高职高专英语口译教学的现状

我国加入世界贸易组织之后，各种涉外活动与日俱增，各行各业对口译人才的需求量也越来越大，规格和要求也越来越高,因此，越来越多的高职高专院校相应地开设了英语口译课。可见，口译作为一门实用学科正在逐渐占据英语教学的重要地位。然而，口译教学一直是我国翻译界的薄弱环节。目前，我国口译教学的实践和研究与起步较早、发展较为成熟的西方国家相比还十分落后。口译教学设施仍较欠缺和简陋；口译教学的方法和手段尚处于起步阶段；由于缺乏全国统一的教学大纲和统编教材，各地的教学内容和教学方法五花八门。因此，结合时代特点和社会需求开设口译课程，系统有序地培养口译人才，成为高职高专英语教学所面临的严峻挑战。纵观目前高职高专英语口译教学的现状，发现该教学并不规范，主要存在以下问题：

缺乏具有高职高专特色的统编教材，未能体现系统性和实用性高职高专教育培养的是生产、建设、管理、服务等领域的高等应用型专门人才，因此以实用为主、应用为目的的高职高专英语教学与本科生的英语教学有着根本的不同，必须全面贯彻“实用为主，够用为度”的教学指导方针，以培养学生的应用能力，特别是将学生的实用能力作为教学的主攻方向。英语课程不仅要帮助学生打好语言基础，更要注重培养实际使用语言的技能，特别是能够运用英语处理日常和涉外业务活动的能力。高职高专英语的口译课程一般是高职高专院校外语系为英语专业三年级学生所开设的课程。高职高专学生在英语综合运用能力和英语知识体系上都有一定的欠缺，即使在三年级开设口译课，学生所能翻译的内容也十分有限。高职高专院校外语系毕业的学生大多从事外贸、涉外文秘等方面的工作，因此多数学生希望英语口译内容能和自己将来所从事的职业活动有关。然而目前出版的口译教材基本上是面向本科生的，大多数的高职高专院校英语口译课所使用的教材也沿用本科教育所使用的教材。学生普遍反映这些教材太难，且内容涉及面太广，专业针对性不强。因此，出版一整套适合高职高专院校学生的口译教材刻不容缓。

口译专业或课程开设少且课时不足，学生缺乏实践机会由于高职高专院校的学制短，口译课开设时数一般都较少，普遍只有一学期，每周一次，每次两学时或三学时。有的定为必修课，有的则定为选修课。开设时间大多在高年级，一般与笔译课同时进行，也有的先于或后于笔译课开设。英语口译教学与一般的英语语言教学不同，除了要具备扎实的基本功和专业知识外，更要注重实践。口译教学要求班级规模小，这样学生才有更多的锻炼机会，而目前的高职高专院校英语专业的班级人数大多在20人以上甚至更多，在短短的两节课里，每个学生得到的锻炼机会平均只有三四分钟而已。口译课教学常常采取教师朗读或者采用播放录音，学生速记之后逐句翻译，最后教师讲评的方式。这种授课方式虽然有利于教师控制课堂活动，均衡学生的实践机会，但一成不变的方式和晦涩难懂、脱离学生实际生活的长篇内容往往令学生感到枯燥，不利于调动学生的参与热情及训练，不利于提高学生的技能。

教学师资匮乏，现有的师资水平良莠不齐国内高职高专院校的口译教学师资力量亟待壮大。当前，国内口译教师在实践经验、学历资格、教学态度和国际交流等方面与国外同行相比存在很大的差距。国内从事口译教学的教师大多缺乏实践经验，也很少有机会接受专业的口译培训。这些教师缺乏对口译理论和教学的研究，加上没有合适的教材，致使口译课成为口头形式的笔译课，不能有效地进行口译技能的训练。而且学时数较少，教师往往难以在有限的课时内完成既定的教学任务，口译教学效果不佳。此外，教师往往由于重科研、轻实践，不能全身心地投入到口译教学中，对学生的课外指导也相当有限。

