研招统考听力测试取消 复试全考外语听力口语

北京教育考试院消息称,今年硕士研究生英语统考虽取消了听力测试,但复试时所有考生都要进行外国语听力和口语测试。

中国高等教育学生信息网消息,根据教育部规定,今年研究生招生单位必须对所有参加复试的考生进行外国语听力和口语测试。据了解,听力测试由各院校、科研院所等招生单位统一组织进行,不便统一组织听力测试的`招生单位,也要统一制定听力测试的具体实施办法,由各院系所或复试专家负责具体实施。

据悉,北大、清华、人大、北师大等7所在京自主划线高校研究生复试已经进行完毕,且都进行了英语口语和听力测试。其他招生单位也都制定了英语听力和口语的测试方案,并将在近期的研究生复试中实施。据悉,听力测试与外国语口语测试或专业面试结合进行时,有关招生管理部门将加强巡视和监督,确保听力测试的规范进行。

虽然考生必须进行外语听力和口语测试,但测试成绩在复试成绩中所占的比例却各有不同,其计入总成绩的具体办法由招生单位根据本单位和本学科对外语能力的实际要求等情况自定。

一、听力教学的目标对听力材料的要求

对于什么样的你听力教材适合大学英语听力课堂这个问题, 目前有两个主要意见分歧。传统教学法认为听力材料需要选择规范标准的经典录音材料。而主流教学实践倾向选择的教学材料是泛交际法派所推崇的真实生活中的口语材料, 因此生活中多能接触到的口语活动都可以涵盖在内。例如:面试, 剧院演出, 电话, 广播, 会议, 购物, 课堂教学等。

原则上, 课堂上听力练习的目标就在于学生能够成功的应对上述所列真实生活中的听力场景, 这也是真实生活中的口语材料作为听力材料被广泛认可的原因。对于毕业后工作中要使用英语交流或在英语为母语的国家工作或继续学习的大学生而言, 使用真实生活中的口语材料作为听力学习材料能够真正提高他们日常生活、工作、学习中的听力技能, 使他们能够学以致用。

二、听力的困难决定听力教学材料的选用

作为英语教学实践的英语教师, 了解学生在听力中的困难, 才能有的放矢地帮助学生提高听力技能。

王蔷、程晓堂等人认为, “导致英语听力困难的具体原因有六点:一是不同的人用不同的方法发音, 例如, 不同的方言、口音、重音、韵律、语调等;二是听话者无法控制口语材料中的说话速度;三是口语材料一般只听一次;四是听话者不能向读者一样停下来琢磨某段材料的意思;五是播放器的噪音可能影响说话声音的质量;六是听话者又是不得不一边听一边干别的事情。”

除此之外, 学生在听力当中还会遇到如下困难:要去理解每一个单词, 如果错过了什么就会感到挫败, 焦虑和处于压力当中;可以理解慢速、清晰的口语, 不能理解快速, 自然的口语;很难跟上所有的信息, 不能预测;长时间的听力会感到疲惫并很难专注。

这些困难决定了教学者在听力中选用适当的听力教学材料, 有针对性的采取必要措施, 帮助学生提高应对这些困难的能力, 克服了困难, 自然提高了听力技能。

三、目前广泛使用的听力教材的局限性。

目前, 非英语专业使用的教材大部分为阅读教材的配套听力教材, 比如广泛在大学中使用的《新视野大学英语听说教程》, 这类听力教材属于传统教学法所推崇的规范标准的经典录音材料。为配套的读写教程专门录制, 而非真实生活中的口语材料。这有悖于英语听力课堂的真正目的——使学生能够成功的应对真实生活中的听力场景。

而英语专业比较普遍使用的教材包括《Listen to this》, 《Step by Step》等都属于真实生活中的口语材料这一范畴。然而, 这些已经经得起时间检验的教材在实际的教学过程中也存在着弊端, 以《Listen to this》为例说明, 大多数的音频材料难度较大, 对于甚至是英语专业的学生而言, 都需要反复播放多次才能完成练习。而真实的生活中的口语材料是一般只听一次的。因此, 这些材料虽然在内容上基本符合需要, 但是在难度上不太适合培养学生应对真实生活中只听一次的口语的能力。

