第一步是每位学生都要去做的，就是把15个单词通过后缀进行词性分类，但是通常我的习惯是遇到动词进行二次分类：确定时态，确定单三还是非单三；遇到名词 确定单数还是复数；我一直认为单词不认识不应该成为学生放弃选词填空的原因，在做第一步之前我先把4级历年真题选词填空中出现频率最高的后缀全部列举出 来：
名词后缀：tion/sion/ness/ment/er/or/ist/ism
形容词后缀：able/al/ant/ent/tive/sive/ous/less/ed/ing
动词后缀:ate/lize/ing/ed
副词后缀：ly/ward/wise
在历年真题中只要出现ly一定为副词，这是频率

具体分析，重点打击，先易后难。怎么操作？我现在开始讲解：

大学英语课程是高校非英语专业大学生的一门重要的必修基础课程, 其教学目标是培养学生的英语综合应用能力, 特别是听说能力, 使他们在今后工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流同时增强其自主学习能力, 提高综合文化素养, 以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。大学英语四、六级考试的目的在于准确地衡量我国在校大学生的英语综合应用能力, 为实现大学英语课程教学目标发挥积极作用。如何正确处理考试与教学的关系, 使考试更好地为教学服务, 这是值得研究的课题。2004年四、六级考试改革方案出台。2005年四、六级考试开始采用新的计分体制和成绩报道方式, 项目组和考试委员会公布了改革后四级考试的样题。2006年6月进行了全国范围的试点, 并在此基础上完成了对大学英语四级考试大纲的修订。2007年全面实施改革后的四级考试。在考试的内容和形式上, 四、六级考试加大了听力理解部分的题量和比例, 增加快速阅读理解测试, 增加非选择性试题比例。词汇和语法知识不再单独列为考项, 而融入了其他各部分试题中进行考核, 例如仔细阅读部分的选词填空。该题型是为了考查学生词汇掌握情况, 也是学生公认的“难题”。本文希望通过分析该题型特点、解题技巧等深入了解学生在词汇学习的过程中有哪些不足, 从而尝试解决问题。
我任教班级为10级, 所用教材为上外的全新版大学英语 (第二版) 。第一学期时, 曾选择英语基础相对较好的一个班做了2009年12月四级考试的阅读理解选词填空题。结果发现学生完成这样一篇阅读理解需要15分钟左右的时间。该班一共36名学生, 10道选项以一题1分计算, 得到5分以上的学生只有6人 (20%) , 4分以下6人 (20%) , 其余24人得4或5分 (60%) 。最高分7分, 仅有1人, 最低分2分。为什么该题型耗时多, 得分低?我认为有必要追根求源。
一、选词填空题型的特点及要求
大学英语四级考试仔细阅读部分要求考生阅读三篇短文 (用时25分钟) 。第一篇为选词填空, 篇章长度为200—250词。题目为10道选词填空题, 要求从给出的15个词中选择10个填入合适的空档中。选词填空测试考生对篇章语境中的词汇理解和运用能力。选词填空题在仔细阅读部分占整个考试的分值比例为5% (35分/710分) 。一般选自英文原版材料, 题材广泛, 体裁多样, 词汇范围不超出《教学要求》中一般要求的词汇, 如果出现超出范围的词汇影响理解, 则给出中文解释。篇章词汇理解题考查的对象都是实义词, 主要包括名词、动词、形容词、副词, 所以学生在阅读时可以在每个单词旁边标注词性, 如果时间允许可以标注词义, 然后略读整篇文章, 确定文章的中心或主要说明的问题, 这大约用时1分钟。第三步根据原文中空格的前后单词或者前后语句确定所要填的词性, 然后从分类好的单词中选择出词性、词义、语法都符合要求的最佳选项。最后检查全文上下确定答案。
二、学生答题时普遍存在的问题
