高中英语课程强调在进一步发展学生综合能力的基础上, 着重提高学生应用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析信息、和运用英语思维和表达的能力。而广东高考英语读写任务这一题型, 将阅读、写作融为一体, 并考查考生语言的综合运用能力, 就恰当地体现了这种理念。

正所谓不打无准备之仗。我认为读写任务备考可以分为二个阶段来完成。

一、初级准备阶段

尽管我认为正式开始写作训练不宜太早, 但一些必要的词汇、短语、各类句子结构和常用句型的积累是必须要在此之前做一些准备的。前者启动太早学生容易疲劳, 后者启动太晚学生容易焦虑, 不利于备考。因为字、词、句的积累不是短时间就可以做到的。

所以, 在词汇、短语的备考过程中, 我就借助备课组的集体备课资料进行训练, 主要方式是词汇、短语测试, 有时还对一些写作常用词汇、短语进行听写。句子的训练主要是从往年的基础写作范文中挑出一些好的句子, 将其分门别类整理成每日两句的中文形式给学生翻译, 并每天加以评讲和背诵。以下是一些常用材料模式:

二、作文训练阶段

第一阶段的工作是一直要延续到二轮复习结束才可以停止的, 但第二阶段的工作必须在这期间就着手准备。基础写作要先于读写任务开始, 因为前者对句子的要求很高, 如果这部分的训练到位, 后者的训练障碍就扫除了一大半, 剩下的就只是一些格式和技巧的东西了。

按照该题型的特点, 我将它分为两部分进行突破。

1. 如何写Summary。

虽然只有5分, 但却是不可小看的分值, 因为它的好坏可能会影响到论述部分的评分。所以我给了他们一些技巧性的引导, 如概括四不原则:不抄袭 (可照抄原词, 不可照抄原句) 、不发挥 (要客观, 不可主观) 、不细节 (忽视细节和次要信息) 、不超数 (30-40字之间) 。除此之外, 文章的体裁直接决定了概括要抓的要点。

1) 记叙文:学生只要了解文章当中“什么人、发生什么事、结果怎么样”就足够了。另外再加上一些常用开头语, 如The story/passage is about...;The writer/author tells us about...;The story mainly tells us that...等。

2) 夹叙夹议:“什么人、发生什么事、结果怎么样、说明了什么道理”, 常用开头语, 如By presenting the exam-ple of..., the author shows us that...;概述故事:By presenting this story, the author wants to tell us that...;The author told a story that..., conveying/indicating us...等。

3) 议论文:这种体裁可以分成两类, 即观点对比类和非观点对比类。

观点对比类, 由于这类文体的观点比较明显, 无需过多概括, 所以只要套用一些句型结构就可以了。如Somthink..., as/because... However, some prefer to do..., saying/believing...等。

非观点对比类, 多采用全文概括结合段落大意概括的形式, 语言表达常用四大招: 句型转换、同义词替换、提炼关键词、主题句+支撑句。

2. 如何写好论述部分。

这一部分的主要问题是学生经常无话可说, 还有就是段落之间的衔接很生硬。针对这些现象, 我叫学生在论述之前一定要先写好一个提纲, 再列好段落与段落之间的衔接句。这些内容准备好之后, 草稿都不用打, 就可以直接照着提纲陈述论点, 绝对不会出现无话或衔接生硬的现象, 省时且效果也不错。例如:

1) 为什么有学生逃学的现象?

2) 逃学有什么危害?

Key sentence: However, there is no doubt that...

除此以外, 还要注意其内容的合理性以及与阅读材料的联系, 尽量顺着阅读材料的“文脉”来组织材料。检查文章, 注意文章是否通顺, 任务是否落实。适当调整文章的谋篇布局, 做到观点鲜明, 内容连贯, 层次清楚。

这类要点中常含“以你或你朋友的经历说明……” “讲述一次你或你朋友…..的经历”等。叙述经历一般包括记叙文的基本要素,即某人在何时何地因何原因做何事。这个故事往往是与阅读材料中的故事相类似的,是要紧扣你要说明的主题的。

浅议“任务”型读写结合教学 篇3

一、挖掘素材,寻找读写“生成点”

根据一定的语境以及要求,教师需要引导学生创造性地综合运用阅读文本中的素材,实现阅读文本功能的最大化和最优化。这里的“任务”,需要寻找阅读与写作的“生成点”来共同合作,从而完成特定目标。