四、雅思听力材料的适用性

这里说的雅思听力材料包括目前的剑桥雅思1-7, 也就是雅思考试真题题集, 以及雅思考试的模拟材料。虽然这类材料的使用对象是要参加雅思考试的学生, 但是它的一些特点符合听力教学的目的, 并且能帮助解决学生听力的困难, 以提高学生的听力技能。

雅思听力材料符合听力教学的目的。雅思听力材料每一个测试分为四个部分, 一二部分的内容是survival situation, 即日常生活中的场景, 三四部分的内容是academic situation, 即有关学术类的场景。这四个部分涵盖了大量的真实生活中的场景, 通过这样的听力练习, 并在练习的同时提高各个场景词汇的积累, 可以帮助学生提高在真实生活中各种场景的听力技能。

雅思听力材料可以帮助解决听力困难。首先, 雅思听力材料中说话人会掺杂着不同国家的各种口音, 通过练习, 可以帮助学生适应各种口音, 解决听力中语音上的困难。

其次, 雅思听力材料, 按照雅思考试的要求, 录音连续播放30分钟, 只放一遍, 考生必须边听边写。在练习当中, 学生慢慢习惯只听一遍, 同时要边听边阅读题目, 做到“一心两用”, 并快速作出反应。此外, 经过长期的训练, 学生可以慢慢改善长时间听力容易疲惫走神的现象。

综上所述, 雅思听力材料在大学英语课堂上的使用符合英语听力教学的目的, 并且能够帮助解决诸多听力困难, 能够有效地提高大学生的听力技能。

【关键词】3B英语教学法 “大教材”观 雅思听力

一、引言

3B 英语教学法是应英语素质教育改革大环境而生,以建构主义理论为基础,以培养交际能力为方向的新兴教学法。随着近些年来出国热兴起,一些国外考试引起众多关注,如:雅思,托福等。相近层面多种语言材料共同输入的外语获得关是3B英语教学理论的重要观点之一,同时强调语言材料以交际为目的,应具有情景真实性。而雅思考试,全称为国际英语语言测试系统(International English Language Testing System)。由英国剑桥大学考试委员会等机构联合策划,为考察学生英语综合能力的国际考试。因而本文提出设想,可否将雅思听力材料与高中英语听力相结合,使其成为“大教材”的一部分。

二、对3B英语教学法及雅思听力的阐述

1.对3B教学法的理解。3B 教学法以建构主义为理论基础,建构主义认为知识是学习者积极主动建构的产物,因而3B英语教学法秉持“大学生,小教师”,“大课堂,小教室”,“大教材,小课本”。大学生(Big Students),大教室(Big Classes),大教材(Big Materials),简称3B(李冬梅,孙长顺)。其实3B教学法中“大与小”,笔者认为,可以理解为形容词化作动词使用,大,即使其大,也就是使突出,加强。小,即使其小,弱化,而不彰显,并不是全面皆无。

3B教学法认为,交际能力不是短时间,也不是凭借一本教科书,当然也不是凭借教师45分钟课堂教授而成的。而教师,课堂,课本,是作为英语学习的支撑点存在,就如亚里士多德所言:“给我一个支点,我可以撬动地球”。教师、课堂、课本,就是作为支点存在与学生英语学习中,撬动学生极大的英语学习乐趣,主动获取全方位语言技能。“大教材”观,即 相近层面多种语言材料共同输入的外语获得观,其认为,外语的运用能力不是单凭一种精编课本所能培养出来的,而是需要多种语言材料共同输入,经过不断使用练习建构而成的(李冬梅,孙长顺)。本文落脚点即在“大教材”观,从而设想将雅思听力材料介入其中,作为大教材选材之一。

2.听力在语言学习中地位的理解。听力在语言学习中占据着非常重要的地位,根据Rivers和Tmeperly,在交际中听说读写分别占据着45%,30%,16%,和9%的比重,听比重很大(王蔷,136)。其次,克拉申输入假说中认为,第二语言的习得过程中,只有大量的有效输入,才会有输出的产生,即交际能力得产生。听与读作为语言输入,听具有重要作用。人类获得母语,也是从听说开始,后读写。因此在外语习得中,听力技能应受到重视。(魏立明,76)。再次3B教学法中,以“问当先”来解决交际困难,以问来打破交际障碍局面。问,即从听中得来。听即会,会即用。同时,问句中语音,语调也是由听到材料中模仿而来。听是最直接,最简易产生交际的方法。

