Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of dream.What is dream? It is what everyone is longing for.The dream are always

from people’s heart.Sometimes it may can’t come true,but it gives people

hopeand courge.Because of dream, we can still keep moving.I have a dream that one day our country can lead the world.I have a

dream that one day that there is no hunger and war in the world.I have a

dream that one day I can be a useful person.However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, dream becomes

very complicated.I believe dream is the realization of people’ s hopes and

ideals.To get the dream come true we must need something inside, which

is the realization of people’s hopes and ideas.Different people have different ideas about dream;cause people’s hopes

and ideas vary from one another.But I am sure every dream is dear to

everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our

striving for dream, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we

are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love,patient, courage and sense of responsibility.These are the best treasures.So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here

speaking to all of you.It is my dream, cause I raise up to challenge my

hope.What is dream? Everyone has his own interpretation as I do.But I am

本部分共分为三个小部分, 前两部分针对汉语的“梦”与英语中的“dream”各自的意思以及用法, 通过材料查找进行罗列。第三部分对它们的异同进行分析, 最后得出其在意思以及用法角度上的对比结果。

1. 汉语中“梦”的意思以及用法

本部分通过查阅各类字典词典以及各种权威参考资料, 将汉语中“梦”的意思以及用法进行深入分析以及总结。根据上海辞书出版社出版的《现代汉语大词典》以及商务印书馆出版的《古代汉语词典》中关于“梦”的解释, 并参考《不列颠简明百科全书》对于“梦”的解释, 笔者对其进行了总结: (1) 名词。睡眠时局部大脑皮质还没有完全停止活动而引起的脑中的表象活动。即为入睡后脑中出现的连续的思想活动、形象或者情感。现代汉语中也指理想等积极的对未来的憧憬。 (2) 动词。做梦。想象。幻想。 (3) 中国的姓氏。宋代有梦仲才。

综上所述, 汉语中的“梦”大体具有三种意思以及用法。然而, 在这三种用法中, 最初的用法是作为名词使用的第一种用法, 后来将其引申为动词的梦, 继而成为我们在表示自身美好理想时的一个动词。最后一种用法不太常见, 但也不可忽视其作为姓氏的用法。

2. 英语中“dream”的意思以及用法

本部分旨在通过查阅各类字典词典以及各种权威参考资料, 将英语“dream”的意思以及用法进行深入分析以及总结。根据上海译文出版社出版的《英汉大词典》————————————————————————以及柯林斯伯明翰大学国际语料库出版的《英汉双解词典》中关于“dream”的解释, 笔者对其进行了总结:

第一, 名词。an imaginary series of events that you experience in your mind while you are asleep.睡眠时大脑中所产生的一系列的你所经历的事情的想象。

第二, 名词。A situation or event which you often think about because you would very much like it to happen.but which you know is probably not possible.你所经常想的一个情景, 而且你希望它发生。然而你知道他发生的可能性很小。梦想, 幻想, 愿望。

第三, 名词。A situation or event that does not feel real, especially because it is very strange or unpleasant.有一个你感觉不到真实的情景, 而且你甚至认为它很奇怪或者让人不舒服。空想;胡思乱想。

第四, 名词。A state of mind in which you do not concentrate properly on what you are doing because you are thinking about other more pleasant things.当你做一些事情时的一种不集中的大脑状态, 因为你正在想一些更加好的事情。梦幻, 恍惚, 出神。

第五, 动词。You see imaginary pictures and events in your mind while you are asleep.当你睡觉的时候, 你会在你的大脑中看到幻想的画面和事情。做梦, 梦见, 梦到。

第六, 动词。You think about a particular situation or event that you would very much like to happen, but which you know is probably not possible.你希望有一件特别的情景和事情发生, 可是你知道它发生的可能性很低。梦想, 幻想, 渴望。

第七, 动词。You imagine that you saw, heard, or experienced something, when in fact you did not.你想象你看见的、听到的, 或者经历过的一些事情, 然而你却不将其付诸行动。空想, 遐想。

