海峡两岸口译大赛是在海峡两岸关系出现积极变化, 两岸交流合作发展到一个新的历史起点的大背景下, 由厦门大学成功发起并主办了。该比赛采用专业的赛制和规范的赛程, 不仅要突出母语和外语应用能力, 而且还需要训练有素的口译技巧以及机智非凡的应变能力。而口译考试和口译比赛为对英语爱好者和相关工作人士口译能力的检测手段, 其过程本身和考生未来可能或已经从事的口译工作者既有共性, 也存在着差异性。科学比较对照三者的异同, 有助于师生在教学练习过程中更有针对性, 借助教学实践的平台, 更好的提高口译能力和出色完成口译任务。

一、口译考试、口译比赛和口译实践之比较

1、共性

“口译是一种通过口头表达形式, 将所有听到 (问或听到) 的信息准确而且快速地由一种语言转换成另一种语言, 进而达到传递与交流信息之目的的交际行为, 是人类在跨文化、跨民族交往活动中所依赖的以后总基本的语言交际工具”。 (梅德明, 2002:6) 就其主要的实践过程而言, 口译是听、理解、翻译和正确表达。听是第一个步骤, 听不懂或者未完全听懂、信息有遗漏都无法顺利进行接下来的三个步骤。而且, 口译作为一项特殊的语言交际活动, 具有即时性、口语性、难预测性等特点, 要求口译员具备较高的双语理解和表达能力, 高效记忆和有效的笔记方法、临场应变能力, 渊博的知识储备以及应对高压氛围承受能力等, 对口译员的专业素质和心理素质都是一个严峻的挑战。口译本身的特点决定了口译考试、口译比赛和口译实践的共性, 即其实质和过程相同, 对考生/译员素质的要求也相近。仔细观察比较口译考试、口译比赛和口译实践, 不难发现三者之间还存在着许多不同之处, 这其中有语言形式和内容上的, 也有听众因素方面的。

2、差异

人事部口译资格证书考试 (二级) 分为口译实务和综合能力两个部分。根据《人事部翻译考试:英语二级翻译口笔译考试大纲 (2010下半年最新修订版) 》要求, 《口译综合能力》主要考察应试者听力理解能力, 包括判断、短句选项、篇章选项、听力综述, 听约600单词英语文章后写一篇约200词的英语综述;《口译实务》包括英汉交替传译和汉英交替传译, 即总量约1000单词的英语讲话两篇和总量约1000字的汉语讲话两篇。

而且在口译考试中, 原语形式是预制的录音材料, 通过录音机播放给考生, 材料的语音是按照英语国家人士的标准读音, 考生在语音听辨过程中不存在口音的干扰;选材虽然紧扣大纲, 但依然有其不可预测性, 考生难以为此做针对性很强的准备。因此, 考生必须熟练掌握和牢记各种题材和文体的从字词到句法直至篇章的语言板块, 加强术语训练。在考试时间限定的情况下, 这种对号入座式的操作是高效准确口译的途径之一。尤其是政论、时事新闻、外交接待等特定内容、用词和结构反复性大的文体及习语等, 搭建句子时, 可按照语法规则将这些板块移入其位 (张振梅, 2003:137) 。

比较而言, 在口译比赛当中, 会提前一个星期告知参赛选手赛事主题, 如2012年第四届海峡两岸口译大赛大陆地区区赛主题为“Health and Life”, 选手可针对这一主题进行准备。比赛分为三个环节, 第一环节为主旨口译, 选手现场观看中、英文演讲视频各一段, 长度各一分钟左右, 分别用目的语在45秒内表述其核心内容:第二环节为对话口译, 形式为一位中方嘉宾和一位外方嘉宾就某一话题展开简短讨论, 对话由一名选手担任双向口译;第三环节为会议口译, 为选手为视频中的英文演讲嘉宾和中文演讲嘉宾所做的演讲担任口译。

在口译实践时译员可以最大程度上做好必要的前期准备工作, 诸如主题、范围、涉及内容、面临对象等各方面, 以力求做到有的放矢。但不利因素乃是说话人可能带有的口音和方言等语音问题所造成的听辩困难, 或者有些是超出预先设定和想象范围的, 因此译员还需对发言人的背景进行一定调查, 了解其发音特点和当地口音以及讲话风格等。 (孙永红, 2012)