3.对雅思听力的阐述。谈到雅思听力,首先是难度问题。随着出国热,国内很多高中都开设了国际合作办学,他们中大多都將雅思考试纳入了正常学习任务中,显然采用雅思听力中部分材料来补充高中生听力材料难度可以接受。根据维果茨基“最近发展区域”理论,略难与学生现实认知水平的材料,在一定指引下,可以达到略高认知层次,而获得认知发展。其次,雅思听力分为4个部分,常常称为Section1至4,难度逐级递增(section3与4,难度较大,本文不予讨论),其中section1部分是与学生亲身相关,贴近生活的场景对话,有图书馆借阅,有兼职面试,有购物就医,租房等场景,这些语言材料以对话形式展现,可以作为对话练习材料。

材料的易得及权威性。雅思考试常用真题《剑桥雅思》至2015年已更新至10本。除了《剑桥雅思1》为模拟题外,其他9册,每一册中有4套真题,仅以section1为例,则有36篇真实语境材料,这些足以贯穿各个生活场景。且这些听力材料,作为学习非商业之用可以在众多的英语学习网站获得。

可作为精听与泛听之用。雅思听力多数为母语国家英音朗读,同时加有少量澳音,美音等其他非母语国家发音。对于纯正英音或美音可以作为精听之用,学习语言知识,模仿发音,断句,语调等。而其他混合非母语发音,可以作为泛听之用,增加学生对语言大环境了解,增加语感。

提高学生学习英语兴趣。当告知学生他们水平已经达到可以征服国外考试,可引发学生英语学习兴趣,并鼓励有余力学生继续学习其余部分。雅思听力材料4部分逐级递增,助学生步步递增。引发学生学习动力,如果将来通过雅思考试,可以获得入学国外大学资格,当点点小梦想种植学生心田时,必将收获远大梦想。正如3B教学法中韩忠亮老师的“一勺水引无穷水”理论,激起学生兴趣,自主学习。

三、结论

基于大教材观理论,雅思听力材料具有真实语境,多为纯正母语发音,贴近生活各个层面,与生活经验相联系,易与原有语言,生活经历结合,有利于建构新的知识图示。然而,听力材料难得,具有情景交流,贴近生活,纯母语发音的材料更难得情况下,雅思听力有着天生优势。愿本文可为略解选材之难,供抛砖引玉之力。

新课标下英语听力材料教学感悟 篇7

英语听力教学是英语课堂教学的一个不可或缺的组成部分, 如何设计听力教学成为研究教师面临的重要课题。本文从语音、材料、词汇、心理、训练方法和应试技巧等方面探讨英语听力教学的优化策略。

现行《新目标》初一年级新教材是我国2002年经全国中小学教材审定委员会初审通过的我国第一套与美国汤姆森学习出版集团合编的纯英文的英语教科书。教材图文生动、色彩鲜艳, 卡通画式的排版, 很适合初中学生的视觉心理特点。学生使用这套教材时, 对自己要学习的内容有点“看不见、摸不着”的感觉。

这套教材着重培养的是学生的听、读能力和探究学习的能力。教材的学习内容以听力为主线, 引导学生通过听与圈、听与选、听与标号、听与填写等方式, 亲耳去感受英语的音、形、义, 再通过听力训练反馈听的结果, 感受语言学习的过程经历。

问题

英语教材使用时, 课本的每项要求都是用英语表述的, 学生看不懂要求, 不明白如何做, 影响听力理解。老师的汉语提示很有必要, 但不是长久的解决办法。其次, 学生对听力内容的接收和反应有差异。有的学生听力好些, 反应快, 能完成听力任务;有的学生听力差, 完成起来很吃力。再次, 听力练习在书中占大量篇幅, 学生在课内外听不懂的情况下, 有的听力内容不能通过阅读听力材料的方式, 从视读角度补救听力的缺陷, 这就使得听力练习不能完全达到听力训练的目的。最后, 学生学习习惯的养成不是一两天就能形成的。学生在学习过程中如果缺少对课本英语要求的认识, 不会在学习过程中探究发现一些常见的指令性词汇意义, 总结英语活动要求的英语含义, 单凭教师每次反复地用汉语提示, 学生会不留心记忆, 课本的纯英语的要求反而成为学生学习的累赘和障碍。