这里以《少年闰土》一课为例,教师可以根据课文内容进行以下设计:假如现在全班正在进行“城市和农村,哪个环境更有利于孩子成长”这一辩论赛,你会选择哪一方?请从课文中选择素材来支持你的观点,并把主要观点以及理由写下来。这一设计,正是抓住了文本的“生成点”——抓住不同地区、不同时代孩子的生活对照这一“突破口”作为“生成点”。这不仅仅考虑到对学生写作能力的培养,还考虑到学生对《少年闰土》这篇课文的理解程度,属于创造性灵活性地运用文本,超越文本,从而有效做到引导学生用自己的语言把对这篇课文的理解真正表达出来。

二、有效设计,寻找读写“结合点”

由于任务型读写结合的目标并不仅仅是为了理解文本或者加深习作训练,更是为了共同完成某一项任务,因而针对这一类教学,最关键的就是让学生能够综合运用阅读材料来设计题型,在“任务”中,让阅读与写作的“结合点”得到最大的阐释。

比如针对《地震中的父与子》这一课,教师就可以这样设计:“现在中央电视台正在评选十大感动中国人物,这对地震中的父子被评为感动中国人物,请你结合课文给他们写一段颁奖辞。这一设计,正是抓住了文本与生活相接轨的“结合点”来开拓生成的。它与传统教学中对文本进行改写不同的是,这种任务型读写结合目标明确,动机强烈,而且形式有趣,能够与学生的生活发生更多紧密联系,能够最大可能地培养学生对文本的创造综合运用能力。针对这一课,教师正是有效抓住了文中的读写“结合点”作为“突破口”,从而引导学生主动深入课文,理解课文。

三、加强整合,寻找读写“交融点”

任务型读写结合,需要创设一定的交际情境和设计任务,从而促使学生尽可能创造性地运用原有的阅读文本。从某种意义上讲,阅读与写作的有效整合,是提升学生语文素养的有效手段。这里需要强调的是阅读与写作的协同发展,相互交融。

比如针对《鲸》这一课的教学,可以这样设计:“对于一、二年级的小学生来说,他们根本就不知道鲸是鱼还是哺乳动物,如果请你给他们去介绍鲸鱼,你会选用文中哪些素材?请你好好思考一下,结合小学生的年龄特征,组织一段文字写下来。或者可以这样设计:“请你为鲸设计一份读书卡片配一份解说词,从文中搜寻素材,重新组织文字。这一任务型读写结合,和本单元的习作训练指向不谋而合。这种形式正是为了结合一定的语境,共同搭建平台,在文本与训练之间寻找一个“交融点”即一条读写有机结合的捷径,从而创造性地让阅读与习作有机结合的一种新课模式。

阅读与写作,二者是相辅相成、并驾齐驱的只有将二者有机结合,才能让学生的语文素养得到提高。

在读写任务中实施产出性词汇教学 篇4

一、融合词性、词义与用法的语境教学法

同一个词在不同语境中可能有不同词性、词义和用法,词汇若仅仅是字母组合,必然枯燥呆板,唯有置于生动语境,才真正被赋予了生命,而鲜活的词自然更利于学生记忆和运用。在教学高一牛津英语“Surprises at The Studio”一课时,要教授短语powder one's face,而powder作为高频的产出性词汇,情况较为复杂:作为动词,表示“给某人脸上扑粉”;作为名词,则是“火药”,该词义容易被学生忽略。为此,在备课过程中,我试图通过语境设计,将powder的不同词性、不同词意和不同用法传达给学生。我想起了早先自己在学习翻译时,教授说过的经典句子:“Mulan prefers to face the powder rather than powder the face.”(花木兰不爱红妆爱武装。)于是,便在课上把这句话分享给学生,将power和face的两种用法融合于同一语境,方便记忆又明确用法。至今我还记得学生听闻此句时饶有兴致的眼神和心领神会的微笑,想必己将powder和face这两个高频词汇的含义和用法牢记于心了。