3、听众因素

奈达主张源语讲话的翻译必须充分考虑译语听众的接受。为了帮助听众确立源语的意义, 译员不应只专注于源语信息的接收、理解、阐释和转述发布, 还应充分关注听众, 了解他们的构成、需要、智力水平、接受能力、接受方式、审美价值取向等, 并根据听众对不同时段译语的反应, 选择其母语文化所特有的思维和表达方式 (包括字词、句式、语体风格、修辞手段、意象等) 发布译语, 将译语听众的受益或效果视为翻译活动的终极目的, 并根据他们交互式的反馈, 对译文进行调整 (刘宓庆, 1999) 。

二、口译考试、口译比赛和口译实践对口译学习与教学的启示

无论是口译考试、口译比赛还是口译实践, 学生都应掌握英译汉、汉译英的口译基本技巧, 准确传达原话意思, 注意语气表达顺畅、语音语调正确, 用词与句法基本正确, 讲究说话的流利与速度。口译教学承载起了口译考试的顺利通过和口译实践的正确指导的双重任务。

MTI (Master of Translation and Interpreting) 是国务院国务院学位委员会为适应我国应用型高层次专门人才的需求, 批准设置的翻译硕士学位, 其教学理念不同于传统的学术性翻译硕士。“MTI教学理念是关注翻译行业需求和职业翻译从业者的素质培养, 以职业翻译从业者的标准为培养目标, 建立以市场需求为导向的职业翻译人才培养机制” (穆雷, 2012) 。针对三者的共性和互补性, 为了培养职业化、应用型人才, 创建术语课程, 更有的放矢的培养人才, 并对广大MTI教育者从“翻译能力关注”走向“职业能力关注” (冷冰冰, 2013) 。

采用口译经典示范引用, 力求学以致用, 模拟实战口译场景, 体现口译综合素质的训练, 特别重视学生心理素质的培训和提高。鉴于口译的特殊性, 只有把口译课内教学与实践训练有机结合起来, 才能最大限度地训练学生的口译实践能力, 让他们在动态的口译交际环境中获得知识, 发现口译中的困难所在以及知识体系的不足。

三、结语

由于口译是实践性很强的工作, 口译课的教学即是以口译理论为指导的实践教学, 三者相结合, 在实践中提高学生的口译能力, 对口译教学工作者很有意义。

引言

随着全球经济一体化进程的加快，中外交流也越来越频繁，是得口译工作变得尤其重要，随之也提高了翻译人员的要求。在研讨会、各种陪同访谈以及商务谈判上，经常不可避免的运用数字，但由于中英文数字的计量方法存在差异，数字口译给翻译人员带来了许多困扰，且数字口译还具有特殊性，很多数字难以记忆，一般要求口译人员在极短的时间内把这些数字翻译出来，对他们来说是一个巨大的挑战。在进行商务或者外事谈判时，一旦错译或漏译一些数字，将会导致非常严重的后果，这可能造成谈判失败，还可能会引发一些无法避免的争端。因此，对于英语口语中的数字口译，必须要掌握良好的方法和技巧，避免出现数字口译错误，以保证顺利完成口译工作。

一、中英数字表达方式的区别

1.中英数字位数表达的区别。英文中的数字表达却与中文相比存在着很大差异，我们知道，在中文中每一位数字都有固定的表达方法。中文数字按从小到大排列，依次是个、十、百、千、万、十万、百万、千万、亿、十亿、百亿、千亿，都是以十的倍数计量的，这种计量单位简单、易记。然而，英文数字是以三位数作为一个计量单位依次计数，按照从小到大排序，其计量单位依次是百（hundred），千（thousand），百万（million），十亿（billion），通常是按照这四个基本计量单位对其他数位的数字进行计数的。另外，在数字口译中还必须注意美式英语与英式英语的区别，主要是在十亿以上的数位表达上存在差异，比如对于70亿的翻译，美式英语是seven billion，而英式英语则是seven thousand million。即英式英语通过thousand million来表达billion。