有的学生第一步就无法顺利完成, 即不知道词性或词义。他们说在中学阶段默写单词时老师不要求写词性, 这导致部分新生平时从不注意词性。另外, 很多单词常用词性不只一个, 有的学生却只知其一不知其二。例如:routine可以作形容词也可以作名词, alternate可以是动词也可以是形容词。
阅读的第二步是用1分钟左右时间略读文章, 理解文章大意。学生普遍反映时间不够, 他们的实际答题时间至少在十分钟以上, 这显然不符合要求。
更多的学生在第三步出现问题, 有几种常见情况:
词汇固定搭配未能掌握, 如“It’s well____that the mother’s language does not have an impact, ...”应该填established, 36人中只有1人选择了正确答案。
缺少基本语法知识, 特别体现在得分很低的学生中, 如“the total number”, 有学生选择quoted, quality, aspects, 这些学生不知道空格处需要的是一个形容词。
单词不认识:选项中有学生不认识的单词这必然影响答题。如:“Researchers____families from 11 care centers before their children were a year old, ...”此处填recruited, 学生反映他们不认识所以不敢选, 36人中仅仅6人正确。
三、选词填空题型对词汇教学的正面导向作用
选词填空题型作为测试学生掌握词汇的情况的有效手段, 充分反映出学生在词汇学习中的问题。这些问题同时体现在句子翻译、写作等方面, 影响学生听、说、读、写各项技能的提高, 应该引起任课老师和学生的重视。在现在的大学英语课堂上, 教师逐渐减少了生词讲解的时间, 有的老师几乎不讲解词汇。新生刚刚进入大学还未能完全适应新的教学模式特别是自主学习能力低的学生往往习惯依赖教师, 种种因素导致有的学生几乎不读课文不记单词, 有的学生认为能读会写就是学会了一个单词。我并不赞成占用宝贵的课堂时间逐一讲解单词, 但是一定要在教学中培养学生正确的词汇学习方法, 提高其词汇的应用能力。词汇教学的技巧和原则不胜枚举, 这里只是有针对性地提出几点建议。
1. 在语法方面, 一要有选择地、系统地讲解。
首先要让学生了解怎样才是学会了一个单词。读写是基本要求, 单词的常用搭配、词形转换都要在平时学习中加以辅导, 例如全新版《大学英语听说教程 (第二版) 》Unit 4“Music”, 第二部分听力材料中的单词indigestion, 先熟记动词digest, 然后记名词digestion, 最后记反义词indigestion。教师要指导学生用归纳、联系或对比的方法扩大词汇量。其次要引导学生重视词性。不同词性之间的修饰关系要在日常教学中不断重复加深印象, 如形容词修饰名词、副词修饰形容词、介词后面跟名词或动名词形式等。
2. 平时练习的形式应多样化。
默写单词时要求学生写词性, 能够进行词形转换。比如, 全新版《大学英语综合教程 (第二版) 》Unit 5“Overcoming Obstacles”第一篇课文做单词听写时, 我要求学生写出emotion的形容词、intense的名词、numerous的反义词、interpret的名词形式等, 原本简单的听写练习增加了难度, 目的就是要学生自主学习时知道学习的重点。我一般把词汇学习编成PPT在网络平台上发布给学生自学, 然后对其中难点选择讲解, 最后辅以测试以考查自主学习效果。
3. 有一本合适的双解字典。
我发现学生大多没有合适的工具书。他们一般用手机充当字典, 其弊端不言而喻。因此给学生介绍一本合适的双解字典是有必要的。
四、结语
大学新生刚入校时需要一段适应期, 特别是自主学习能力较弱的学生需要任课老师帮助他们形成正确的学习方法。对多数学生来说, 学习英语过程中一个主要的问题就是词汇学习, 实际上它也是外语学习中容易被学生忽视的部分。大学英语四级考试阅读理解选词填空题的答题情况直观地反映出学生的词汇学习存在的问题, 所以任课老师可以通过该题型了解学生的词汇应用能力, 并根据学生答题情况及时调整词汇教学方法。