二、以故事情节发展为主线的情境教学法

阅读教学不能脱离文本,在课堂活动设计中教师都会注重通过故事情节发展来设计教学任务。但同样,词汇教学亦不能脱离文本,如果教师完全脱离课文,只是拿着生词表或词汇手册在侃侃而谈,词汇对学生而言无疑会是冰冷的、陌生的。而事实上,正如阅读教学,词汇教学也完全可以通过故事情节的发展线索进行。在处理高二牛津英语“Green Orchids”一课的词汇教学时,我发现开门见山的主题句“Life is a series of choices”,不仅能引发学生思考,激发阅读兴趣,更是该文的主线。基于此,我便以故事情节发展为主线进行了词汇教学:主人公最后的追悔莫及,全因当时贪婪的选择,目光短浅而未预见后果,注定会以悲剧收场。由此,通过故事主线的串联和逻辑关系的推理,一些诸如choice,consequence,foresee,doom的关键词被学生顺利掌握。理清脉络后,我又引导学生挖掘command,demand等精妙词汇来分析主人公的性格,加深对这些高频词汇的理解、记忆,并学会正确运用。

三、基于主题背景的任务驱动教学法

若词汇的类别和形式太分散,无疑会增加记忆和运用词汇的难度。如何改善这一情况?在高三的教学过程中,我正巧接到培训基地关于研究“基于主题背景的词汇教学”任务,而这个任务所带来的思考,无疑能让我帮助学生构建知识体系,并在此基础上教会学生运用实践。

有一次我正指导学生写应用文“How to write a persuasive application letter”,而在帮助学生构建好书信结构和提纲后,我发现学生在正文自荐申请的部分大多会因为缺乏相关词汇或未能恰当使用词汇,致使词不达意,文章平淡乏味。对此,我首先要求学生根据求职的需求对相关词汇进行分类和归纳,在此基础上扩充词组或相关搭配,而后,让学生将这些词组构成完整句子,提供有效证据去佐证他们的观点。整个教学过程中,始终提醒学生最终目的是帮助主人公Nina写出一封具有说服力的求职信,以此任务为驱动,让学生在完成写作主题的同时,归纳整理脑海中的相关词汇。而从写作反馈来看,由于主题背景下的任务激活了词汇,学生的用词表意有了很大改观。

在高中英语教学阶段,阅读教学占有重要地位,同时也是解决学生写作问题的主要阵地。教师应当把读写任务结合起来,适当地引导学生从阅读向写作延伸,激发学生续写、改写或仿写课文的兴趣,以提高学生的写作能力。

一、读写相关性的理论研究:

早在20世纪60至70年代,语言学家们就对读写相关性进行了理论和实证研究。结构主义语言学家认为,写作和阅读是“编码”和“解码”的过程,读写都是对同一书面材料进行积极思维加工的过程,具有一定的相关性。语言行为理论认为,作为接受技能的“读”和作为运用技能的“写”分别负责语言的理解和语言的运用。这两项技能通过具体的语言产生互动,达到作者与读者之间的信息传递。随着认知语言学的发展,人们逐渐意识到读与写具有共同的关键性认知机制,并共享人类某些思维活动的认知过程。Shanahan(1984)的实证研究表明,如果将读与写的教学合二为一同时进行,学生在这两方面的技巧可以有45%的交叠发展。

通过以上理论和实证研究来看,教师在日常的英语教学过程中把英语阅读和写作有效地结合成读写教学,除了能够帮助学生解决文本中的单词和语法问题,引导学生理解和欣赏文章,还能够帮助学生深刻认识文章所设计的人物和社会现象,引导他们对这些人物和社会现象进行客观公正的评价,形成自己的观点,并且写成文章。这样学生可以通过阅读的输入,利用足够多的机会输出习得的语言知识。长期锻炼下来,学生的写作能力自然会得到较大的提高。笔者就此结合《牛津高中英语》(译林版)做了一些思考和尝试。

二、读写结合的一些具体措施及实例:

在读写任务的教学过程中,教师要注意培养学生在语言、内容和篇章结构方面的能力,引导学生关注文本的体裁与题材、语言特点和篇章结构,并适时安排与文本相关的写作训练。笔者将以《牛津高中英语》Module 5 Unit 3中的Reading部分《The Perfect Body》一文为例,谈谈自己在教学过程中如何开展读写任务。

1. 阅读:熟悉并理解课文

教材提供了大量的阅读材料和语言实践机会,包括丰富的阅读素材和语言信息,拓宽了学生的英语语言、文化和科学视野。在本单元,学生接触到了有关cloning、GM food以及man and nature的相关话题。针对《The Perfect Body》一课,在要求学生熟悉课文时,笔者设计了以下表格,用提问的方式帮助学生更好地理解文本,同时也为后面利用此表格内容进行写作做铺垫。

2. 积累:欣赏课文中的好句

教材在为我们打开英语学习之窗的同时,也帮助我们了解很多文化、科学以及提供大量的语言材料,包括词汇、短语和各种句型。同时教师可以在文本的基础上为学生补充拓展一些词汇。