2.中英数字计量单位上的区别。中国与国外的数字单位有很大不同，我们经常看到一些单位，比如两、斤、尺等等，而在英语中是没有这些单位表达方式的，英语数字单位主要有gram、kilogram、mile、inch等等。口译人员不仅要掌握这些单位的表达，而且还要进行准确的换算，比如one kilogram相当于中国的2斤。由此可见，计量单位的区别给口译工作造成了很大的困难。

3.中英倍数与分数表达的区别。在数字口译过程中，中文与英文对于倍数的表达方式也存在很大差异。中文中对倍数的表达可以采取两种形式，比如用A和B来表示，即“A是B的N倍”和“A比B大N倍”，这两种表达方式所表达的意思是不一样的。然而在英文中，这两种表达方式所表达的意思却是一样的。例如，在中文中，A是B的6倍，那么A等于6B，而A比B大6倍，就相当于A是B的7倍，也即后一种表达方式是前一种的N+1倍。但是，在英文倍数表达方式中，对上述中文倍数的两种表达方式的意思却是相同，即“A is N times larger than B”，也可表示成“A is N times as large as B”。

二、中英数字口译的方法和技巧

1.长数字的翻译。数字口译中难度最大的就是长数字的翻译，可以根据英语以三位数作为一个计量单位的特点，使用逗号标记法对数字作三位标记，从千位开始进行依次转换，一个逗号表示千，两个逗号表示百万，那么三个逗号就表示十亿。

2.模糊表达策略。在数字口译过程中，很多时候数字用来表述具体情况而选择的手段，这时数字虽然重要但还要能清楚地表达语境信息。特别是在没听清数字的情况下，能够清楚地表达语境信息就变得尤为重要，可以根据整句的内容大致猜测数字的趋势，然后选取合适的词语表达出来。但是，口译人员必须要选取合适的模糊词语，不要扭曲原文的意思，比如十几个表示为more than a dozen，几十个则表示为dozens of，不能混淆。

3.单位的翻译。在口译过程中，要对单位进行准确地翻译，这样才能保证口译工作的顺利进行。如果在记录数字时，出现了单位的翻译错误，就会导致整句口译出现错误。因此，口译人员一定要加强对单位的翻译的重视，这就需要翻译人员要熟练掌握长度、面积、体积以及重量的翻译方法，对一些常用的单位，学会简写，方便翻译和记录。

总之，口译工作是机具挑战性的，而数字口译又是口译工作中的一个难点，这就需要口译人员必须掌握以上介绍的方法和技巧，提高口译精准度，以保证顺利完成口译工作。

英语口译学习心得

我的日子滴在时间的流里，没有声音，也没有影子。转眼间一个学期就这样匆匆过去，让我恋恋不舍。在期末的时候写一份总结，回顾这几个月学习，甚是有幸。

首先，明确自己学习口译的目的。我记得 The Seven Habits of Successful Person 一书中有一句 With ends in mind，以始为终，我非常喜欢。学习口译首先要问清自己为什么学，对于我来说一方面是兴趣使然，另一方面是今后谋生手段，所以选择这个专业。如果真正弄清楚了意义，那么就会努力去学习，在困难的过程中不断实现自我激励，才会有可能成功做成事情。

其次，对于学习来说，没有放之四海而皆准的规则，英语口译更如是。通过跟着老师学习，上网查阅资料，阅读一些翻译书籍，向翻译前辈请教，与同学们交流，我觉得口译学习更多的是要找到适合自己的方法。以自己现有的实力为基础，查缺补漏，吸取他人之长，结合自己的兴趣，统筹安排时间，制定出学习计划，按部就班地提高口译水平。

谈到具体的学习方法，我觉得首先要选好与自己水平相适应的书籍来做练习，在学校上完课自己还要做一个单元的配套练习，增加自信的同时提高英汉互译水平。这是一个艰巨的目标，需要坚定的自制能力，不过效果是显著的。另外，增加单词的积累也是非常重要的。我在做翻译练习的过程中发现有很多中国特色词汇，习语谚语等，这就需要大量记忆。做口译练习的时候自己也常常总结一些经验，发现会议口译是有规可循的，把握规律，然后反复练习、记忆最终达到脱口而出的效果。还有让我受益良多的就是扩大自己的知识面。增大自己的阅读量，每天手机上网读些中文的材料，政治财经地理历史军事等都要阅读；我还订阅economist这个杂志，锻炼自己用英文获取信息的能力，了解西方主流媒体对世界热点问题的舆论态度，以及全球政治经济走向。这对自己今后从事翻译工作奠定了夯实的基础。

