一、本质起因

1. 外在推动

笔者萌发“课前一分钟英语演讲”的想法始于2004年的一次期末英语口语测试。当时, 面对大量的朗读测试, 学生表现得十分紧张, 而听着同一内容不断重复的测试老师也出现评审疲劳, 评审的集中力下降, 评审的判断力前后不一致。因此, 这样的小学英语口语测试是费力不讨好, 不仅不能准确反映学生的口语水平, 还会打击他们的学习兴趣, 对学生启蒙期、基础期的英语教学意义不大, 测试反而成了“鸡肋”。当时笔者脑中就有了一个念头:如果把测试变成活动, 将测试的形式从单一化转为隐性丰富化, 把期末的测试分解到平时的每一堂英语课, 那么“鸡肋”照样能熬出一锅美味的鸡汤。

2. 课堂所求

每堂课效率最低的时间段是刚开始和快结束的5分钟, 课刚开始的阶段, 学生往往还沉浸在课间活动的兴奋中, 一时无法把精力全部集中到课堂教学中来。因此, 如果刚上课就立刻开始“死板”的教学, 那么必然事倍功半。那么问题来了, 如何在课刚开始的一秒钟就抓住学生注意力, 或者让学生有个过渡时间, 逐步将注意力集中到课堂上来呢?这也成为笔者打造“课前一分钟英语演讲”的重要原因之一。

3. 内因所致

英语口语能力的提高贵在平时点点滴滴的积累与体验式练习, 而这种积累可能需要大量课外时间。但笔者希望能在课内为学生创设一个英语口语锻炼的舞台, 利用一定的课堂时间, 让学生在教师的指导下正规地练习和使用英语口语, 这样既可以帮助他们消除说英语时的害羞、胆怯、结巴等状态, 培养他们对英语口语表达的自信, 又能有效地锻炼他们英语口语与听、读、写等其他综合能力, 为奠定小学阶段英语学习的基础。

二、有效做法

“课前一分钟英语演讲”教学于2004年开始尝试, 笔者在不断的尝试和实践中逐步调整内容和形式, 并逐步固定下来:

A.自行准备演讲材料, 锻炼英语读写能力;

B.课前1分钟演讲, 锻炼口语表达能力;

C.认真倾听演讲, 相互提问, 锻炼听说能力;

D.学期综合素养评价, 改正问题、提升能力。

“课前一分钟英语演讲”教学经过不断调整和完善, 基本适应了学生特性和课堂教学需要, 并已成为笔者在教学过程中层层深入、步步为营、行之有效的方法。

1. 简单模仿, 有效提升语音语调能力 (适合1~2年级段)

刚学英语时, 学生的英语知识、能力等基础比较薄弱, 没有足够的词汇、句型、语法等支撑其自由表达所见所想, 演讲以外的学生也听不懂太多课外的内容, 不能与演讲的同学形成良性互动。因此, 第一阶段的演讲形式主要以简单模仿为主, 如课文中的小对话或者教师课上教授的课外内容等, 都可作为演讲内容。这一阶段的重点是培养学生主动的参与意识以及语音语调等基本英语应用表达能力, 从感情和语感等角度帮助学生融入英语教学。

2. 合作表演, 切实理解语言语境 (适合3~4年级段)

有了第一阶段的基础模仿训练, 学生已积聚了一定的演讲经验, 掌握的知识和能力已达到一定水平, 演讲有了支撑点。但是, 这一阶段的学生完全靠自己一人演讲经常会出错。因此, 笔者在进入第二阶段后, 要求学生2~4人一组, 进行分工合作, 共同演讲, 既可以减轻每位演讲者所需演讲的分量, 又能形成相互配合、补充的合作意识、团队意识, 可以帮助学生对英语语言语境的理解。

3. 自我表达, 有效整合现有知识 (适合3~4年级段)

台上一分钟, 台下十年功。“课前一分钟英语演讲”教学活动对学生前期准备工作的要求也在逐步提高。当学生的演讲经验和知识能力积累到一定程度后, 教师就会要求学生整合已学知识, 自由组稿后进行演讲, 如最基本的自我介绍等。这是对学生英语综合知识、能力的一次全面考量, 既给予了学生一定的自由度, 可以自由选题发挥, 又考验了他们英语听说读写的综合素质, 为更高层次的演讲做铺垫。

4. 主题演讲, 刻意延伸教学范围 (适合5~6年级段)

英语教学不能总局限于传授书本知识, 还必须从内而外地借助课外知识不断丰富教学内容, 锻炼英语能力。

因此, 第四阶段的主题演讲看似简单, 实则要求学生掌握一定量课堂以外的英语知识。演讲的学生如果不能掌握这部分课外知识, 则无法准备一份合格的演讲稿;其他学生如果对课外知识一无所知, 则可能无法理解甚至完全听不懂演讲的内容, 更无法有针对性地与演讲者相互提问与交流。