口译教学的方法和手段单一，没有充分应用现代信息技术口译课堂教学是传授口译技能与口译实践最基本的形式。反观我国高职高专院校的口译课堂教学，基本上是“教师+学生+教材/磁带/录像带+粉笔”的模式，很少有学生真正参与进来。这种模式偏重于知识的传授，忽视了学生智力的发展、教学设计和教学媒体的最优化作用。教学形式单调，效率较低，信息反馈弱，师生双向交流不足，学生多处于被动接受知识与技能的状态，主动性和创造性受到抑制。21世纪是信息化的时代，现代信息技术被广泛用来提高效率和实用性。为适应这一新形势，国家教育部在2001年启动了“新世纪高等教育教学改革工程”，明确指出要“建设一批富有时代特色的系列课程、教材和教学软件”。令人遗憾的是，很多人仍未意识到国内口译教学及培训改革的紧迫性。“虽有l2%的人表示在教学中逐渐引入了磁带、录像带、VCD、CD、POWERP0INT或多媒体教室，但仍有58%的人从未使用过电教设备”①。实践表明，口译教师不仅要具备一定的翻译理论知识、口译经验与口译教学经验，还要熟悉现代化的教学手段，才能适应信息技术给口译教学方法带来的深刻变化与极大便利。

高职高专英语的口译教学的改革

高职高专英语口译课教学非常重要，但没有既定的模式可循，因此应思考如何根据高职高专院校学生的实际水平，开设同其水平相适应并能够满足其就业需要的口译课。针对高职高专口译教学的现状，结合教学实际情况，笔者认为，高职高专的口译教学应该从以下几方面进行实质性改革。

明確教学目标，制定统一的教学大纲，统编新教材口译人才的培养需要以建立在坚实理论基础之上的教学大纲为指导。应“提出具体要求，最好能够定性定量化，明确教学目的、教学内容、课程设置、学时安排，保证足够的教学时数，做到有纲可循，并要制定相应的检查措施，保证大纲的实施”②。然而，“由于口译教学理论和方法的研究相对滞后，口译教学在不少方面，如开设口译课的时间、口译教学的原则、内容与训练方法等，都存在着不如人意的地方，值得进一步探讨和改进”③。我认为，要搞好高职高专英语口译教学，首先应该制定统一的教学大纲，对教学的目的、要求和考查等提出比较明确的要求，如通过口译教学，学生应该达到什么水平，掌握哪些基本的口译技能和口译员必备的常识，对于各种不同形式的口译各有什么要求，如何进行考核等。其次，由于缺乏统编教材，不利于规范口译教学和统一教学标准，不利于全面迅速地提高我国高职高专院校的英语口译教学质量。因此，根据高职高专院校的特点，结合专业特色编写一套高质量的高职高专英语口译统编教材刻不容缓。目前的口译教材主要“在语言层面训练(双语或多语的对比分析和转换)上做文章，抑或是写些简单的供练习用的资料汇编和练习手册等……而在理论上对口译的实质及口译本身的运作程序进行过认真系统和科学的探讨和阐述者屈指可数。对口译教学法的研究则更少涉及……”④。针对这种现状，高职高专英语口译教材如能在口译理论、教学法、教材编写和测试方法上深入地进行探讨，在内容上体现专业性和时代性，并设计可行的演练手段和步骤，口译教学的技能化、系统性和科学性就能得以实现。

缩减班级规模，增加课时，建立口译实践基地，开展在职培训口译能力归根结底是一种技能，其最佳掌握途径是通过有指导的训练和个人的大量实践。目前的口译教学由于班级规模大，课时少，学生得到实践锻炼的机会少，毕业以后无法胜任口译工作的情况比比皆是。为了提高学生的就业能力，使他们尽早具备工作所需的能力，英语口译教学应该适当缩减班级规模，增加口译课时。另外，开设口译专业或课程的院系还应利用一切社会关系建立口译实践基地，组织学生参加社会实践活动，安排学生到外事部门、交易会、中外企业参加商贸、文化、科技等谈判和接待的翻译工作，锻炼学生的实际工作能力，与此同时应对口译市场和社会需求进行有针对性的调研。对于已经毕业的学生，有条件的外语院系还可以根据实际情况和师资条件对他们开展口译人员的在职业余短期培训。