除了正确的方法，还有一样东西也很重要，持之以恒的精神。这听起来像是大白话，但真理往往是很朴素的。通过这次的英语口译学习，我更加认识到语言的学习是一个循序渐进的过程，在平时的学习中一定要贯彻持之以恒的思想意识，想在短时间内突击取得什么成绩的想法基本就是白日梦。课堂上老师讲的都是方法性、启发性的东西，是引领你学习方向的一些指导思想，如果不能通过持之以恒的实践将这些指导思想内化为自己的营养，进步也不会太大的。语言是文化的近亲，要想学好永远都不够，这是一个需要终身学习的东西，当学到一定的阶段的时候会发现学习没有止境、乐趣也是无穷的。

1 引言

从上世纪90年代起, 上海英语中高级口译证书考试 (以下也称中高口) 一直深受广大学员青睐。英语学习中, 书面表达十分重要, 但口译能力和演讲技巧亦是一个良好的英语学习者应有的素养, 否则英语学习只是“纸上谈兵”。本文从语音语调、即兴话题/即兴演讲、记忆训练、体态语言四个方面出发, 并结合实践经验与具体例子, 来探讨口译与演讲的共通之处。

2 口译与演讲的共通之处

(1) 口译与演讲中的语音语调 (Voice and Intonation)

讲好英语的第一要素是语音语调准确。只有准确, 才能有效地进行表达和交流 (董爱国, 2008) 。中高级口译的难点在口试阶段, 良好的语音语调十分关键。此考试中, 中、高级的笔试通过率分别是50%、25%左右, 而口试则分别只有20%、10%左右。从数据看, 口译的难度和重要性不言而喻。在“外研社杯”全国英语演讲比赛中也规定, 演讲者应发音标准, 语速适中, 语调节奏富于变化。从语音角度讲, 若出现/s//θ/混淆, /l//n/不分, /r//l/不清, 则为大忌。口语能力与听力水平息息相关, 听力中的信息来源于对单词的熟知度。如单词subtle音标为/'sʌtl/字母“b”不发音, 若仅凭字面发音为'sʌbtl/, 那么, 在之后的听力中出现该单词时, 听到的“l”是/'sʌtl/, 脑中的词库无法受到信息刺激, 视之为陌生单词。此类情况越多, 对听力水平影响越大。同样, 英语演讲时, 外教会现场提问, 语音知识的不足导致无法正确听懂提问内容, 这种情况是再多的“Pardon, Excuse me”都无法弥补的。

(2) .口译与演讲中的即兴话题/即兴演讲 (Impromptu Topic/Speech)

中高口的口试第一部分是即兴发言。如, 2012年的话题是“如何看待‘四个法定节假日不收七座以下机动车过路费’的规定”。再如, “如何看待中国式过马路”等。回答即兴问题, 笔者提出“总述—分述—总述”的概念。例如, 中高口口试中一题口语题“On Developing Tourism” (邱政政、汪海涛, 2009) 。根据“总述—分述—总述”的逻辑顺序, 可先概括旅游业的现状;再讨论旅游业带来的利与弊 (advantages and disadvantages) , 阐述其如何带动其他产业发展, 又如何破坏生态和谐;最后可稍作总结。在2012年大学生英语演讲比赛某省决赛中的一个即兴演讲话题是“你认为大学里还需开设音乐和美术课程吗”。此处, “总述—分述—总述”的逻辑顺序依旧适用。

3 口译与演讲中的记忆训练 (Memory Training)

中高口的口试第二部分要求听一段话, 结束后根据“始译信号”翻译, 并在“止译信号”前结束翻译。这是对考生听力、笔记和译文输出能力的全面考核。做接续性口译时, 笔记显得十分重要。“好记性不如赖笔头” (The palest ink is better than the best memory.) , 就是这个道理 (梅德明, 2011) 。良好的口译笔记策略能够有效地提高译员的短时记忆能力, 帮助其及时回顾信息, 保证信息的准确和完整 (江晓梅, 2010) 。成功的口译笔记是简而精的、纵向记录的 (vertical) 、逐行嵌入式的 (indented) 。例如:广州自古以来就是一座开放的城市。早在一千多年前, 我们的祖先就通过海上丝绸之路, 与世界各地建立了密切友好的往来。口译笔记如下 (仲伟合, 2007) :