5. 话题辩论, 全面锻炼综合能力 (适合6年级段)

“演而”优则“辩”, 经过前四阶段的历练, 学生完全有能力就某一主题进行自由辩论, 在辩论中教师通过评价他们的口语等来掌握他们的学习情况。

辩论的形式可以是多样性的, 如安排部分学生分正反两方辩论, 其他学生进行点评;或者针对一个主题学生自由准备, 以举手发言的形式辩论 (每学期要求每位学生都要有一个最低限度的发言量, 否则视为不合格) 。通过这种不过分拘泥于形式的辩论方式, 给学生创设中式课堂最好的英语口语锻炼平台, 全面展示和锻炼他们的英语综合运用能力。

三、基本成效

“课前一分钟英语演讲”教学的实践, 让笔者收获颇丰。

1. 稳定学生情绪

由于笔者在事先不会告诉学生下一次演讲的学生是谁, 增强了教学的神秘感, 所以每次英语课一开始, 学生的眼神中充满了期待, 他们都在等待老师公布“演讲者到底是谁”这个答案。这种期待有效地集中了学生的注意力, 稳定了他们的情绪, 实现了有效的心理准备过渡。而演讲的五个阶段, 也让学生从易到难, 循序渐进, 逐步过渡, 让他们对英语口语练习不再感觉缺少有效锻炼, 难度过大等, 从而稳定了他们练习口语的情绪。

2. 分解期末负担

将口语测试分解到每一次的英语演讲中, 让学生更注重日常的每一次发挥, 而不用过于紧张于唯一一次的期末口语测试, 既减轻了学生的期末心理压力, 又能更合理地反映出学生的实际掌握情况, 给予学习更客观的学习评价。同时, 教师测试学生的口语水平方式更趋多样化, 时间也分散了, 不用遭受学生在期末统一口语测试的煎熬。

3. 培养综合能力

“课前一分钟英语演讲”教学的表现形式是口语, 但是其实质却是将英语的综合知识以及听说读写四种基本能力全部融合在一起, 是一种综合性的全面锻炼, 有利于学生综合能力、素养的培养。同时, 其差别化灵活安排教学的特点, 也有利于教师更有针对性地为每位学生量身定制教学方案, 促进学生自身的均衡化发展。

该模式在十多年的尝试中得到不断改善, 其结构日益稳定, 教学成效突出, 得到社会各界的逐步接受和一致认可, 为小学英语教学做出了有益的尝试, 并对地方教学事业发展起到了积极的推动作用。

20世纪，一个独特的生命个体以其勇敢的方式震撼了世界。海伦·凯勒，一个生活在黑暗中却又给人类带来光明的女性，一个度过了生命的88个春秋，却熬过了87年无光、无声、无语的孤独岁月的弱女子，竟然毕业于哈佛大学德克利夫学院，并用生命的全部力量处处奔走，建起了一家家慈善机构，为残疾人造福，被美国《时代周刊》评选为20世纪美国十大英雄偶像。

在《假如给我三天光明》这本书中，海伦·凯勒以她奔涌的激情和丰富的想象为我们描绘了一个充满真情的世界、一个色彩斑斓的大自然和一个让人目不暇接的艺术宝库，作者在她虚构的三天光明中集中表现了她对正常的人类生活的向往和礼赞。

“要当好一名眼科医生，第一，要读海伦·凯勒的《假如给我三天光明》这本书；第二，患者只要有一线希望，我们都要去争取。”这是阴正勤教授对西南医院眼科中心所有年轻医生说过的一句话。从这句话中，我们可以感受到阴教授内心对患者深切的悲悯和强烈的责任心。

有一次，西南医院眼科派出的一个医疗队来到西藏，见到一位60多岁的老妈妈。老妈妈一共生了6个孩子，可后面3个孩子，她就从来没见到过，因为西藏高原强烈的紫外线，让她的眼睛过早地患上了白内障，又因为没有及时治疗很早就失明了。西南医院的医生为她做了手术，失明二十多年的她终于见到自己的3个亲生儿子。

2006年，阴教授参加了国家卫生部组织的“白内障流行病学调查”。她说，在西部地区，50岁以上人群中，老年性白内障的发病率达50％左右，在农村，有很多人因为观念落后、经济问题等原因没有得到治疗，面临失明的危险。

初夏，在简洁的办公室里，换下戎装的阴教授接受了记者的采访，讲述了她的事业以及她和许多白内障患者的“不解之缘”。

老化，引起白内障的主要原因

经常有读者来信问，老年性白内障到底跟哪些因素有关？有没有办法可以避免？人老了，是否都会得白内障？近视眼是不是不容易得白内障？经常接触电脑是不是就容易得白内障？种种疑问，看出老百姓对老年性白内障的关注，也看出对老年性白内障认识的匮乏。