在本单元中,写作常用词汇有intention、anxiety、legal、transform、original、judgment、majority、reliable、resource等。和写作相关的课文和拓展重点短语有be for/in favor of、approve of、agree with、disagree with、be opposed to、object to、oppose、on the one hand...on the other hand、on a personal note、in general、even though、after all、cause much debate、concentrate on、focus their efforts on、benefit mankind、meet our needs、from the point of some people等。这些都是写作中常用的一些表达词汇。此外,还有一些优秀的句子,诸如:

Other people argue that such thinking may cause a catastrophe, unless we start to look around and understand how a clean environment benefits us all.(此句中的argue明显比think一词更为高级)

Scientists have announced that..., which has caused much debate round the world.(此句恰当地运用了高级句型——非限制性定语从句)

通过分析、比较、理解和欣赏,学生会对这些词汇、短语和句型留下深刻的印象,逐步积累更多的语言知识,从而为阅读能力的提升奠定基础,同时也为以后相关的写作训练提供丰富的语言素材。

3. 强化学生语篇意识

写作不是堆砌句子,优秀的文章通过有逻辑关系的句子或句群呈现主题。优秀的学生习作亦能让人一气呵成地读完并清晰把握其主旨,原因在于逻辑的清晰有序。教材文本正是这样的极佳范本。记叙文在表述中要交待事件发生的时间、地点、任务及事件的起因、经过与结果,此外还常包括作者就此事发出的感想。说明文需要根据说明的对象来安排不同的段落以说明不同的特点或性状。议论文是以现象、论点、论据、结论等段落组成的在内容上有关联的为主题服务的文章,而不是仅仅以firstly、secondly等逻辑词组成一篇形式上的文章。教师还可以分析文本,提炼框架结构,通过提供类似结构的写作训练帮助学生理解并掌握运用,从而达到引导学生逐步构建作文框架的目的。

4. 情景与表达:尝试运用课文中的语言知识和表达方式

学生在写作时会出现焦虑现象,原因之一就是对写作主题感到陌生,无话可说。而通过阅读教材文本设计与文本内容相关的写作训练能有效降低学生的焦虑情绪。有了相关话题的基本表达模式和丰富的语言知识积累,学生应该具备了写好同类题材的能力。在对阅读文章进行充分理解和讨论后,笔者趁热打铁,给学生布置了一个任务——运用上面有关cloning的表格完成以下写作任务:

(1) 用约30个单词写出《The Perfect Body》的文章概要;

(2)用约120个单词发表你的观点,内容包括支持或反对克隆的理由,并用2~3个理由支撑你的观点。

【写作要求】(1)可以支持文中任一观点,但必须提供理由或论据;

(2)阐述观点或提供论据时,不能直接引用原文原句;

(3)不必写标题。

以下是一篇优秀习作,学生较好地运用了本单元所学习的知识。

News comes that scientists have cloned the first human embryo, raising social concern along with debate.The opinions that different people have are divided into two sides. Some people are for cloning creatures while others hold the opposite view.

From my point of view, the development of cloning, which is faster than we can think about, can be beneficial to lives on the earth, so I am in favor of it. 摘要:读写任务是近年江苏高考试卷中出现的新题型。这种形式对于学生的思维判断、审题立意和语言表达能力都提出了更高的要求。根据读写相关性的理论研究,结合教学实践,笔者针对如何在高中英语教学中开展读写任务提出了一些建议。

一、如何进行听说的训练

新编教材安排了许多听说训练的内容, 但由于应试教育的影响, 长期以来语文教学中重视读写轻视听说的现象相当普遍。学生的听说能力比较薄弱。因此听说训练必须遵循循序渐进的原则, 不能一下子要求过高。开始训练时可要求学生根据训练内容把一段话说完整, 然后再要求学生说的有条理, 说的清楚具体。同时, 听说训练要充分发挥学生的想象力, 学生由于缺乏实践经验, 可能有不切实际的想象, 教师就要善于引导他们合理想象, 这样学生的口头语言表达能力才能得到提高。