口译笔记训练适用于英语即兴演讲环节。即兴演讲准备时间很短, 不可能像写作文一样把要表达的语句一一写下。此刻, 口译笔记发挥了关键作用, “纵向”罗列出演讲大纲十分重要。

4 口译与演讲中的体态语言 (Body Language)

让·艾赫贝尔 (Jean Herbert) 说过, 口译员应避免语调呆板、平淡、毫无生气 (黄建凤、李雪, 2007) 。中高口口试和英语演讲, 虽不像外交场合一样正式, 但就体态语言而言, 应注意以下几点:眼神交流 (eye contact) 、手势动作 (gesture) 、站姿 (standing posture) 、面部表情 (facial expression) 和着装 (dressing) 。为了达到最佳的沟通效果, 要让每位观众都感觉到译员在与他们每一个人进行交流, 这时就要借助眼神的力量 (仲伟合, 2007) , 而眼神的游离 (eye floating) 则为大忌。中高口口试与演讲过程中, 即便稍稍紧张或怯场, 也应保持端正和大方, 尽量放轻松;微笑则是战胜舞台恐惧症 (stage fright) 的最佳表情。

5 结语

中高级口译的学习与大学生英语演讲技巧掌握密不可分, 两者互相联系与影响, 良好的口译素养对演讲有很大的帮助。正确理解与掌握这两者的共通之处有助于全面提高学生英语口语能力以及英语综合素养。以上所述的四点共通之处是口译学习与演讲技巧掌握的基础, 两者相辅相成、紧密联系, 能为英语口语学习者提供帮助。

新疆高校英语专业口译教学探索 篇8

口译是指一种通过口头表达形式，将所听到的信息准确而又快速地由一种语言转换成另一种语言，进而达到传递与交流信息之目的的交际行为，是人类在跨文化、跨民族交往活动中所依赖的一种基本的语言交际工具梅德明。近年来随着国际合作的不断深化，各高校英语专业纷纷开设口译课程，其目的就是要培养能够流利的进行英汉互译的应用型人才。在西部大开发的今天，人才培养，尤其是应用型的翻译人才培养是尤其值得关注的，因此，新疆少数民族地区高校的英语口译教学有其必要性和实践意义。

一、口译的分类与特点

口译是一种综合运用视、听、说、写、读等知识和技能的语言操作活动。译员要对原语进行听辨，理解，记忆，分析，代码转换，最后用译入语表达出来。在整个口译过程中译员应具有听力理解和信息处理能力及语言表达能力，其中涉及到短期记忆，记笔记，译数字，阅视翻译等其他技能。因此，口译课是一门专业技能课。其特点为：①即席性，即口译员要进行现时现场口译操作，译员不能对双方的交谈进行预测，现场环境及气氛未知因素多，译员需在双方交流间隙即刻进入双语语码切换状态。同时依据即席性的特点，口译员通常听到的是非重复性的话语，他在正确理解的同时必须立即独立地进行一次性的翻译。②综合性，口译是综合运用视"听"写"读"说等知识和技能的语言操作能力，译员必须具有敏锐的观察力。及时捕捉说话者的面部表情，手势，体姿等非语言因素。能进行快速笔记并且用母语和外语进行流利而达意地表达能力。③专业性，口译的服务对象来自不同国家，各个阶层，各行各业，有着不同的文化背景的人，因此要求口译人员能尽可能的熟悉专业领域知识。④跨文化交际性，口译作为一种跨文化交际活动，不是从源语言到目标语言的单向解码过程，而是将其视为一个解码再编码的动态过程。