教师在教授这套教材时, 要全面了解教材, 制定出长期、有效的教育教学计划。对于学生而言, 提高听力水平不是一朝一夕之功, 还需要扎实的英语基本功。因此, 除了多听以外, 多读、多写、多说、多做练习, 对提高听力都很有帮助。纯正的听力材料、正确的阅读方法, 以及快速的语感反应和熟练技巧的运用, 对迅速提高学生的听力水平都至关重要。

教师从一开始就要有一个利用英语听力材料为主线, 同步培养学生读、写基本技能的计划。《新目标》是以听力训练为主线, 同步培养学生读写能力的“功能性”实用英语教材。教师在系统组织学生进行完听力训练练习之后, 教材中没有呈现的听力内容还可视情况给学生作为补充阅读材料, 成为阅读范文, 增加学习的阅读量和培养阅读理解能力。学生听过的材料再转变为阅读材料让学生练习, 从记忆规律的角度看, 是对他们听力表象的再现, 是复记。视觉和听觉的语言再输入, 符合视听采集信息的心理特征和记忆规律, 起到了听觉———语言输入———初始记忆;视觉———语言输入———再记忆的巩固和强化作用。学生通过语言听力训练, 目的是培养其英语语感, 并能再现形成语言文字的输出, 即模拟读写式的训练。教材每个单元都安排有让学生写的尝试性训练。如第一单元试写“名片”, 第二单元试写“失物招领条”, 第三单元试写“一封短信”等, 都是在对所学单元的语言学习进行再创造、再表象, 这也是“任务型”教学思想的体现。

领会教材的编写思路和体系, 启发学生感悟教材内容和培养目标, 努力完成教学任务。教材从起始篇开始就埋下了学生学习语音知识的伏笔:学生学习语音知识, 主要通过学习字母读音, 去观察、发现字母读音及字母发音规律、拼读规律。单元的活动进程中也有伏笔:在进行Language Goals的教学时, 先以图文配对形式引发学生兴趣, 识记单词, 再通过圈点单词、标注单词或对话顺序等形式的听力练习, 最后进行pairwork或group-work.

根据教学要求和学生实际情况, 调整教学内容, 适应教学要求。必要时建立部分学生的英语学习的成长记录, 重视学生英语学习的形成性评价。

语言是文化的载体, 要搞好听力必须使学生具备一定的英美历史和语言文学知识。同时, 还需了解和熟悉一些英美国家人民的生活习惯、文化背景、风土人情及生活方式, 如果这方面知识贫乏, 就会影响听力。文化背景可分为两大类:知识文化和交际文化。主要包括社会文化习惯和民族文化特点的交际用语和词汇, 比如姓名 (Name) 、打招呼 (Greeting) 、感谢语 (Thanking) 、告别 (Farewell) 等, 中西方表达不尽相同。

既要关注心理因素的问题, :听力理解过程也是较复杂的心理活动过程。心理学认为, 当人的情绪处于紧张焦虑的状态时, 就易产生恐惧的心理, 从而使原来可以听懂的内容也受影响。另外, 外部环境也有影响, 如在教室、语音室与户外听的效果不一样。还要剖析逻辑思维问题:听力理解过程也是学生对所听材料内容的联想、判断、记忆、分析、综合等的协同工作过程。听者对所听材料做出的反应快慢及准确与否很大程度上取决于他们对所听材料的储存记忆。这样就需要听者运用归纳、综合、分析等能力把材料中有意义的信息进行长时或短时储存。

一、英语新目标教材听力材料使用现状

在实际的教学中,有些听力材料并没有得到充分的使用,教师把听材料与培养听力简单地等同起来,教学效率低下,容易挫伤学生积极性。有的英语教师对于听力材料的处理往往局限于让学生听录音完成课本上的听力练习,然后就是单一的核对答案,最多也只是加上听录音跟读而已。这样的教学形式单一,忽视了对材料的深层挖掘和拓展,听力教学的效果不好,不利于学生综合语言运用能力的提高。

