我国大学英语课程教学质量的提高。大学英语四六级考试因为对大学生的英语综合能力进行了比较客观、准确的测量及其较好的测试、 信度和效度而得到了社会的广泛认可。学外国语学院,

随着大学英语教学改革的不断推进, 为进一步提高教学质量和学生的英语综合应用能力, 大学英语四六级考试进行过几次改革和调整。2005年6月, 四六级笔试成绩开始采用满分为710分的计分体制, 不设及格线, 成绩报道方式由考试合格证书改为包括总分和单项分的成绩报告单。2008年12月和2009年12月, 分别首次实施了大学英语四六级网络考试 (In- ternet-Based CET) 。2012年12月, 教育部考试中心对全国大学英语四六级笔试全面实施“多题多卷”的考试形式。2013年12月, 全国大学英语四六级考试委员会对笔试的试卷结构和测试题型作局部调整。调整后, 四六级的试卷结构和题型相同, 原复合式听写调整为单词及词组听写, 原快速阅读理解调整为长篇阅读理解, 原单句汉译英调整为段落汉译英, 翻译内容涉及中国的历史、文化、经济、社会发展等。目前, 大学英语四六级考试实行笔试和计算机网络考试并行的方式。

一、大学英语网考的优势

大学英语网考是英语四六级考试的网络化考试形式。2008年12月, 全国53所试点高校首次实施了大学英语网络考试 (Internet-Based CET) , 2009年12月, 68所院校进行了六级第一次网络考试。此后每年的4、5、6、10、11、12月, 大学英语网络考试共有6次在全国各个试点院校连续进行。相比传统的大学英语四六级纸笔考试 (Paper-Based CET) , 大学英语网络考试有许多优势。

1.技术优势

计算机网络信息技术迅速发展, 加快了大学英语改革的进程, 也使大学英语网络考试成为必然。随着现代信息技术的发展和普及, 语言教学由传统的“纸质教材和教师课堂授课”模式, 逐步向计算机辅助和教师指导下的自主学习模式转变。《大学英语课程教学要求》明确提出 , 大学英语教学应从以教师讲授为主的单一教学模式向以现代信息技术, 特别是网络技术为支撑的多元教学模式转变使英语教学朝着个性化学习、不受时间和地点限制的学习、主动式学习的方向发展。这 种新的教学模式促成了以现代信息技术为平台的语言网络测试模式的诞生。信息技术融合到语言测试, 既是语言测试的新趋势, 更是现代信息技术背景下语言教学的要求。应用计算机网络信息技术, 可以大大丰富英语考试的内容, 改善施考方式, 加快信息数据的处理, 提升考试效度。

2.信度优势

语言测试要求不断提高测试本身的效度。英语测试的效度是指测试在多大程度上测出预期要测量的东西, 或考试在多大程度上完成了预期的测量任务, 达到了预期测试的目的。效度有高低之分, 且效度分内在效度、外在效度和表面效度。观念效度和内容效度属英语语言测试的内在效度, 同期效度和预测效度属外在效度。结构效度是英语语言测试的主要效度, 是一切其他效度的基础, 指英语测试是否以有效的英语语言观和英语语言学习观为理论根据。内容效度指英语测试的内容是否构成它要测试的内容的有效抽样。 外在效度指测试结果是否或在多大程度上与一些外在标准相关, 又称标准参照效度。这些外在标准主要是指在同期或未来某个时间举行的被认为具有效度的另一相同性质的考试及教师的评价等。 表面效度是指英语测试从外观看上去被人接受的程度, 即看是否考查了它应该考查的内容。与传统的纸质四六级考试相比, 大学英语四六级网考测试的效度更强。首先, 大学英语四六级网考更能体现英语语言观和学习观的理论依据, 具有更强的结构效度。其次, 大学英语四六级网考项目的建设目标是“以试卷库为基础的计算机网络系统, 尽可能在适当时间、适当地点为考生提供以听力测试为主包含说读写译测试在内、重点考查英语学习可持续发展能力的计算机考试”, 因此更具有内容效度。同时, 网络考试参照《大学英语课程教学要求》的标准和考试大纲的具体要求, 由视听理解、视听综合、阅读理解三个模块构成, 题型不但包括传统的选择题, 而且有听力、句子复述、填空和基于视听材料的写作题, 具有较高的标准参照效度和表面效度。

二、大学英语网考的影响

语言测试具有反拨作用, 即:语言测试对教学、学习及社会等产生影响或反作用。反拨作用, 作为语言测试社会效果质量标准的一个重要方面, 可以是积极的, 也可以是消极的。

为了更好地发挥六级网考的优势和克服存在的负向反拨效应, 我们应该继续深化大学英语教学改革。政府教育部门、机构和高校应积极设立专项资金, 为大学英语教学提供良好的网络环境、计算机硬件和资金支持等条件, 资助和鼓励高校采用网络多媒体技术。大学英语教师应积极参与教学模式改革, 启用新教材, 采用新技术, 积极组织学生讨论现实生活中的热点话题或新闻时事, 提高教学质量, 了解文化背景知识, 提高学生对文化差异的认识和跨文化交际的能力, 提高学生的英语综合运用能力和学习兴趣。全国大学英语四六级考试委员会应积极改变当前笔试和网考并行的局面, 积极全面推进网考的模式, 确保大学英语四六级考试的公平、公正。学生应改变观念, 改进学习方法, 培养良好的学习习惯, 调整学习策略和应试策略, 适应新的教学模式, 加强网络阅读训练, 加强视听说练习, 多接触一些接近生活的多媒体资源和语境, 熟悉和掌握计算机网络操作技能。