二、英语专业口译教学现状

由于我国口译教学历史相对较短，口译教学还暴露出一些严重不足：缺少口译教学大纲，口译教学理论和方法相对滞后，缺乏好的口译教材等，这些都使得口译课变成了高级口语课。①课堂互动少。国内众多大学的口译教学都存在着将口译课堂变成一般性的语言训练课的问题。“教”与“学”不能相互协调，教师一味的根据固有的教学模式来制订教学计划，在课堂中仅仅进行知识的“灌输”和“再现”，考核方式上也大多是采取单一的标准来衡量学生的成绩和表现，而非科学、合理的“引导”和“组织”教学，着力培养学生口译课的兴趣和学习口译的信心。②缺乏实践性。在口译课的教学过程中，教师通常会通过角色扮演、情景对话以及专题演讲等形式来组织教学活动，教学的话题和主题虽然涉及国际关系、经济、外贸、文化教育、旅游等方面，但在有限的教室内，情景也只能通过学生的想象构造出来，无法使得学生身临其境，不利于学生应变能力和抗压能力的培养。这种缺乏实践性的静态的教学模式显得比较程序化和机械化，内容也难免显得枯燥乏味。③教材选择。根据口译教程出版情况的统计来看，2000年以后出版的口译教程占总发行量的绝大多数，口译教程出版种类达到几十种，同时根据口译形式的不同，英语口译教程又可以分为交替传译教程，同声传译教程和视译教程。根据教育部高等学校翻译专业教学协作组2011年通过了《高等学校翻译专业本科教学要求》，其中明确提出本科阶段口译课程定位，即口译方向的培养目标是要提高学生的双语转换能力，着眼于培养学生交替传译的基本能力，训练基本功，同时依据地区特点及学校办学特色，侧重进行某一类型的口译训练。最终的培养目标并非一定要达到会议口译交替传译的能力，学生只要能胜任初中级难度口译活动，例如，陪同口译、商务口译等，以此为日后的职业口译能力发展奠定基础。

三、少数民族地区英语专业口译教学

根据2000 年 《高校英语专业教学大纲》规定，口译是高校英语专业高年级的必修课程。全国各类高校的英语专业纷纷开设了口译课，新疆少数民族地区由于自然和历史原因，经济总体发展水平不高。新疆的高校所处地区大多较为封闭，教学资源相对落后，生源水平不理想，英语专业学生语言功底较为薄弱，教师教学目标不明确，师资力量薄弱，教学方法欠缺科学性。以上因素都说明了新疆高校不能盲目跟风，应根据本地区特点进行口译教学的定位及课程设置。

首先，把握好定位。疆内少数民族地区高校由于诸多条件限制，口译教学应避免理论化，定位时需要着重考虑“基础性”，即重点放在“初中级”水平学生，通过降低语言难度来促进理解， 以此让学生有更多的精力关注口译技能的训练而不仅仅是语言纠错，听力提高等语言技能强化类训练。教师也应该考虑如何让口译教学更加实用，以适用于学生未来的发展，并适用于民族地区未来的发展。

其次，合理设置课程。国内高校一般是在大学三年级开始开设口译课程。开课时间一般为两学期。考虑到少数民族地区高校的教学条件，学生水平等，疆内高校可以将两学期的课时细化为几个阶段来循序渐进的进行口译教学。第一阶段进行理论概念介绍及口译视频观摩，通过1～2周的宏观讲解使学生能大致的了解口译的功能和作用，此阶段以教师讲解为主。第二阶段，专项口译技能训练。教师可根据难易度进行记忆法，视译法，笔记法等专项技能的训练。需要注意的是练习材料要简单，降低语言难度，才能让学生更好地集中注意力于技能练习。同时，要注意虽然是单个技能练习，但只有所有技能综合在一起才能称为口译。每个技能不是在一个阶段练习完就结束了，而是要学生在接受技巧和训练方法的基础上，长期进行练习。第三阶段，综合技巧应用及实战环节，在这个阶段教师选材要尽可能注重各项口译技能的融合。课程的最后部分教师可在课内努力为学生建构口译实务场景，如真实口译场景训练，或者请外国讲者来到课内，让学生进行现场翻译，旨在让学生感受真实的口译任务。针对新疆少数民族地区特点，口译教师可以选择本地常用的外事口译素材（如经济文化、旅游、国际国内扶贫项目等），这样既符合实际，又能为地方储备语言人才。

综上，随着新疆少数民族地区对外交流与合作与日剧增，翻译市场急需大量的高素质口译人员。疆内各大高校英语专业口译课程开设以及翻译硕士专业的发展已经是大势所趋。要培养好的口译人员，要因材施教，因人施教，使得高校的口译人才培养更好的为新疆经济发展做出贡献。