二、有效处理英语新目标教材听力材料的方法策略

方法策略一:听说结合,以听促说

语言学家克拉申说过:“说的能力是在有足够输入的情况下出现的。”这说明,要让学生掌握一种语言,听是必由之路。听与说是不可分割的整体,只有听懂了,才能接着说。英语听力教学必须自始至终以提高学生语用能力为目的,采用听、说领先的教学法,做到说中练听、听后配练、听说结合。在英语学习中,口头汇报或是复述是有效提高英语口语能力的策略之一。因此,在听力材料的基础上,我们可以让学生进行口头汇报或是复述等说的活动,以加深学生对材料的理解,同时又培养了学生的口语能力。

【教学案例】新目标八年级上册Unit 6 Section A,教师在学生完成听材料填表格之后,在对话的基础上,再次充分利用听力文本材料,设置复述的任务,由模仿对话到归纳总结式的复述,培养学生说的能力,从词到句到篇章的语言输出,整合信息,培养学生对语言的感悟力及语言表达能力。让学生直接口头组织语言,说一说Chen Hans dream job。将各个问题的回答连接起来,让学生发现这些连起来的句子就是一篇小短文,增强学习英语的自信心。

这样的讲述并不是简单地对照表格读一读句子,在说的过程中加入了学生自己的语言和对内容的扩充,是对听力材料内容的理解、归纳和总结,为锻炼学生说的能力和创造性运用语言的能力提供了很好的平台,也巩固和复习了听力内容。教师应充分运用听力材料进行有效的教学设计,帮助学生将通过听力材料获得的语言知识有效地转化为听、说能力。

方法策略二:听读结合,以听促读

1.模仿跟读,培养语感。

新课标对三级目标中“说”的标准描述为:能在口语活动中做到语音、语调基本正确。朗读是英语学习中重要的输入过程,也是积累语言知识的过程。教师可以有计划地让学生对听力材料进行跟读、听读、复读,这样有助于学生提高辨音能力,增强语感。很多学生都抱怨自己的英语发音不地道,努力想提高自己的英语口语水平,并苦苦搜寻着有效的朗读模仿材料,其实好教材就在我们身边。课本上的听力材料,往往有着一定的语境,语言又地道,包含了学生所需掌握的重点句型和知识点,真的是非常难得的模仿材料。新目标英语教材中,外籍教师朗读的听力材料发音优美,其实就是很好的口语教材。在听力练习之后,可以进行朗读训练,对提高辨音能力和形成语感、提高听力作用很大。教师要注重自己的语音语调,同时研究每个单元语音教学的重点,有的放矢地引导学生朗读。在听力模仿中,教师可以用符号标注连读、弱读、重音、升降调,把听力模仿变得有趣点、真实些,这样学生也能及时发现自己的问题。在经过一段时间的训练以后,教师就不需要再标出连读、弱读、重音、升降调,可以引导学生边听边用手势表示出自己听到的升降调,单词的连读也可以让学生边听边自己感悟,这样自主建构语音知识,相信学生印象会更深刻。只有让学生喜欢朗读,掌握了朗读的技巧,学生的语感才会增强,长期坚持,学生的朗读水平,包括语音、语调会有很大的进步。

2.巧设任务,促进阅读。

要想学好英语,离不开阅读;要想提高写作水平,离不开阅读;要想开阔视野,也离不开阅读。当前我们教材中的阅读材料很有限,因此,我们教师根据需要,也可以将教材中的听力材料作为学生的辅助阅读材料,还可以利用听力材料设计一些阅读任务,比如预测阅读内容、根据上下文猜测词义,这样有助于提高学生的阅读速度和阅读技巧。

【教学案例】新目标八年级上册 Unit 4 Section B 1c

用英语思维的习惯。”

例如,张家港外国语学校朱老师在教授词汇时,先与学生谈论班级的情况,知道很多学生有眼睛方面的问题,然后通过Dr Ma 帮助Tom的故事,适时地引出patient, blindness, affect, afford ,volunteer等新词汇,降低了学生理解新词的难度。之后朱老师又说:Lets study the story again. But some words are missing.设计了下面的填词练习,帮助学生进一步理解词义。