这一题型所占分值小(只有5分)，做题时间短(只有5分钟)，加上做题过程繁琐，很多考生认为该题型难度太大而放弃答题。实际上，根据多年的教学经验，笔者认为在5分钟内准确解答该题型完全是有可能的，关键在于考生要了解这一题型的答题原则与解题步骤。笔者将选词填空题的答题原则和解题步骤概括为两原则和五“定”法，下面就来作详细解析。
两原则
考生在做选词填空题时要依据两个答题原则，即“不重选”与“不变形”，这也是该题型的两大特点。
所谓“不重选”，是指考生做题时，针对题目给出的每一个选项，只能选择一次，不能重复选。这就意味着如果考生确定某一个选项是某一个空格的正确答案，那么该选项就一定不会是其他空格的正确答案了，考生在解答其他空格时可以直接将之排除，从而提高答题速度。
所谓“不变形”，是指考生从备选选项中选出单词填入文章时，不需要对该词进行语法或词汇意义上的变形。根据这一点，考生在答题时只要判断出空格处应填入的单词词性和语法形式(名词单复数、动词时态和语态等)，就可以从满足相应条件的选项中选择，从而缩小了选择答案的范围。
五“定”法
在明确该题型答题的两个原则后，考生可以通过五个步骤来快速解题。笔者将这五个步骤简称为五“定”法，具体如下：①靠首段首句确定文章主旨； ②确定选项单词的词性与语法形式；③根据空格前后的内容确定应填入单词的词性；④确定空格处应填入单词的语法形式；⑤根据空格前后的内容确定应填入单词的意思并最终确定答案。下面笔者以2011年12月四级阅读选词填空题真题为例加以说明。
第一步：靠首段首句确定文章主旨
考生在答题之前，应首先通过阅读文章首段的首句来把握整篇文章的主旨。所有选词填空文章的首句都是不设空的，目的就是为了让考生明确文章的主旨。明确文章主旨对考生做题时理解文章的脉络有很大帮助。
以2011年12月四级阅读的选词填空真题为例。文章首段的首句如下：“With the world’s population estimated to grow from six to nine billion by 2050, researchers, businesses and governments are already dealing with the impact this increase will have on everything from food and water to infrastructure (基础设施) and jobs.”根据这句话考生可以了解到，这篇文章的主题是讲人口增长对各种资源带来的影响。了解了这一点，考生就能把握文章大意，方便后面答题时猜测答案。
第二步：确定选项单词的词性与语法形式
了解文章主旨之后，考生先不要忙着阅读文章，而是应该先分析一下备选选项里单词的词性及语法形式，作出适当的分类与标记，以方便后面解题。
就词性方面来说，四级阅读选词填空题通常只考查四种词性：名词、动词、形容词和副词。考生在对单词的词性进行标记时，如果遇到生词，考生可试着从单词后缀来判断单词词性。这里仅列举几个常见的明确表明单词词性的后缀：①表示名词的后缀包括-ness、-ment、-ion、-bility等；②表示动词的后缀包括-ify、-ise等；③表示形容词的后缀包括-ful、-ous、-ive、-able、-ent、-ant、-less等；④表示副词的后缀包括-ly、-ward等。
就语法形式来说，除了单词原形，选项中经常出现以下三类单词形式：①名词复数(pl.)；②动词的过去式和分词形式(v-ing或v-ed)；③动词的第三人称单数形式(v-s)。
按照这个思路，我们可以对2011年12月四级阅读选词填空题真题中的选项进行词性与语法形式标记，具体如下。

第三步：根据空格前后的内容确定应填入单词的词性
确定选项中单词的词性及语法形式之后，考生就该回到文章中分析每个空格处应填入单词的词性了。完成这一步，考生从选项中查找答案就简单多了，因为备选项中的单词已经确定了词性与语法形式，考生只要到相应的词性类别里给每个空格找答案便可以了。这就相当于将“15选1”的题目变为了“四选一”“三选一”“二选一”之类的题目，大大节约了答题时间。具体来说，考生需根据英语的句法构成规则、短语的修饰关系构成规则以及固定搭配等语法知识来判断空格处应填入单词的词性。由于选项中只出现名词、动词、形容词和副词这四类词性，所以考生只需重点掌握这四类词性的单词的用法即可。
第四步：确定空格处应填入单词的语法形式
在确定空格处应填入单词的词性的同时，考生需要进一步确定空格处应填入单词的语法形式，此时考生需要注意以下三个方面：①如果空格处应填入动词，考生要考虑动词的时态与语态；②如果空格处应填入名词，考生要考虑名词的单复数；③考生要考虑空格处应填入的单词是否与空格前后的内容构成固定搭配。
其实，判断空格处应填入单词的词性和语法形式这两个步骤可以同时进行，下面笔者以2011年12月四级阅读选词填空题真题为例来具体说明。