第八, 俗语。If you say that something is a dream, you mean that that it is wonderful;an informal use.如果你说某一件事情是一个梦, 则意味着你认为这件事是美好的完美的事物。俗语:美妙的事物, 完美的事物。

综上所述, 英语中的“dream”有八种意思以及三种用法。其中第一种至第四种都为名词用法, 为梦的原始意思以及引申用法。第五种至第七种都为动词用法, 均为名词动词化的情况。最后一种为俗语用法。当然, 由于参考资料有限, 以及笔者知识水平的限制, 此处的总结具有一定的局限性。

二汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”的意思以及用法对比分析

在对汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”的意思以及用法进行总结的基础上, 通过以下两个部分对于两者意思以及用法的异同点进行对比分析。第一部分分析总结两者意思以及用法的共同之处。第二部分对两者意思以及用法上的不同之处进行分析总结。

1. 汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”的意思以及用法的相同之处

从以上分析中可以发现两者都具有两种词性。即都具有名词与动词的用法。

在词语意思方面, 它们最初的含义都为大脑中的梦境, 之后所引申出来的多种含义都是在大脑中的梦境这一含义的基础上进行的扩展。

因此, 可以将汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”的意思以及用法的相同之处总结为以下两点: (1) 从词性上来讲, 汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”都具有名词和动词的性质。汉语的“梦”为动词, 具有做梦、想象、幻想等动作含义。英语中的“dream”同样具有做梦、梦想、渴望等动作含义。因此, 从词性上来讲两者具有很大的共通之处。 (2) 从意思或者含义上来讲, 汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”有很多共同的含义。汉语中的“梦”无论是表示睡眠中的梦, 还是现实中的理想, 或者表示动作的渴望与幻想都与英语中的“dream”有着相同的含义。

综上所述, 汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”在词性与含义上具有以上两种共性。

2. 汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”的意思以及用法的不同点

本部分对两者的不同点进行分析, 最明显的就在于汉语中“梦”与英语中“dream”都有各自特别的含义。同时, 通过两者的解释词条, 我们会明显地发现, 英文中“dream”含义的丰富程度远远高于汉语中“梦”含义的丰富程度。 (1) 汉语中“梦”具有姓氏的含义, 而英语的“dream”完全不具备这种含义和语言功能。 (2) 英语“dream”具有丰富的引申含义, 相比较而言, 汉语的“梦”的引申含义没有英语丰富。

综上所述, 中英文中的“梦”具有很多相同点, 也具有不同点。因此, 在英语教学的过程中, 我们应当在把握其共同点的基础上, 强调其不同之处, 掌握其特点, 才能达到良好的教学效果。

三结论

通过比较, 笔者认为中英语言对比研究不仅能够丰富语言学领域的研究成果, 更重要的是, 通过中英对比研究, 我们能够分析得出中英两种语言的区别与联系, 掌握这种区别与联系对于以中文为母语的英语学习者来说, 具有非常大的现实意义, 也有利于我们改进英语教学的方法。

笔者认为汉语“梦”与英语“dream”看似与中英语言学没有直接的联系, 但是有着极大的现实意义, 能让人们重视中英对比研究对于英语词汇学习与教学的巨大影响力, 让英语学习者从新的视角去审视自己的英语学习, 让教师从新的视角去改进自己的教学方法。

1919年的五月四日，为了祖国的独立与富强，无数青年用热血与生命谱写爱国的乐章，93年后的今天，同样也是为了国家的富强，但是没有抛头颅，洒热血，有的是：青年们作为社会主义事业接班人的为祖国的繁荣富强而付诸的Dreaming and creating 梦想和创造。

古往今来爱国人物事迹层出不穷，那么截取一个“爱”字，我想问什么是爱？ 我们都知道，爱字中间一颗心，心中常怀祖国，不求家事国事天下事事事记于心中，只愿恒心热心体悯心心心付诸行动。爱国的含义很广泛，我们姑且可以将它分为两部分：爱国家和爱国人。这两点和我前面所说的Dreaming and Creating 有什么联系呢？