二、如何进行读的训练

第一要培养学生在理解的基础上朗读。学生的朗读要在理解课文内容, 掌握课文中心思想的基础上进行。如果教师总是让学生做无准备的结结巴巴的试读, 那就容易使他们丧失朗读信心, 对朗读不感兴趣。学生的朗读要和字词讲解、课文分析、教师范读、学生默读等一系列活动结合进行。第二要充分发挥学生的创造力。少年儿童的特点是想象力强, 勇于创新。教师要充分利用这一点, 不要让学生机械地、刻板式的模仿自己的朗读, 要善于发现每个学生在朗读中所表现出来的独特的创造力, 给予鼓励。要善于引导、启发他们从经历过的类似事件中去联想。这种联想有助于发挥想象力和创造力。只有学生按照自己的体会想象出课文中所描写的一切时, 他们朗读的语言才能属于自己的思想, 语调才能自然、生动、具有独特的表现力。第三要选择合适的朗读材料和朗读方法。合适的朗读材料可引起学生朗读的爱好。教师可选择一些朗朗上口的诗歌、散文等作为朗读材料。材料选择好以后, 还要恰当运用朗读方法。如诗歌可进行配乐朗读, 故事可进行分角色朗读, 这样可使学生每一个细胞都活跃起来。

三、如何进行写的训练

小学课本中的每篇文章都是精品, 语文教师就要引导学生去钻研, 帮助学生深入理解课文, 不仅是文章内容, 而且包括写作技巧, 学习作者布局谋篇、恰当运用语言文字表达真情实感的能力。课外书籍中有许多令学生入迷的经典作品, 感染力强, 对学生有相当大的吸引力, 远胜于课文的效果。教师要根据学生的兴趣爱好, 尽量多介绍一些课外书籍让学生阅读、交流, 以丰富学生的知识, 开阔学生的视野, 让学生在阅读中学会写作。

听说读写能力的提高虽不是一日之功, 但只要我们采取适合学生的教育内容和教育方法, 并长期坚持下去, 就一定会取得好的效果。

随着全球一体化的不断深化, 国际交流的日益增加, 作为大学课程的必修课, 大学英语的教学要求也不断地提高。英语的实际应用能力得到高校的重视。阅读是英语学习者获取知识和足够信息的工具。因此, 拥有较好的阅读能力对于21世纪的人才来说是必备的。而写作则是使用英语进行交流的重要手段。传统的大学英语教学并没有设置专门的阅读和写作课程, 在精读课上, 教师教法单调, 多以讲授语言点知识点为主, 忽视了学生自主学习能力的培养。这样的教法不仅令学生乏味, 而且违背了语言学习的规律。

大学英语教师如何利用不断减少的课堂教学时间使学生的读写能力得到提高?任务教学法的提出, 为大学英语教师改革教学方式提供了坚实的理论基础。大学英语教师应认真研究任务教学法, 将学生置身于各种具体的语言任务中以培养他们的语言运用能力, 这样的教学效果会事半功倍。

2. 任务教学法

任务型语言教学的理论依据之一来自于对语言习得的研究, 是一种建立在建构主义教学理论基础上的教学方法, 符合探究式教学模式。任务型教学法将教学从以教师为中心转到以学生为中心, 从依赖教材转化为教材为模块式的任务型教学服务。

任务教学法适用于培养学生的自学能力和相对独立分析问题、解决问题的能力。在任务教学法的实施过程中, 教师应把握以下三个原则。

(1) 任务目标的明确性和操作性。教师须在课前就对任务进行详细而适当的设计。教师通过分析学生的学习能力和将来的工作需要, 确保任务的内容具体而实际, 便于执行, 这样大多数的同学都能参与到学习活动中去, 在明确、真实的语言信息和环境中, 学生知道通过什么活动完成什么任务、达到什么目的。

(2) 任务的递进性。教师设计任务时, 应考虑任务的难度, 使其必须符合学生的语言能力。太难的任务会使学生产生挫败感, 丧失学习的信心;太容易的任务又容易使学生感到没有挑战感, 丧失斗志。任务的设置应由易到难、由简到繁, 形成由简单任务到复杂任务梯度。此外, 教师还可以将一个任务划分成若干子任务, 使子任务构成“任务链条”。教师和学生都要围绕既定的主要任务开展各自任务逐步细化的工作和学习, 采用不同的方法解决每个分任务。这样, 学生在互动和协作的过程中, 逐渐掌握具体的学习方法和技能, 学会如何分析、解决问题, 从而增强学生的自主学习能力。