阴教授指出：“引起白内障的主要原因很简单，就是老化。”老年性白内障本身就属于一种退行性的改变，通俗一点，就是一种老化性的改变，随着年龄的增加，谁都会得。如果把眼睛比喻成照相机的话，那么，晶状体就是镜头，随着时间的延长，这个镜头不仅伸缩、调节功能都会下降，而且还会因为镜片老化，而变得浑浊、不透明。

阴教授说，白内障不会因为您患有近视而避免，因为患有近视的人眼睛一样要老化；也不会因为您接触电脑多，就增加危险，因为电脑的辐射属于红外线以下的低频辐射，一般不会引起白内障；只有紫外线高频辐射才会引起辐射性白内障。西藏紫外线强，常年居住在西藏的人患白内障的年龄就比一般人早。

“所以，只要老化存在，老年性白内障就是不可避免的，只是轻重程度不一样。”

单纯靠食物不能预防白内障

如果说，有一种食物或者药物可以避免白内障，相信有很多人都会义无反顾，不惜重金购买。现在不少虚假广告正是利用老百姓这种心态，大做文章。那到底有没有这样的食物或者药物呢？

阴教授认为，严格说来，食物没有预防作用，更不具有直接的治疗作用。但一些抗衰老、抗氧化、防紫外线的药物或者措施可以减缓白内障的发展。在阴教授的带领下，西南医院眼科中心曾经做过这方面的研究，发现抗氧化剂确实能够起到延缓白内障发展的作用，但不能对老年性白内障起到完全的预防效果。比如白内停，它含有一些晶体在代谢过程中生长的生物因子和维生素，可以延缓部分人白内障的发展，但是，它没有根本的治疗作用。阴教授告诉记者，她父亲也有白内障，点了此类药物之后，十多年来发展缓慢；但她的母亲同样患有白内障，也点同样的药，但没用，很早就做了手术。因此，她肯定地告诉记者，药物延缓白内障的作用因人而异，不可能有根本的治疗作用。

视力0.5以下，就需要做白内障手术

什么才是治疗白内障最根本的方法呢？目前最好的方式是手术治疗，阴教授如是说。

不少患者认为，手术最好是能免则免。其实这种看法是错误的，也是没有必要的。随着医学的发展，白内障手术发展很快，已经非常成熟。

据阴教授介绍，白内障手术非常简单，“点麻药，然后在显微镜下，开一个3毫米左右的切口，用超乳仪，慢慢吸出混浊的晶体，轻轻一吸，然后再把人工晶状体折叠，从切口放进去，再展开。一个白内障手术一般只需10分钟左右。”此外，白内障手术还有不少的优点：第一，成功率非常高。第二，患者痛苦小。第三，患者无需住院，做完就可以回家，很方便。

“总之，手术仍然是白内障患者的最佳选择。”阴教授呼吁，老百姓要进一步更新观念，不要等到看不见了才做手术。过去有种看法认为，“晶状体熟了才做手术”，但现在这种观念已经过时了。阴教授认为，视力0.3左右，至少0.2以下，就需要做白内障手术。当然根据患者的要求，还可以提前做。比如有的患者白内障已经达到一定程度，而患者又要开车，虽然有0.5的视力，也可以提前做。“也许有人会问，为什么有的人70岁都不需要做手术，而有的人60岁左右就需要手术呢？这是因为白内障在每个人的发展速度快慢不同，有些人发展得快，有些人发展得慢。但是，到了90岁，基本上每个人都要做手术。”

如今，市面上出现不少打着“治疗白内障”幌子的很多“药品”，阴教授认为，“这是在耽误患者病情，影响患者的生存质量，应该予以杜绝。”

孩子也有白内障

白内障不只是老人的专利，在关注老年性白内障的同时，阴教授也呼吁关注一下那些患有先天性白内障的孩子。她说，患有先天性白内障的孩子，应该在出生后3个月内做手术，否则，会因为长期的失明，而影响孩子视觉神经的发育。即使将来手术，视力也不能得到完全恢复。但是，很多家长、甚至不少基层医生都误以为应该“大一点再做手术”，让孩子错过了治疗的最佳时机。

阴教授曾经接诊一位9岁左右的白内障患者。孩子5岁的时候因为患一种全身疾病，并发了白内障，就再也看不到了。很多医生因为孩子患有全身疾病，都不愿为他做手术，阴教授当时想，“这孩子患有全身疾病已经够可怜了，如果还看不见，那岂不是太悲惨？”于是，她顶住很多压力，冒着风险，给孩子做了手术。拆线那天，孩子睁开眼睛后，说了一句话：“我以为我再也看不见爸爸妈妈了。”她说，听到这句话时，她觉得她所付出的一切，已经得到最大的报答了。让五彩缤纷的世界永远不要在世人的眼中消失，这就是一个眼科大夫最朴素的愿望！