Tom is a student. He used to be a patient with eye problems because of his blindness. He couldnt see anything at all. The illness affected him a lot and he didnt have enough money. So he couldnt afford to go to hospital. Luckily, a volunteer doctor Dr Ma would like to help him for free. He operated on him. The operation was very successful. And Toms blindness was cured now. 二、 情景教学法

词汇教学需要依托适当的情景才能有效地进行。如果脱离了特定的情景进行词汇教学,即使学生记住了词汇的拼写和词义,也很难运用到实际中。因此,在课堂教学中,教师要善于创设一些新颖的、能唤起学生学习兴趣的情景(比如师生的学习和生活情景)作为教育资源进行词汇教学,帮助学生在具体的情景中理解生词的含义。

平时上课前,可以安排三四分钟与学生就熟悉的话题进行交流,如谈论学生身边发生的事情或者自己的经历等,在交流中呈现新的词汇。例如,在教学8A Unit 1 Friends 的阅读课时, 以“我的好朋友”为话题进行讨论,在交流中通过与学生的对话,呈现新的词汇。

S1:I have a good friend. He is Wang Ping... He wears glasses.

T: Wear glasses? He has poor eyesight.(呈现:eyesight)

S2: He likes telling interesting stories.

T: It means he has a good sense of humour.(呈现: humour)

在上述的交流过程中,通过借助本课的话题,在交流中呈现新的词汇,并帮助学生在较短的时间内理解和掌握。有时,也可以把本课的新词汇放在一个特定的情景中,比如:昨天我遇见了一件事……/前几天我做了一个梦……/我去年暑假去旅游……在交流的过程中,把词汇融入情景中,并在黑板上呈现。教师通过情景的创设,把原本毫无联系或者联系不紧密的词汇联系在一起,使它们形成一个有机的整体,有利于学生整体感知、理解、记忆和提取这些词汇。

三、 直观教学法

俗话说,眼见为实。所以,教师可以借助图片、动作、多媒体等调动学生的形象思维,有利于提高记忆效果,帮助学生学习和掌握词汇。

例如,星港学校的张老师在教授新词汇时,通过展示一系列有关ORBIS的图片,来教新词汇,如treat, cure, operation, grateful等。通过图片呈现单词可以给学生留下较深刻的印象,有利于学生识记单词的意义。

又如,通过动作猜词义。在教学8A Unit 5 Birdwatchers时,教师上课可以做一个在张望的动作,然后让学生猜:What am I doing? 答案可能是多种多样的,然后教师说:I am birdwatching. I am a birdwatcher.并且同时在黑板上呈现新词汇。我想通过教师的这一动作,学生不仅对接下来的学习产生浓厚的兴趣,而且对birdwatching,birdwatcher这些新词汇印象会特别深刻。

“多媒体具有丰富的表现力、良好的交互性和极大的共享性,所以,多媒体具有其他教学方法所不能起到的作用。”第一位参赛教师的词汇教学就采用了观看视频的方式。先让学生阅读一段话,然后观看关于ORBIS的视频片段,理解大意,再让学生边听边填所缺词汇,之后要求学生根据视频猜测一些新词汇的意思。这种观看视频的方式能激发学生的兴趣,让学生在享受中学习,在学习中思考。

四、英文解释教学法

用英文解释新词汇,有助于透彻理解这些词汇的含义,是一种方便的、有效的学习和掌握词汇的方法。利用学过的词来解释新词汇,学生既能复习旧词,又能比较准确地理解和把握新词汇的词义,使抽象的词汇具体化。牛津教材的每篇阅读课文后都有这方面的练习。

阅读课中的词汇教学方法多种多样,作为一名中学英语教师,选择正确的教学方法,提高课堂的教学效果,提高学生学习的兴趣,是我们任重而道远的追求。如果我们能做到常积累,常反思,或许可以收到意想不到的效果。我想,阅读课中的词汇教学,可以尝试的方法不止以上这些,只要我们愿意去多思考,多尝试,就可以让我们的英语课堂变得更加多姿多彩。