第五步：根据空格前后的内容确定应填入单词的意思并最终确定答案
考生根据第三、四步所确定的空格处应填入单词的词性和语法形式，对照选项，再结合上下文语境确定应填入单词的意思后，便能选出正确答案了。下面笔者仅以2011年12月四级阅读选词填空题第47、49、51和56题(即空格处应填入名词的四道题)为例来具体分析。(关于选项词性与语法形式的标注请参见上文表1)
第47题：由第三和第四步可知，该空格处应填入名词的单数形式或不可数名词，而备选选项中符合这一条件的只有选项D (role)、E (progress)和H (growth)。再根据空格前面的背景介绍和空格所在句的句意，尤其是which引导的定语从句中出现的double over the next 40 years，考生可以推断出空格处应填入的单词表达的应该就是上文提到的“人口增长”，因此本题的正确选项为H。
第49题：该空格处应填入名词的复数形式，备选选项中符合条件的是选项B (solutions)、L (competitions)、N (challenges)。将这三个备选项带入空格处，考生可以发现challenges符合句意，因此本题的正确答案选项为N。
第51题：该空格处应填入名词的单数形式，只有D (role)和H (growth)符合条件。由于选项H是第47题的正确答案，根据“不重选”的原则，考生可以直接选择选项D为正确答案。
英语四级阅读选词填空题答题步骤 篇4
通读整篇文章，弄清文章的大意和结构，确立正确的背景知识。考生在第一遍阅读中，要善于从文章开头的几句话中把握短文的背景、主题或结构，并结合常识判断构建一定的预期，并在随后的阅读中，不断修正，以求与原文一致。通常情况下，文章开头的一、两句话都是完整的信息，这些句子揭示文章的背景知识或主题思想，考生在阅读中一定要仔细研读，为后面的阅读扫清障碍。
第二步，初选答案
文章读完了，了解大意后，考生便可以开始填空了。在填每个空格时，可以从出题者的出题思路着手，初步作出每个题的答案。总的来说，出题人有以下六种出思路。
(一)词义与词形的辨析
选项与选项之间构成同义词、反义词、形近词的关系。有时出题者也借助选项，考察考生对某些单词词义的精确理解。
举例：Geographerscompare and contrast 71places on the earth.

译文：地理学家比较和对照地球上的什么地方。
出题者精心设计只为考察compare和contrast的精确含义。compare意为to exam forsimilaritiesanddifferences, contrast意为to compare in order toshowdifferences。综合两个词的含义，应为“找出其相似之处与不同之处”。B)various“各种各样”为正确答案。
(二)逻辑关系
所填空格的句子，与上下文构成指代、列举、因果、比较、对比、让步、补充、递进等逻辑关系。
举例：The foreignresearch scholar usually isolates himself inthelaboratory as a means ofprotection; 72, what he needs is tobefitted into a highly organized universitysystem…

根据上下文，空格前的意思为“外籍研究学者通常把自己隔离在实验室里作为一种保护的手段”。空格后为“他需要融入的是高度的组织化的大学系统”。前者是一种孤离的状态“isolate”，而后者都是一种组织化的系统“befitted to ahiglyorganizeduniversity”，从逻辑的角度而言，前后已然成为对立、矛盾的关系。所以答案为表示对比(转折)关系的连词however。
(三)结构识别
这里讲到的结构，是指英文中表祯句子结构的固定词组，如not only…but…,as well,some…theothers…, still others…等。
(四)固定搭配
这里的固定搭配，是指动词与名词之间的搭配。如：同样是“利用……”, 却有不同的搭配take advantageofsth. /makeuse of sth.
(五)动词的用法
考生应从动词的时态、语态(被动语态和主动语态)以及非谓语动词(不定式、动名词、现在分词、过去分词)几个角度逐一考虑。
(六)介词的用法
介词的用法中多考察介词与名词、介词与形容词及及介词与动词的搭配和用法。
除了按照以上六种思路从正面逐一解题外，考生还可以灵活多变地从反面入手，利用排除法获得正确答案。笔者研究发现，在四级考试的选词填空部分，特别是在考察关联词的测试中，利用一种叫“同性元素排除法”的方法能够快速地缩小可选范围，找到正确答案。