加大口译师资培训的力度，培养合格的师资，提高教学质量目前，绝大多数高职高专院校缺乏既具备口译理论又有实践经验的口译教师。口译的实践性很强，没有口译实践便很难总结、掌握其规律和技能。因此，建议有关部门加大口译师资的培养力度。开设口译课程的各高职高专院校也可选拔教师到开设口译课的外语学院参加学习和培训，督促、鼓励教师外出进修，接受专业的、正规的口译教学培训，给他们提供实践的机会，使其结合专业特点进行教学实践，逐渐建立一支理论与实践相结合的“双师型”口译教师队伍，以确保教学的规范性和科学性，提高口译教学的质量。担任口译教学任务的教师本人也应努力学习口译的理论知识，积极投身到课外口译的实践活动中，借鉴他人经验，提高自身的教学水平，提高教学质量。

改革传统的口译教学模式，积极应用现代信息技术，开发口译教学软件在高职高专英语口译教学中采用现代信息技术可以扩大学习材料的范围，改变教师与学生之间单一对话的局面。口译教学人员应积极充分地利用计算机多媒体设备，制作P0WERP0INT幻灯片，开发口译教学软件，并应用到口译教学中，提高口译课堂教学的质量与效率。现代电化教学形式为学生提供了理想的学习环境，引导学生积极参与，激发他们的想象力与创造力，使课堂内容与教学方式灵活多样、生动活泼。在现代电化教学课堂中，可以将听与说、听与写、听与读、听与译、考试分析与统计等结合起来，实施口译各项技能的训练。通过多媒体网络进行师生之间、学生与学生之间的协作讨论和口译练习，让学生有更多参与练习的机会，以便真正掌握外语的口译技能。利用现代电化教学手段可以获得大量的新信息，包括国际形势、文化、科技、经济等与教学相关的新闻，以解决教材容量小、内容陈旧的问题，提高学生参与的兴趣与积极性并扩大知识面。还可以利用多媒体实验室、网络实验室或校园网、局域网、同声传译实验室以及远程学习系统等开展“第二课堂”活动，让学生在课外自主进行学习，为学生提供更多的训练机会。

随着我国改革开放的不断深入，全球经济一体化步伐的加快以及对外交流的日益扩大，口译人才的需求量也在急剧地增長。高校是培养口译人才的主要基地，因此，提高口译课的教学质量，培养合格的口译人才成为当务之急。高职高专院校外语专业应结合自身的特点，在教学方法和教学理论方面寻求新的突破，培养更多能够胜任口译工作的优秀人才，为当地的经济、文化和社会的发展做出贡献。

第四遍：不再对照文字，而是找人用比较慢的语速念或者用软件将段落调至比原音慢1-2倍的速度放音，跟着记笔记，然后用源语复述内容，查漏补缺。

第五遍：用正常语速念或播放音视频，跟着记笔记，然后用源语复述内容，查漏补缺。

第六遍：对照文本，按照划分的意群一个意群一个意群翻译，然后对照译文查漏补缺。

第七遍：一个意群一个意群念或播放音视频，边做笔记边翻译。然后对照译文查漏补缺。

第八遍：用比正常速度慢1-2倍的语速播放完整的音视频，边做笔记边翻译，然后对照译文查漏补缺。

第九遍：用正常速度播放完整的音视频，边做笔记边翻译，然后对照译文查漏补缺。

第十遍：对段落的某些部分做微调或找类似的语段考察是否掌握重点词、术语、句型的翻译方式。

这样练过10遍后，应该能熟练掌握一篇文章了。之后先暂时将它放在一边，过一段时间（如一个月）后再用正常语速播放音视频，考察笔记或听译，看还有哪些地方卡壳或翻译不准确。