(3) 任务过程的兴趣性。在真实的场景中学习, 更能提升学生学习的兴趣。任务的设计必须结合学生的兴趣爱好、专业特点和个人英语水平。任务内容的选材应贴近学生生活。如:社会热点话题、时尚流行趋势、以及学生关心、关注的新闻等都可能最大程度地激发学生的学习动机。此外, 教师在组织学生完成任务时, 还可以采用不同的方式, 如:游戏、竞赛、表演等。这样, 在完成任务的过程中, 学生的兴趣得到调动, 自主学习能力不断增强。

3. 任务教学法在读写教学中的应用

(1) 精化阅读选材, 确保任务目标的明确性和操作性

为了确保任务目标的明确性和操作性, 让学生在真实、自然的情景中学习英语阅读, 教师可对阅读材料进行筛选。如:我校使用的是大学体验英语教程作为精读课的教材, 为了指导学生有效的自主学习, 我们又为学生选定了吉林出版集团编订的捷进大学英语阅读教程。由于该教材是引进国外的教材, 话题大都较为新颖, 题材多样, 具有实用性、现代性。对于教材中所有的阅读内容, 教师设计明确的任务目标, 如:就语言本体, 教师可以安排学生通过阅读掌握哪些生词、习练哪些句型、牢记哪种语法现象;就篇章理解, 教师可以让学生归纳某一段落的中心思想, 分析作者的写作意图。此外, 教师还可以按照学生英语基础的不同和专业的差异因材施教。针对不同的学生安排不同的任务, 这样确保任务目标的明确性和操作性。

(2) 逐步习练写作, 实现任务的递进性

在设计任务时, 教师应在语言技能训练上, 采用灵活的阶梯式层层推进的教学方法。阅读是其他英语技能的保障, 为听、说、写、译奠定语言基础。因此, 在每次阅读任务布置和完成后, 教师应当擅于引导学生总结性学习, 如:做读书笔记、摘抄经典句式、写读后感。当然任务的数量和难度要循序渐进。教师可就生词较多的篇章布置做读书笔记;就经典的段落布置造句的任务;针对故事情节清晰的文章, 教师可安排学生写读后感。这样, 即确保了任务的循序渐进性, 又保证了任务的可操作性。

(3) 合理设计方法, 保证任务过程的兴趣性

教师在安排读写任务时, 要以学生的生活经验和兴趣为出发点, 内容和方式要尽量真实, 或者接近现实生活。这样, 学生才能把内容和情感有机结合起来。如:就写作任务中的热点话题, 教师可在Q群中发起讨论, 由于话题涉及课本中的内容, 又与身边的生活息息相关, 学生们都觉得有话可说, 在群中畅所欲言, 表达个人的观点。任务的兴趣性, 为任务的实现提供了有效的保障。

4. 结语

综上所述, 教师在大学英语教学中使用任务教学法, 充分激发了学生的读写学习兴趣, 使学生在完成任务的过程中得到乐趣, 从而不断创新, 不断自我完善, 使得读写能力得到不断的提高。这样的教学才真正实现了大学英语教学要求的目标:“培养学生的英语综合应用能力。”

On August 4, a sixteen-year-old girl was crashed into by a black Porsche Cayenne and dead while crossing the street in Hangzhou City. The driver, 29-year-old Wei Zhigang, and his fiancé, who was also in the car when the accident took place, were both found drunk. According to witnesses, the Porsche Cayenne was speeding at more than 80 kilometers per hour at the time.

The victim, Ma Fangfang, is a waitress in a restaurant in Hangzhou. She was walking on the zebra crossing when the Porsche Cayenne violently charged toward her and knocked her away.

Ironically, the zebra crossing where the accident took place is titled the “Zebra Crossing of Loving Hearts” in memory of the May 7 car accident in Hangzhou.

On May 7, nineteen-year-old Hu Bin, knocked a man to death when he was driving his sports car at an extremely fast pace between 84.1 k/h to 101.2 k/h. Hu was sentenced into prison for three years, according to the final judgment declared by the Xihu District Court in Hangzhou, on July 20.

Out of a hope for better traffic regulation and more drivers with loving hearts, Hangzhou City has since set up several special zebra crossings, which are wider, color-changed, and feature loving hearts wrapped up in the middle.

Wei Zhigang, the driver of the Porsche Cayenne, together with his fiancé, was detained and investigated by the Public Security Organ in Hangzhou.

In recent years, traffic accidents come about frequently in our country, which kill a great number of people every day and disable many more people. Traffic accidents not only cause a great loss of property, but also bring endless pain to many families.

There are various causes of traffic accidents, among which the main one is the drivers' breaking the traffic law and regulations, such as speeding, drowsy driving and driving after drinking alcohol.