在选词填空中，所谓的同性元素是指具有相同的含义，同样的语法以及一致用法的两个或多个选项，只要具备以上几个条件，那它们相互之间就构成了同性元素。其实，同性元素的出现，是出题者黔驴技穷的表现，是为了凑足四个选项不得已而为之的。分析以上两题选项，很明显，86题中，A与B互为同性元素，意思与语法一模一样，均表示“除了…”(不包含)。87题中A与D也如出一辙，均是表示转折的连词，译为“然而，但是”，选项中一旦出现同性元素，它们必定不是正确答案，一旦发现选项中有同性元素存在，考生应立即将其排除掉。这样一来，86题只剩下可选答案C)、D)，87题只剩下B)、C)，可选范围迅速缩小，再根据上下文逻辑关系的判定可得出正确答案86D)，87B)。
第三步，寻找线索
选词填空不同于句子与结构，必须要从整篇文章入手，通篇考虑，结合上下文答案，寻找线索就秉诚了这一思想。有些题从单纯的句子来考虑，我们会发现四个选项均可以入选，但从上下文的线索入手，就能迅速排除其它三个，找到正确答案，从某种意义上来说，“寻找线索“不仅可以考察考生的语言知识，而且更强调对文章内容的整体把握。
第四步，回头补缺
在做题时，如果有的难题一时做不出来，应立刻跳过此题，继续往下做。笔者不提倡考生在某一题上花费大量的时间。道理不言自明，只要考生坚持往下做，随着空格变得越来越少，对文章的理解也越来越轻松，有时就能从下文的线索和暗示中找到答案，这样再回过头来填上答案，也未为晚也。
第五步，核实答案
题目填完后(除个别难度较大的题目外)，考生应利用一到两分钟将答案带入原文通读，通读的目的是通过“语感”来核实答案。这样读下来，不仅可以改正填错的词，而且还可以在这一过程中得到启发，把做不上来的题目填出来。

词汇是基础，是基石，是基本。面对过千的单词量，不总结点方法单纯死记硬背是很吃力的。常见的几个背单词方法：
A、在真题中背单词
优点：结合题目要求背单词，更能掌握单词的使用情况和准确含义，对单词的考察点掌握得更准确
缺点：不成体系，较为零散
推荐：把最近十年的真题都拿出来做一遍，做不了十年，近五年、三年的最起码要做
B、用词汇书中介绍的方法记忆
优点：系统，便利，易于复习和查找
缺点：书本太厚，不易坚持;每个人的记忆习惯不同，尤其对养成学习习惯的人来说不一定合适
推荐：星火的巧记速记，新东方的词根联想都可以尝试，如果是第一次考四六级，那么可以直接照搬书上的方法;如果已经有了自己的背诵习惯，最好选择跟自己的记忆点结合度高的词汇书，周计划、美文情景、实用对话等等，各取所需。
备注：分享两个小故事。
第一个，背单词光有方法也不够，还要保持向上的心态。英语老师常讲，背单词之前先跟自己说，“我背单词我快乐”。感觉略傻气，我在单词书首页抄了一句话：I’m flooded with happiness. 结果单词没背几个，这个句子烂熟于心。所以注意，重点不要跑偏了;

10月份——集中优势兵力，各个击破
有了单词做储备就像士兵整理好了装备，可以踏上征程了。10月份，针对听、读、写、译、词等不同的区域各个击破。这时，我们要对各个环节进行强化训练和提高。
A. 听力：选点感兴趣的东西，录音、视频、听力题都可以，每天听半个小时，保持耳朵的敏感性
B. 阅读：词汇很重要，已做长久准备不多赘述，重点关注长难句和出题逻辑，可以通过做题，看试题解析来把握
